I agree fully. I enjoyed all the romance stories (even Miranda's)
but at the end of Tali's I was left a little disappointed. Her aggressiveness was surprising. She was open about being a virgin (or that was my take) from her dialogue, but it was Jack's scene that I would have expected in her place rather than the opposite. Ok I'm rambling and confusing myself here, so I'll quit. Hope that makes sense, cause I'm not sure it does to me anymore. Heheh.
Oh, I'm pretty sure you can't read between the lines when Tali says she's not trusted anyone enough to do anything intimate. Virginal does not always meen shy and retiring though. I read Tali's sudden attack of assertiveness (demonstrated in the now-legendary
"Quarian Pounce Maneuver") is a physical affirmation of her confidence that Shepard is 'the one' for her; she's putting aside all her natural fears and worries because he has accepted her, despite being fragile, despite being alien, she's also a woman and he sees that before the mask. Also there may well be a touch of wanting to live up to expectations... we're not beyond acting a little out of character to impress someone, aliens are probably no different. Shepard's experienced, she isn't, and I'm positive that as a woman, part of her will want to impress, to measure up. Basically, she wants it, and knowing he does too... the red rag don't need waving at the bull anymore to get it to charge

As for Jack, it's reversed. She is suddenly vulnerable because someone harbours those feelings for her. Any experience and assertion dissolves as Shepard initiates intimacy with her; because it's genuine, she's unsure, so she has a touch of the rabbit-in-the-headlights about it all. She lets him sweep her up, and I suppose in a way that makes it even better for Jack... it makes her feel like a 'real' woman; it allows her to feel normal. There's no need for pretence either; she doesn't have to hide her traumas under bravado (sexual violence does all kinds of damage to women - and men for that matter - that often takes a lot of mask-wearing to cover or function through in regards to intimacy) Jack is just being a woman - a
truly naked one. It's scary and wonderful and the end result is... well... a sense she really can be free of all her emotional fetters with a man.
Shepard not only saves galaxies, but he's pretty good with hearts too

I feel bad for Miranda... she opted for a probably very satisfying physically but nowhere near as soulful sport-**** on the engine room floor. She got the cheap seats in comparison to Jack and Tali

Actually, just going back to Tali for a second (and almost certainly incinerating the PG-13 rated nature of forums in general), I'm forced to wonder not only what alien skin feels like, but also scents and tastes. Human women have enough paranoia about things like that, Tali must seriously be going through the doubt-rollercoaster over that one -
do I smell or taste or feel revolting to him? And no, I'm not just talking about... let's just say
oral intimacy. That has to be one of the biggest psychological barriers in hypothetical sapient inter-species relationships; you might look pleasing to the eyes, but will something else conspire to screw up your already difficult relationship?
