No, I can't cross-post it really, not without seeming exceedingly hypocritical after my little rant on how everyone's free to use sunscreen. It's just me being a *****. ;)

Ok, so I just had to do another run... still no catching Jack joy, but I did get these shots to make Motivationals out of... I'll pop them in the main thread in a sec, you guys get first dibs...

I love how she's looking right into the camera with that "Erm..." look on her face.

And this just is so true!

I have my own recording of Jack's final romance scene.  There are a lot of tiny, tender moments that contribute to the overall impact of the scene, but my single favorite part is when Shepard accepts her.  We've already established that she has big, rich, brown eyes, but when she uses them to search Shepard's eyes for his sincerity, right before she leans in for the hug...that melts my heart each and every time.

Absolutely my favorite scene in a game ever.  It's up there with any scene from anything honestly. It's one of those scenes that really pulls you in, like you lose all sense of anything else around you and you just feel completely connected with whats going on in the scene.  I do wish it were a bit longer but then again it wouldn't be as special if it was just Jack pouring out her emotions on Shepard.  It really just shows that she's willing to break out of the past and into the future.

What we really need is more dialogue post collector base -- seriously.. don't you think you'd atleast get a little tid bit of something from Jack.  Just something.

Edit: Going to reitterate what is underlined from my post. After reading this I kinda feel like I should of described what I meant a bit more. I just didn't want that scene to be like 5 minutes of Jack crying on Shepards shoulder, like that bawling crying.  Because I do understand that what happens is Jack DOES pour her emotions on Shepard.. just in her own way.  :D

You know what I think would make it better? Non-silent tears. When a wall that big comes down, there's going to be one helluva noise. I'm not saying she should bawl her eyes out, but for Jack, one little sob; one frantic stuttering gasp, eyes screwed shut, shoulders heaving, as the barrier collapses and she's that frightened little girl under the desk again, just for a moment...

That would have just blown me away for keeps.

Hmm.. you make a good point Mondo. That really would of struck me pretty good.

But then again I do enjoy that almost silent pulse in the background as the tears begin to roll down her cheek and she goes into Shepards arms.

The only noise we hear from her when that "wall" comes toppling down, is...

A relieved sigh.

It's great that there was something, but...that wasn't enough.

When you sit back and think about all the little details concerning Jack and her place in the game, how she's manifested, the level of detail for this one single character is just astounding. We've talked about the quality of her voice acting, how she moves within that small space and how dynamic it is compared to other characters, the detail in her body (tattoos, eyes, lips, etc.), the cinematography of her scenes, the flexibility of her romance with Shepard, her appeal across both genders, and so many other little things that I can't even remember.

It does seem like they put in a little extra effort with Jack. It's really impressive on BioWare's part with everything they've done with Jack. To have created such an amazing character. I hope Jack gets some extra special treatment again ME3. She is such a unique an interesting character, they can't pass up such a great opportunity with such a great character by not doing anything but the best for her.

Same here. And right after she says, "You're right, maybe I need too...", and she's just standing there with her head down looking so vulnerable, waiting for you to say something. It gets me everytime. It's a look that would melt even satan's heart.

Mondo you need to make one of those "motivationals" (or whatever they're called) of that part and below it say, "Oh come on. Look at that face!"

Btw that "PMS" one is great Posted Image.

I think the silent tears were appropriate for that scene. If she started bawling then that would be kind of awkward transitioning into the "make out" scene from that. I think a scene where she bawls her eyes out would be best saved for a very special moment in ME3.

Why do good things so often come in small quantity?

I'm replaying ME1 and I want some Jack. Just a little. But I don't feel like booting up a ME2 save just to do it.

Jeez I sound like a Jack junkie or something.

You know what I've wondered for a while now. What's going on in Jack's life during the events of ME1? It would be interesting to find out what each ME2 squadmate was doing (besides Garrus and Tali) during the events of ME1.

Blowing  holes in Hanar moons, blowing up space stations, looking to get her eyes shined for 20 menthol Kools.....you know all that girly type stuff.

Well yeah but that could've happened before or after the events of ME1, and I'm more interested in specific situations that they experienced during the events of ME1.

I think a really kool idea for ME2 DLC would be these seperate "missions" where you play as an ME2 squadmate before they meet Shepard. Like with Jack you would play as her during the events leading up to her getting caught and taken to the Purgatory. You could play as Garrus during the events leading up to him defending the bridge on Omega. You could play as Samara trying to hunt down Mornith. Stuff like that.

that does sound kinda fun:) To not only have them tell their tales but to relive one of them through gameplay.  It definitely would add a few more hours to the game.

Said 'chunky dude' is Patrick, Jack's writer. He posted that image on his blog months before ME 2 came out.

Is he really Jack's writer?
I remember a few months prior to ME2's release he was commenting on characters and such and said he thought Jack was well written but he didn't like her character.
From the way in which he said that I assumed he wasn't her writer.

Do you have a link or something that says that he wrote her out of curiosity? (I know he wrote Mordin and large bits of Tali)

Well here's in an interesting summary of an interview with Patrick Weekes about Jack. And it appears that he doesn't really like Jack... www.gamebanshee.com/forums/gamebanshee-news-73/bioware-writer-gives-his-take-on-subject-zero-116024.html

I can't actually tell from those comments as to whether or not he wrote the character...if he did, he isn't lacking in modesty, if he didn't...meh.

I don't know, I've written characters before now I seriously couldn't ****ing stand, but they were so much fun to write because they got my back up, because they were so repugnant to me. You can love to hate, y'know?

Reading characters like that is just so rich and interesting, as is discovering people see them in totally different lights. Just to tip a hat to the last few books I've read, the character Littlefinger in George RR Martin's Song of Ice & Fire series. Some people see the guy as being some kind of loveable, roguish mastermind character, which I just cannot understand in the slightest, considering this is a man who has set states at one another's throats, helped ferment a civil war that has caused the loss of thousands of lives and the suffering of countless thousands more, organised wholesale murder (including the murder of children) and even occasionally got his own hands dirty and snuffed a couple of other characters. That in itself isn't bad enough though - he's done it all because someone else married the woman he wanted for himself. Not to rule the world, not to change the fates of nations, but because he's pissed about who a woman is sleeping with! To me, that's just monstrous (not to mention sickeningly pathetic) on a level that can't be forgiven, ever. Death's too good for the bastard. And yet some people read the character as some clever guy playing his enemies off against one another without ever letting the moral backwash of his actions dirty their shoes.

It does kind of explain how people can be such polar-opposites with Jack. Though it seems that some of us are willing to forgive the criminal record as long as your leg, the unconventional appearance and the frankly sucky attitude (though I think most of us just pegged that for the defense mechanism it is), others cannot. Granted, some of those judgements are based solely on appearance (and thus highly personal and therefore invalid as a base of critique), but for those based on deeds and morals... it raises some interesting questions, particularly for those of us who like the character so much.
