At what point in the game was this taken?

Hi all devoted Jack fans!
I have a question, don't know if you've discussed this, but did your expectations of Jack before the game differ from what you thought of her after finishing?
I was expecting a much more confident woman with a soft side you had to work hard to reveal, I wasn't really prepared for her to be so fragile. To be fair I had pretty much only watched her trailer and read her info on the homepage, but I was surprised nevertheless. They did a really good job in making her story emotionally engaging, even for me who didn't romance her.
I would really like to see more of her in ME3.
Well, aesthetically I loved her the second I saw her. Probably different to alot of people in that regard. But I wasn't a fan of her personality going from her reveal trailer. Bioware tends to have one overly blood-thirsty 'badass' in each game that I usually end up not liking so much (Wrex, Grunt, Canderous, Black Whirlwind all fit this) so I was expecting Jack to be that this time. And for the first playthrough, she was to a degree. But after a few playthroughs, including one romance, she's really grown on me. And I still love the tattoos.Arahlene wrote...

I wasn't sure what to think of Jack when they revealed her character, but she was certainly interesting (I have a thing for broken and/or complex characters. Probably the writer/poet in me). And my curiosity only increased as I progressed through the game, with her quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.Arahlene wrote...

If we were getting that reputation, wouldn't we be getting more trolls, though, Bobby?
I'd like to think we've been even and have had nice things to say about the other characters... Save the one.

I dunno, a lot of new people who post to this thread seem sorta nervous at first, like, "Well, I like Jack... BUT I LIKE TALI TOO! I'M SORRY! DON'T HIT! DON'T HIT!" Like we're not going to accept them because they DARE to find another character just as interesting or fun as Jack. Maybe newbies in the other character support threads do this too, I dunno, but it's just something I noticed.

I knew I'd like her before the game launched, only because I'm attracted to that kinda girl. After playing the game I liked her even more, cause she was not a stereotype, and she was so well written. A lot of depth, and pretty to boot.

Well, the world of 80's sci-fi is just too old-school for a cool looking spaceship interior... in those days it was all good old fashioned post-nuke armageddon hijinks - only with 80% more mutants, at least 15% added cyborg killing machines and 100% less convincing makeup. Sooooo, there was only one place I could take her to try out the new outfit; a deserted laboratory - would only have been better if it was underground!
So, here's a couple of shots of Jack - All Cyberpunk'd
"You ain't got a geiger counter? How'd you survive out here this long?"
"It's got too many ****ing eyes - it's gotta die!"
I think as long as she's not emoting anything too far beyond Grrrrrrr, I quite like the shades

I had exactly the same reaction. One of the seldom moments you get to see the real Jack, during missions anyway.yorkj86 wrote...
I didn't think much of Jack at all until I watched her nervously handling the detonator after her loyalty mission. The worried look on her face at that moment told me that there was WAY more to her than just "I'm an angry ****."

The expression on her face made me think about what she said during the mission. That she was a powerful ****, but how that place made her a scared little girl again. Or something like that, I don't remember it literally. Anyway, that's exactly what I saw while she was nervously playing with the detonator. A frightened little girl. Vulnerable, like you say. Maybe even seeking for approval somehow, that she is doing the right thing by blowing it all up.Captain Uccisore wrote...

So true. It was really jarring to see Jack so... vulnerable. At least for me. She'd been showing vulnerability throughout the mission, but this was the first time she didn't try to mask it or get over it quickly. I always wondered what was racing through her head right then.

Hello again.
With a BobbytheI's very kind help, I've made a little zip of Jack sound bites, which you can find here.
Jack Speaks
I hope I'm not doing anything terrible that Bioware would disapprove of. If I am and they let me know, I will of course remove the file and the link. I think it's an alright thing to do though.
I expect quite a few of you have these already but hope it's amusing to some of you. ^^
Best wishes
Tara

Have you guys ever thought of starting a group on the forums for in-game but off-topic discussions for Jackolytes who don't wish to throw this thread off of Jack? I'm not dissing anyone here I just sort of came into the idea reading the last few posts. Hell you can call the group "Subject Zero" it would be sort of fitting.
