In my last playthorugh, i used ranger summons and set up tactics for
all the pets (using the "one tactics slot added" each time i summoned
it)
However, on my new playthrough, i tried summoning a wolf as soon
as i got the ranger specialization, and didn't get the notification of
a tactics slot added, effectively preventing me from making tactics for
the pets.
Whats wrong?

You probably just missed it. I wouldn't complain a lot, though, because being able to set those tactics is probably a bug. After all, it doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense to let you set like 4 or 5 abilities via tactics, when going from ranger to master ranger only grants you 1 additional ability.

I did it over and over waiting for it to appear and it wasn't there, but i went to a different playthrough and it was

And btw I really like being able to set tactics for them
