You know, Mass Effect 2 had some of the best character development I've ever seen in a game (not to to mention the best characters). That's a fantastic accomplishment on the part of the game's creators.

Jack was a really interesting character. At first glance, she's ridiculously aggressive, unstable, and possibly a psychopath; but when you get to know her better, you break through that emotional wall that she's constructed to hide her sensitive side, and it really pays off when you get to know that side of her.

Totality agree she's awesome...more Jack in ME3 please!

You are aware that you're not helping to get rid of the potential labelling of all Jackolytes as sexual deviants? :innocent:
I think I started to lose it as soon as Jacob put himself up for the ultimate sacrifice, but the last line was the clincher. You are truly the master
Bobby, you MUST put this in a Talimancer thread. I'll protect you, I promise

I think the story in Mass Effect is significantly better than most movies.
But on a different topic. You ever wonder what Jack is talking about when you call her up to your cabin and she sits on your lap? I figured it would be something like...
Jack: ".....So then I slammed this guy's head against the wall and the whole side of his face caved in and his eyes were dangling out of his skull and...."
Shepard:
lol, Jackal. Yeah it does make my mind itch wondering what she's going on about as Shep sits there with a bemused look on his face.
Jack's versions of 'Band Camp' stories would make most people wince...
I'll share a real-life version of one of those. Long time ago, while I was at college, went on this 4-day field trip to Amsterdam. Long story short, I was told that the obscenely pretty-in-a-gothic-Marla-Singer-kinda-way gal on the course liked me (as in liked me liked me) so I thought (as Jack would say, and as you tend to when you're young, full of tequila and in the college 'experimentalist' phase) why the **** not? Went to her room, all her friends sloooowly evaporated until we were alone, and then -
She told me, with complete and utter sincerity, about how she believed she was a victim of alien abduction. Now rage might be a hell of an anasthetic, but crazier-than-a-****house-rat is no aphrodisiac. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.
I can only wonder what happens when Shepard makes the mistake of asking Jack about life experiences. Can't be pretty, either way. Shep probably feels a mite threatened

You know... it's the little things. The hardest part of this whole thing was trying to convey an injection in only audio. I searched all over for a webpage with Star Trek sounds that included the sound of a hypospray, but came up empty. Finally I just took a hydraulic sound, sped it up, and put in an "Ow!" from Tali to convey it. Not as difficult as trying to do a "Shut Up Kiss" with only audio in the Miranda/Jack one, but still hard.
My only regret is that this thing is so big, I'd never be able to top it. But hey, at least it means I would stop derailing the thread with these things.

As bad as this was... it was originally much worse. Let's just say that, in my original script, Tali never got convinced of Shepard's plan, but Grunt just went ahead anyway. A wee bit too dark, I think.
Hah, I'm glad - I think you made the right call. With the obvious exception for clowns, joking about rape is never acceptable or funny.

It's to do with the Bioware Bazaar thing - it's a community-wide giveaway, if by part of the 'community' you live in America. I think everyone else is feeling a tad swindled...

bioware's epic countdown - the 'bioware Bazar' was only limited to 48 states (rite?) of america because they're a part of the community.
Canada is excluded from the bazar too.

Oh, it's just the fallout from BioWare's "epic community event" which was revealed yesterday. Some people were a little irked by the fact that it was advertised on all main BioWare sites, including their global site, only to end up being something that applied only to the US (well, most of the US anyway; I believe Florida and New York were excluded as well).
Edit: Incidentally, I too am one of the folk who are apparently not part of the "BioWare community" - just not of the European persuasion. And I can't really be buggered to make my own signature. Though I make up for it by ****ing on various threads and sarcastically asking whether I can at least donate my "tokens" to charity, since there doesn't seem to be much else I can do with them.

Ya I was expecting some big DLC announcement. But I wouldn't be so upset about it if they included New York. How the hell do you not include New York? ****ing New York! And I can understand why people that don't live in the U.S. are really upset. It feels like BioWare is saying, "We want to thank the community... oh, except you guys." If they couldn't at least include people from Europe and all 50 United States, then they probably shouldn't have done it. And they should not have hyped it up with an epic countdown.

*Take the post above. This is what the community is now supposed to be. Poor attempts to disguise "get me more token" links. I'd be somewhat miffed if I wasn't so amused by the whole thing.
