Completely off-topic (Sort of), but I just saw what happens if you reject Jack before the Omega-4 Relay. Painful, to say the least... Posted Image<-- This was my face. (And hers...)

I'm guessing it was the video I put up since I haven't seen any other copies of it. Speaking of which, I've been tempted to put up a video of what happens when you choose Jack as the Fire Team leader. I've actually gone ahead and recorded a few days ago, but wasn't sure if it would be worth posting. She's got at least two different lines she can say afterwards, but I can't seem to get her to say more than one of them.

Yeah, we were discussing that heartbreak a few pages back; I didn't even see it in the game, but just HEARING it going through the audio was painful enough.  That and the quote for her death during the suicide mission if you romanced her are things I never want to hear again.

Why do I always miss the (really) important stuff? And, I'm sorry for another dumb question, (and for running the risk of sounding stupid twice in one day) but what *does* she say if she dies when you romanced her? I have the 360 version, so I can't go digging through the audio files. (And I have no intention of killing her on the Suicide Mission just to hear it)

No sweat about bringing it up again; I've brought up stuff I know I've already discussed several times already, because A) most folks aren't going to go back and read all this stuff, and B) I like to hear myself talk. ;)

And the quote from the suicide mission was something like, "I knew I would get tagged on this mission.  I was too happy.  Too happy with you..."  Just the idea that Jack's worldview is such that her default condition must be suffering, and that any happiness on her part must be punished.  Plus, the fact that the only way that quote would ever be played is because Shepard put Jack into a role that she wasn't suited for, because he let his feelings get in the way of his better judgment... it's just terrible.

She's something along the lines of, "I knew I was going to get hit on this mission... I was too happy... too happy with you..." I haven't actually seen the part where she says this, I just heard it from the audio files someone posted a few pages back. Idk if I ever want to see the video of it though, but then again I'm extremely curious Posted Image. If someone posted a video of it I'd probably watch it, but I wouldn't go for it in one of my playthroughs. Rejecting her when she comes to your cabin was pretty rough, but at least she's still alive. It would be a big downer just seeing her die. I saw a brief clip in some ME2 montage of her dieing when you don't upgrade the Normandy's armour. I was not happy about that. Posted Image One thing I never want to see is Jack getting taken away by the seeker swarms, that's the worst way to go in that mission. I heard the sound file of her getting taken away by the seeker swarms though Posted Image.

Manijacks, I need your advice. I want my Shep to stay on friendly terms with Jack after completing her loyalty mission, but I want to avoid getting romantically involved with her. What exactly is her point of no return?

I haven't tried it myself, but I would guess that (assuming you talked to her as much as possible before her loyalty quest) you can talk to her one time after her loyalty mission before you really start delving into her romance.

The point of no return is right after she asks if you're just talking to her for sex. You can have that conservation with her but after that, you're in romance territory.

Oh yeah, I've never experienced in game, but I got it on a file, and damn, it breaks my heart every time. But I almost can't stop listening to it just because it says so much. Jack was HAPPY. She and Shepard had something and she realized it. And then it just all went ahead and I swear my eyes are watering a little bit thinking about it just now.

It's so sad, but it almost gives me hope in a way. My Shepard and Jack are still alive, and ready to face the Reapers together, and maybe, just maybe there's a future for them. Maybe they will be happy after all.

I just really hope BioWare does relationships justice in ME3. They better not turn your LI or any ME2 squadmate into a cameo again. I'm extremely anxious to see all the ME2 squadmates in ME3, especially Jack of course.

I think that's a sentiment that every fan on the forum can identify with, Jackal, regardless of the who's and the why's ^_^
I think Bioware outdid themselves in their character creation on the whole; everything was vastly improved on ME1, given so much extra resonance and depth. Particularly where our adopted girl is concerned, but overall it really is a triumph for them. They really did a sterling job with the characters.

I get the feeling that BioWare has caught such unholy hell on this forum for doing what they did with the ME1 characters that they'll have no choice but to bring them all back on the party bus. They know how important this kind of thing is to a large part of the fanbase, as it's part of the "emotional connection" they've stated publicly is their goal.

But pull this cameo stuff with Jack, then, well... I won't do anything violent, but I shall no longer buy any of Canada's crappy beer. That's for DAMN sure.

Ya I know a ton of people have stated the same thing, which is why I think BioWare will do the right thing in ME3 and bring everyone back as a squadmate in ME3. I just feel the need to restate it every now-and-then just to remind them Posted Image.

I daresay BioWare will have - or should have, at any rate - learned from the overall response towards Awakening as well (from critics as well as lowly plebians like myself and the rest of the fans). If you come up with a cast of characters that peoplebecome  attached to,whether in terms of romance or otherwise, you risk much by continuing the franchise while dropping those characters, or relegating them to trivial roles.

What do we think Jack's favorite food is?

I think Jack's favorite food is a plain ol' greaseball burger.

On a more serious note... given Jack's tough history, it's quite plausible that she would have had to resort to, let's just say, some unconventional forms of nourishment every now and then. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd developed a taste for something like, say, smoked Quarian...

At first I thought a sex joke was being made, then I realized that you're talking about eating Quarians.  Actually, I'm still not quite sure a sex joke isn't being made.

I think Jack might also like a giant plate of spaghetti and tomato sauce. She'd make a royal mess out of it, too.
