This minor disturbance aside, this thread really has had a remarkably low troll-density thus far. And even the ones that do show up (with one notable exception) generally don't put their heart into it, and are easy enough to ignore.

It really is surprising. I see people on these forums make posts saying they wish they could leave Jack on the Purgatory while it blows up, and I stop and think, "I'm surprised they haven't even attempted to troll Jack's fan thread." I guess they look through here a bit and realize that they are way out of their league so they don't even bother.

If, and this is a big "if", they have been watching this thread, they would also know that trolling is pointless, that we are an intelligent crew here, which is what you were probably saying, I just thought I'd spell it out. ;)

The objective isn't to tell a new story. There hasn't be one of those in a long, long time. The objective is to tell an old story well, and in compelling ways (to paraphrase Joseph Campbell).

Bioware did that very well with Jack.

And you mention Big Joe as I look over at my copy of Hero with a Thousand Faces :D

Speaking of walking.  He must  have tripped and fell into this thread on his way to the "Talimancer" Hall.

Except that we are intelligent.

And Tali and Jack are the two best crew members on the whole damn ship.

Admittedly that was an insult to the character of Tali and her more intelligent of fans, my apologies.

This kind of fits too, on several levels I think (not least of which is the song's title).

It's half biology and half corrective surgery gone wrong
You'll notice something funny if you hang around here for too long

I love The Dresden Dolls, but Jack doesn't seem the type, but most people wouldn't think I liked them either.

This one was always my favorite of theirs... it drips self-doubt, self-aggrandization, self-preservation, self-worth and self-loathing, with that wonderful flavour of the brokendown carnival. It wouldn't fit Jack though. Miranda maybe...

Actually, to the extent that Jack has a theme song of sorts in my mind, it's probably "Destroyer" by Angels of Light (and not just because of the name).

www.youtube.com/watch

Maybe not a theme song exactly-- and don't take it all too literally either-- but it can conjure up images of Jack and Shepard for me when I let it.

As to what she'd listen to? I'm somewhat in agreement with the industrial idea, but who knows, might well be Mazzy Star.

And the winner of today's Old & Possibly Senile Award is... me! Because I only just realised the MDFMK is KMFDM backwards.

Kids, don't spend your youth headbanging - it really messes up your adult life :D

Ok, let's get this thread back on Jack as it were. ME3 should, if it follows up on promises, take us from lvl 30 to 60, which will logically mean a new power or two for characters to make use of those points. What new powers do you think Jack should get?

While I would love a charge and a biotic-enhanced right hook, I'd quite like a biotic detonation of some kind; like a short-range shockwave that rolls out in a 360 degree arc with Jack at the epicentre, and tosses anything not nailed down away into the air... crates, canisters, Husks... ;)

I'd actually just plain give Jack a charge. Charge is just so her style too. Charge an enemy, and end in a nice little nuclear slam explosion.

I wouldn't mind a biotic equivalent of the "force whirlwind" power from the KOTOR games, myself.

That sounds like it would be mostly useless on any difficulty above Normal, and maybe even on Normal. The AI is too clumsy and dumb to actually follow directions. Jack would need Barrier just to stay alive to get close enough to use an ability like that. I know that Jack is technically a Vanguard, but she's still controlled by AI.

I already have trouble enough keeping poor Jack alive when she's behind cover.  She'd go down in an instant out of cover.

Hey all, was browsing through the forums here and apparently Sam Hulick put up some concept music that never made it into ME or ME2 social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/1909172

Some look into the early stages of Jack's theme, about 30 seconds worth.  Glad it ended up the way it did though, however.

True... I'm always telling her to keep her melon head down, but noooooo... never listens ;)

It was a cute idea at least :D

The Charge idea for Jack might not be so unrealistic. The reason I say that is because Kasumi is currently designed to have a Backstab type attack when she comes out. So, she'll actively be getting in close to enemies to do one of her big moves. Doesn't take much then to give Jack a Charge, I would think. Just might have to try to program her to search for cover after Charging.

Call me basic, but dear Lord, give the poor woman Warp. It seems that the one character who should have Warp doesn't have it at all.

Yes! I would love to see Jack use charge. She is a freaking vangaurd after all. That would be so badass seeing Jack dart across the screen with charge. I think BioWare could pull it off. She'll just need a big barrier boost after she charges so that she doesn't get ripped apart everytime she charges.

But I think all squadmates need some more unique and powerful ability. Kasumi can cloak and sneak up behind people, how come that couldn't do something kool and unique like that for every squadmate? BioWare should introduce some DLC that gives every squadmate a new kool unique ability, like charge for Jack.

I think that theme song is badass. It suits Jack very well, especially for the first time you meet her.

She's a vangaurd and vangaurds don't have warp. I think they should have made shockwave more powerful like the scions' shockwave.

Jack's shockwaves have saved my bacon more times than I can count now. Sure, she spoils my sniper shots with it, but it's got me out of the **** enough times for me to not care.
