Jack's getting more and more popular, as she's gonna make it another day out of ME SURVIVOR, most popular among women, outlasted three of the other four female LIs in the deathmatch, etc.
Well, actually I've just checked and she's got 94 votes right now, something like 80 more than yesterday. Looks like Tali fans have decided to... re-tali-ate ;-)

I had suspected as much... pathetic Eartlings, as Ming the Merciless would say. Either that, or the whole thing is a total gip. Sorry, I never trust anything that claims to be run on public opinion... it'd be as foolish as believing the outcome of tv talent shows isn't decided six weeks before the show ends. There's always a way to screw the system - England's last Christmas #1 being the only time I've ever seen this kind of pithy public opinion used for the benefit of humankind

Honey (and variants): A strange look.
Sweetie (and variants): A glare.
Baby: A suspicious glance.
Pumpkin: "You're calling me a ******* vegetable?"
Jackie-poo: A swift kick to the groin.
Feel free to add.

Hell, I thought Jack fans would vote against Miranda. But given that we're talking about nicknames and the biggest part of the ME fanbase mounted a pale, virginal, creepy jihad against our girl practically overnight, I'm gonna start calling Tali "T-Bone" from now on.

As for the survivor thing, someone mentioned that since biotics need to eat more, it'd be logical to off them first. And, I have to agree. I am still annoyed she's going to be out so soon though.
Wrex is also a biotic, and I'd assume Krogan's need to eat as much food equal to half their body mass. But Krogans are known for their ability to survive situations that other species can't, so I guess it makes sense that he would win a survivor challenge.
As for Jack's age. If I had to go with a single number, I'd say she's 21.

Well, that got one hell of a belly-laugh out of me. It's kind of sad that since everyone and their grandmother thought it'd be amusing to vote off T-Bone (I'd find T-Bag more amusing, mind you - for the Prison Break lulz) it seems like they're opting to buck any fun there might have been in the whole sordid little game by using their numbers to force the results they desire. Nothing like control to make you feel all big and important again, is there? Bad Talimancers - nothing like handing over more ammunition to the haters. Bravo.
Or we could be wrong... and it's all above board and all the Miranda fans called their friends, or 70+ newbies joined last night all with a hatred of tattoos and alternative hairstyling, or the whole thing is a total gip... which is seriously more likely though?

Oh, I thought you was talking specifically about the slap Miranda option. It would have been kinda funny if that was actually in the game.Chaos-fusion wrote...
I'm a straight women, so my corner of the market wasn't in mind ith her, so I suppose it's the feminist in me. Causes a knee-jerk reaction sometimes. It's silly really. I should direct my ire at whoever set up those not-so-subtle camera angles. ... Maybe I'm just bitter because I didn't like any of the options for Femsheps? No arse shots of Jacob leaning over the table, hmph..JohnnyDollar wrote...

Yeah I can understand you wanting some more eye candy from the males in the game. Perhaps even a cutscene or two with them kicking a little ass?

I don't know... the single most badass couple in comics call each other cute things all the time... and these two can take anything apart... armies, supervillains, alien gods - all in a day's work for Apollo and The Midnighter. Calling your special someone 'sweetheart' while he strangles someone with their own intestines... that's love, guys

Edit: In a seperate interview Casey Hudson says:
BioWare has always been really good at creating believable characters. Where did these characters come from?
It starts with the story and the role each character has in the game. A large reason why we always like to have an ensemble cast in our games is that players themselves have different personalities and like different things. So if we can create a character that some people love and other people hate, then that is the perfect character for us. Subject Zero is really perfect for that, because there are players that instantly responded to her because she's different. She's honestly got a strong personality, and they really like what she's all about, but there's also a reaction with other players just based off the brief introduction trailer we had, where they really hate her and don't want to recruit her. But the thing I'm really looking forward to is how people respond to these characters as they develop throughout the course of the game. Like in real life, the exterior is one thing, but there's always more to someone in a BioWare game and the characters we make. There is always something more to the exterior, and revealing that inner side – that vulnerable side – is a lot of fun.
I've noticed he talks about Jack very often in interviews

I found a very interesting and slightly old interview with Casey Hudson about the characters of Mass Effect 2. Towards the end he talks about Jack and I think you guys will find it extremely interesting what he says about her. What he says makes me very happy. I think it's safe to say Jack is Casey Hudson's favorite character (Yay!). At the end of the interview he says he wouldn't be surprised if she ends up having a "cult like following." I wouldn't say we're a cult
. But I'd say we are pretty passionate about her considering all the in-depth conversations we've had about her. And I like to think our group is unique to other character fan threads.

Talimancers are a right bunch of cults... cults, cults... you're all getting out of hand now!
Yes, it's my emotional week, so I'm sore they killed our girl. Bunch of mean-spirited, vindictive little pansies...

Did the abundance of complete sentences and lack of Rule 34 give us away?
The thing about ME2 is that it leaves all of its characters on personal cliffhangers, leaving questions that haven't been answered yet. Will Thane die? Will we meet Miranda's father? Will Mordin cure the genophage? Will T-Bone put aside her prejudices and act as Begin to Legion's Sadat?
With Jack, the question is more abstract. It's less to do with what she was born as or what she does for a living. It's all tied to the person she is. It's less to do with a definite endpoint and more to do with her own evolution as a human being. Who will she be?
And that's one of the draws for me, at least. It's hard to place a context on all the world-saving we do. Just arbitrary tests we can pass or fail. But with Jack, we have a face that we can put on how good a person we can be.

To be fair, they did make thane to be sexy, but he's still just a lizard. And Garrus is a dinosaur. I am a little too picky, I think. Good job I don't need something sexy to string me along through the game, or I'd have given up on gaming as a hobby years ago.

That's why I lurk here more than other places. No spamming nonsense, just intellectual discussion about one of my favourite characters. The bare basics are my favourite things. I'd give you all a big hug, but that would be wierd. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]Jackal904 wrote...
