Jack isn't a bad girl she's a half retarded fully bat**** crazy 15 year old with daddy issues and a metric ****ton of angst.
It was like if a stereotype was trying to impersonate two otehr equally retarded stereotypes at the same time.

She doesn't even have a dad.

Oh and yes, keep comparing her to angsty crazy teenagers of our own world, they all got tortured, got raped, got treated like **** by just about everyone.

Right?

Or they all made it up to get people to feel sorry for them...  Like Jack does.  Since she doesn't "remember things so clearly".  Kinda like 15 year old angsty girls with daddy issues use their delusions to fuel their angst and rage on stupid crap like they are completely bat**** crazy?  Image IPB

Jack "could" have been a great character.  But instead she's a stereotype impersonating another stereotype and seems to have been designed by a genius and written by a 15 year old girl....what is full of angst and hates her daddy...

Yeah angst and anger are only stereotypes if they're unjustified.

Plus... whatever, everyone on the normandy is a rehashed archetype. This isn't news.

And you are ok with Bioware rehashing stereotypical characters instead of creating new ones?

I don't like poor writing in games that are supposed to be built on epic writing.  Also don't like fanbois with one had on the keyboard and the other in their lap pining over a vdeogame character then trying to "explain" why they like boobies in some grand lie about how her plight was compelling.  Image IPB

Eventhough I shouldn't respond to this, because you are either ignorant or deliberately seeming ignorant, but well, what the hell.

Then where did she grow up, how did she survive and how did she end up in jail as one of the most dangerous people in the galaxy? I mean, have you even done her Loyalty mission? It's pretty much proof for her being tortured, pitted against other children to be conditioned to fight and being isolated from other children. Or wait, she constructed that entire facility just to convince you and make everything up, right?

And stop mentioning daddy issues. SHE WAS ****ING RAISED BY CERBERUS.

Sheesh, angsty 15 year olds are annoying and rude because they want attention, Jack is like that so she could ****ing survive and would kill anyone who stands in her way to survival. She doesn't even want your attention initially, she just wants you to **** off!

Oh and if we were on about defending a character because of boobies, we'd gone the Miranda way, or possibly Tali because of her hips and the whole 'DAT ASS' thing ppl keep going on about.

You should do her loyalty mission again without the fanboi shades on.  The actual story was Jack "IMAGINED" a great deal about her conditioning.  Remember all the logs where they talk about how they "tortured" and killed the  other kids to protect Jack because she was the important test subject.

And you'd think if she was being conditioned as a weapon (which was the point) she would have some self respect.  But instead we get this weak minded bat**** crazy little girl playing "make-believe" and forcing herself to be the victim.

Everything about this character screams 15 year old drama queen.  None of her story is even remotely believable.  But yeah I guess I'm just more into psuedo realistic fiction rather than the bat**** crazy ramblings of a 15 year old girl with daddy issues.

Oh and by the way "Daddy issues" also covers not having a daddy around.  So yeah... delusions are fun until you start to believe in them...  I think maybe you should take a step back.

So wait, because other children were also tortured and experimented upon, were also treated in very inhuman ways, she can't feel bad about herself being tortured.

She thought the other children were evil and ignoring her, instead, they were treated a bit worse and she was isolated from the by Cerberus (the two way mirror thing). I'd be sympathatic to those other children too, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been through bad things.

I read all the logs, saw all the things, she didn't appear to have that nice of a childhood, regardless of how those other children were treated. You can't possibly be that ignorant, can you? If I shoot someone in the leg and shoot the person next to them in the face, they shouldn't be happy about getting shot in the leg, should they? Eventhough she's an important victim, she's still a friggin victim. And you think it's right to condition teenage girls into killers without them having a choise? That's like being okay with teenage girls being trained to be prostitutes.

Nothing of her story is believable? What about the official Cerberus files which confirm in large amounts what happened to her, what about her being in jail, not lying about that, because you friggin get her out. What about the logs confirming her as a test subject. Have you played ME 1? Can't you see what Cerberus is capable of?

Oh and seeing how you're obviously a phsycoligist, I'll explain 'daddy issues' (or Electra complex), it's having the incredibly urge to please their fathers and being sexually attracted to the, idolizing their fathers and hating their mothers. Seeing how she didn't know her parents and killed those which constituted for parents, I'm guessing she's not having those.

I can just see you going up to a war vet with shellshock and yelling at him, telling him other people had it worse because they died and he didn't. You idiot.

Just because they wrote this crap in doesn't make it believable. You keep trying to use the half-assed story elements to try and defend how half assed it is...

Oh and just because you had someone tell you it was natural to be sexually attracted to your father is no reason to assume that it actually is. Sometimes people lie so they can avoid dealing with you.

Daddy issues = any negative mental state focused on the father (whether he is there or not). You idiot.

If Jack's childhood was imagined it is rather unlikely that The Illusive Man would apologize so readily for ****ing up Jack's childhood.

Maybe you should try playing the game again without the tough guy shades on.

Do I need to post a video of all the points in the game where Jack realises something she "believed" was actually fantasy?

Also you can't use Jack's childhood as an excuse to justify acting like a spoiled rotten drama queen. She was being conditioned to be a weapon. That in itself makes 90% of her character seem retarded. Why would they condition a weapon to act like a spoiled little girl? And why would said spoiled little girl grow up, be a victim over and over (you can establish this in dialogue clearly) and never mature beyond a mental age of about 15?

Answer: there is no good reason and the story doesn't make sense.

They didnt exactly get a chance to finish their conditioning, guy.

Riot? Escape? Termination of program? Any of this ringing a bell?

She got all of the "hey we're locking you in a room and doing experiments on these kids over here" but none of the "by the way you're an awesome weapon and you kick ass you should feel good about yourself" follow-up.

So now you are trying to help explain why none of this story makes sense?  I'm confused I thought you were trying to prove me wrong no illustrate why it's so rediculous.

You think it's half assed, I don't, I think Bioware has great writing, so does the majority of the gaming industry, even Yathzee. I think they knew what they were doing.

Quite an argument, questioning your opponent's sexuality, why, you just proved your own idioticy. Now, just to be clear, Electra Complex is the opposite of Oedipus complex (yeah, you heard of that one, didn't you?), so me being a male, makes it impossible to have Electra Complex.

And just so you know [url=http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-daddy-issues.htm]Daddy Issues actually are refered to as Electra Complex, you're just using words you don't understand. In case of absence of a father, they'll refer to them still wanting to please men and males in particular, because they though to have failed their fathers. Jack doesn't do that.

Wisegeek.com  Really Captain?

How long has it been since you had a real conversation with another person face to face?  Daddy issues as a term was not created to describe the Electra Complex and in fact the Electra Complex was designed to help socially inept retards associate with the meaning of the term, not the other way around.

And you brought up being attracted to your dad not me.  I just used it against you because it was obviously a very fruedian thing to mention.  Image IPB

Yes, please do.

Or I could save you the trouble, there's two things. The Two way mirror which made her realize that she wasn't being ignored by 'evil' children, but they were oblivious of her. And the fact that she was the most important test subject and the other children were used as disposable ones, eventhough she thought the other children had it well.

About her acting like a spoiled drama queen, where does she act spoiled? Give me a specific event, cause no matter how many times you say something, it's not making it any more true. She isn't what Cerberus wanted her to be, because Cerberus was in over their heads, as they've been in any friggin project you've encountered. I also see you don't think of her as more mature than a 15 year old,  why exactely? Because she feels rage and fear? Do people lose those when they grow up? Do you think they do?
