Arcades were definitely great fun, but I think I miss my old Sega Mega Drive the most. I played some of my favourite games of all time on that, like Earthworm Jim, Eternal Champions and Vectorman. Good times were definitely had. 

My parents didn't have money for a Mega Drive or Super NES... Had to make do with my Game Boy. Not that I minded, I had some nice games on it. I also have a clear memory of my dad's Atari 520 ST:P

Back to Jack though, I've noticed her face is actually among the more expressive of your squadmates... At the point where she says "you're weird Shepard, kinda gets me off" she has quite a mischievous smirk! Not overly sexual or anything, but meaningful. Bio did a really good job with her...

On an off-note, judging from the results of the squadmate battle, Jack did better than I'd have imagined. In fact, the only female LI from either game that outlasted her was Liara. That's certainly... Interesting...

Hell of a lot better than back in the day when she was eliminated right after Jacob. Nice to see how far we've come.

But going back a few pages (sorry, a dude has to sleep) to the popularity of the ME1 LIs, I don't think they reached a real fever pitch. If I recall correctly, they all had their share of detractors and proponents, but nothing to get all bent out of shape over. In fact I think the ME1 LI popularity hit a kind of fanatical fever pitch... When they were left out of ME2.

Which leads me to believe if Jack is dumped for the next game, this thread is going to be packed.

Agreed. Since Kasumi had her own unique skill as well as her loyalty one, I'm hoping they'll do something similar in ME3. I mean, we have a really diverse team with a lot of individual strengths and skills. Seeing some more effort to make them truly unique would be nice. I mean, I thought it was strange that, despite being tied for the strongest biotic on your squad, Jack's unique loyalty skill was... An ammo power? After we say her tear through heavy mechs and bulkheads when we first see her, that feels a little odd. *

When I was listening the sound files, that one made me chuckle. Along with the one for Miranda: "Miranda's down, right where she belongs" heh. Also Morinth's (And Samara maybe?): "Now who's the badass biotic, b*tch?" *

* The problem with catching up on afew pages, and making a reply as you read through it, is that you don't realise these things have already been brough up since the post you're repling to. Pfft..

Well, everything's up in the air right now. It's a weird Schrodinger's Cat kind of thing right now. All the squaddies we've had are in a state of flux, both in ME3 and somehow NOT in ME3 until a trailer or a public announcement can set us at ease. No one should either be confident or morose right now.



In short, maybe she will be and maybe she won't. Nobody knows nothin'.

Spoting this post is acutally a bit Ironic. I just finished playing through a *Complete* Jack Paragon Romance (a guy can Talimance only so much, and given that Jack is *easily* my second favorite Female...) and it was truly an enjoyable moment when I got to the final mini-conversation that caps off the Romance dialogue chain with her, "This is hard for me, and you keep pushing. You're Weird Shepard...that kinda gets me off." and literally got up off my couch and yelled, "Hell yeah!" I mean, come on. It's an Epic line. Nice to meet a bad-ass Female that *likes* weird.

Anway, just wanted to chime in to say I hope Jack makes as Strong a return in ME3 as Tali is expected too. She easily has the second best Romance, with perhapes even more Emotional context than Tali...and that's really hard to admit. It would be nice to see Jack come back with a short haircut if you Paragon Romanced her...think Lori Petty in 'Point Break' as an example. Can't see Jack with like...Miranda Hair (shudders).

fully agree with Jackal here. I prefer shaved, but if the devs go for pleasing the big masses( in a manner of saying) I would accept the haircut from that video. Just one question: who is the viking at the second half of the video?^^

I think the shaved head is to push people away from getting close to her. As for her default outfit, I think it's mostly to show off all her tattoos which is also meant to prevent people from getting close to her. In ME3, if you had gained her loyalty in ME2, I think her default outfit should be her ME2 loyalty outfit. That and some different, more comfortable looking pants and shoes are all I want to change about her appearance in ME3.

Taking the old lady stance here, that's not strictly an emo haircut (not that I understand a ****ing thing about this 'emo' business - the only Emo I know **** about is Emo Philips). If the sides were shaved, it would be pretty old-school punk, but those limp fringe things were in quite a few of the old-school hairstyles (probably because teasing them up constantly was a pain in the ass) and they crossed over into new-wave and got progressively more stupid until everyone stopped doing that ****, and now it seems the kids are doing it all over again without the attitude or the anger, just a lot of shoegazing and moaning (so it's still just being a teenager by another name, basically - sulking, wanting to have sex constantly and not being able to, being terminally frustrated by anyone over the age of 25, listening to awful music, and dressing in a way assured to make your parents die of embarassment). If the back and sides were shaved though, she wouldn't have looked out of place thirty years back. The eyemakeup is typical of the tail-end of punk where it became a little less smeared on like woad and almost gothic in its precision... when we all wanted to be as glamourous as Siouxise and could never quite pull it off.

Back onto the original point of all this, ah, I say keep the razored scalp. It's part of what makes Jack Jack.

I'm saying that if--IF--she had to grow hair, it should be something short. Something she could slick back with some water so it didn't get in her eyes. No sense in screwing with her ability to aim a gun.



And if--IF--she had to get a new wardrobe, let's keep it simple. Say a black tanktop underneath an unbuttoned captain's jacket... with a hole in it... which she made... while it was still on the captain.

Some people like her as she is.  Some people think she might look good with a slightly different appearance for ME3.  We're just talking about what might look good on her, if she changed her appearance.

I just do not like change.

I stand by my suggestion way back in the thread for a reverse-charge. Jack would pull the enemy toward her at charge-speed, then punch them away into shotgun range when they reach her. 

It would keep her out of the middle of the fray, since she's squishy, and still allows her to biotic punch the crap out of things. And would make her shotgun useful.
