Debate you? Dude, no one gives a **** about you. Do you honestly think your post about Jack being a "walking stereotype" (I can't think of a stereotype that doesn't walk) is not trolling? Give me a break.

I resent that! Two Girls - One Quarian is regarded as high art in some circles! Even though the score is frighteningly retro...

Well, we can always add it to Zero Tolerence, then everyone can be happy.
Plus the group has been a bit quite for awhile.

There there Mondo, if you think about it it's technically my fault. I am the one after all that started talking about the need for good Jack Fanfiction out there.

(Actually, no, I lie. I'm working on getting together my next, very ambitious one, and if it comes together the way I think it is... I think the Tali fans are really gonna hate me.)
It's... It's Tali and Grunt, isn't it?

Jack goes through a list of crimes she has committed early in the game, while I can see her doing many if not all of those crimes, how many of them do you think she did personally? How many do you think the "groups" she was part of did and she added it to make her seem tougher/increase her armor?
Part of me thinks she said not just what she did but what the gangs and the cult she was part of did to toughen up her rep and strengthen her emotional armor. You know, make her less likeable.

The piracy charge, I think, is where she embellishes a little. I think she was a part of a crew, there, taking down a passenger ship. I can see Jack doing a lot of things, none of which involve pulling on someone who was unarmed that didn't do her dirt personally.

OK I have a question for you all (to get back on topic).

I'm sure maybe at first but after awhile she started buying into her own ambiguous actions. Note her chuckle when she recalls the vandalism story against the Hanar moon. You do anything enough you start to build up an immunity to the effects, especially psychologically. I'm not saying she doesn't feel guilt, just that she's well practiced in dismissing the emotions.

It's plausible that at least some of the things she said were stretching the truth a tad (if not outright fabrications) to push Shepard away. Wouldn't be unprecedented when it comes to BioWare games (I have a specific BGII reference in mind but I don't want to spoil anything for roy). Basically, I wouldn't take any of those stories at face value - not just in terms of what she did but how much she supposedly enjoyed it.
It's disappointing that you couldn't really have any follow-up conversations with her about her past after the romance cutscene - I think it would be interesting to see whether she has anything different to say about all of that now that she's no longer trying to put up a front.

We have already debated the "stereotype" argument. If you have something new to add you should have led with that. We would be happy to hear you and/or debate with new material. We can be quite civil.
I don't think Jack would nessasarily be a metal chick. Most of her action and half her tattoos are her acting out because of the trauma of her youth.
Jack has lived a life of violence so just hearing about imagined violence from someone that never lived it would probably be more annoying than relateable. What I think she really wants is peace.
That's why she's at the bottom of the ship. All the tough girls stuff is armor, you act like you don't care so no one knows that they can or how to hurt you.

I don't know, it leaves the door open to some interesting interactions in ME3. All those people she pissed off and now she's working with commander Shepard? There be trouble brewing on the horizon that has nothing to do with the reapers.
After all, the Hanar really did like that moon.
....it was the Hanar right?

See, now if you'd just said that initially instead of the whole "walking stereotype" thing, we'd have never blown up at you.
As to what you say here, I think I actually totally agree with you. I mentioned in an earlier post that I thought maybe she'd like celtic rock, but I also said that it's quite likely that she actually hates music altogether. And what you say, Weiser, does have some truth within some of what she says in the game... that she wants to be somewhere quiet. In fact, I believe one of her sound files actually has her saying "It's quiet... just how I like it."
