I get a weapon-x kind of feel about the operation going down at the Teltin facility. I don't think they were using Jack as a source to breed more super biotics. And I don't think they planned on making multiple powerful human biotics. I think they just wanted one super powerful human biotic that they could use for their own benefit. Similar to the Nemesis project from Resident Evil.

As for Jack's implants, I am extremely curious as to how extensive they are and what she would like like when X-rayed. I doubt she could walk through airport security without alerting the military. It would be pretty funny if Mordin gave everyone a physical, and when he gets to Jack he is dumbfounded by all her scars and implants. I can imagine an x-ray of her body lighting up like a christmas tree. Like that half human half terminator guy from Terminator: Salvation. Image IPB Well, probably not that bad but it's clear she has got some serious cybernetics going on under her skin.

Oh, and it's not especially interesting (oh gee wizz, another poll that the zerg will swamp), but it seems I was the first person to vote for Jack. Do your part (largely because I'm sure some of these polls are made for nothing more than fanthread masturbation - let's all be the barbed wire buttplug smuggled into their toybox).

Yeah those polls are getting real old. They think they're being so original. "Oh man I'm guna create a poll asking people who their favorite character is! I bet no ones ever done that before!" That or I think Talimancers keep creating them just to remind people of how dominant she is in the polls.

I am getting so sick of people saying this. If you want her to look like Miranda, then **** Miranda. But don't go ****ing about Jack's lack of hair because you're so damn shallow.

I think she looks great with a shaved head and I wouldn't want her hair any other way.

Well, this didn't exactly take me 20,000,000 hours (it was more 'Quick and Dirty', as they say), but nonetheless I felt I had to make it once I saw that picture... I present to you, Super Jackio Land!

Yeah, I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a statement reflecting more superficiality than "I don't like X because X has no hair."

-edit. "I don't respect Gandhi due to his lack of hair."

Something like that?

But it's perfectly fine to be attracted to a species with no hair, or at least not in the sense we're accustomed to. And to our friendly Samara posters... *best Mordin impression* Ahh, no offense.

Yeah, and it's most likely quarians are bald. So when we find that out I'm guna laugh in the faces of all the Talimancers who've ripped on Jack for having a shaved head.

Wow, that reskin of her with no tattoos looks really... strange. Her ink does such an excellent job of covering her up it's one of her main attributes, and to see it all gone is just... strange. It's like if all off a sudden Chewbacca had no fur, would you really think of him the same? I wouldn't.

You think they'd go through that much trouble for one biotic? I'm not implying you're wrong, we're all guessing, it just seems like a lot of work for one person who can still be shot and killed. Jack is one of the squishier characters, after all.

Though Cerberus did put an awful lot into "just" Shepard, so I suppose a smaller investment in "just" Jack is plausible.

Edit: It's interesting how many different ways we can end up looking at something with enough time. I've never really considered that all they wanted was Jack, I always assumed there was some other motive. Clearly, we need DLC or ME3 before we analyze everything from 12 different perspectives and go nuts. =]

Yes. They wanted to use her like that cult used her. They wanted her to be their "ace in the whole." This super soldier that they could use for whatever. This has happened in several movies and games. Like you mentioned, Cerberus spent two years and invested heavily into bringing back just Shepard. In resident evil there was the Nemesis program to create that single super powerful monster-thing. There was the Alice program that focused solely on that one chick. The weapon-X program to make wolverine beastmode, which didn't turn out well so then they made deadpool, which also didn't turn out well, so they made that asian chick like wolverine, which also didn't turn out well, but you know what I'm get'n at.

Well, you have to take into account that Cerberus routinely makes terrible investments and carries out projects that make absolutely no sense, from an ethical perspective or from a cost/benefit standpoint. In fact, over the course of that wave of "Is Cerberus really bad?" threads we had a while ago, one of the general conclusions was that the only Cerberus initiative that's actually a reasonable investment was the Lazarus Project (and even that has the potential of not turning out so well for them depending on how Shepard plays it)

That's the one flaw in the ol' "single-serving supersoldier" concept - nuke the SOB from orbit. All your time and investment goes to ash. Why make one when you have the tech and resources to make more? It's terrible business sense - unless you're making it for a single mission; one special job (or one special set of jobs) that only one special person can perform. If you wanted an assassin, it's more efficient to just shoot your target (unless you want it to look like an accident - which I think biotics would be quite appropriate for, but cutting someone's brake cables is easier than making a super-biotic to mess up a vehicle in motion, unless you really need it to look 100% like an accident).

I keep thinking about those renegade L2 biotics, or that biotic cult... if a super-biotic went on a rampage, that would give anti-biotic groups a lot of ammo... perhaps force research on biotics to stop, or be more extremely policed... and if only Cerberus front-companies are doing the research... lots of cash for Cerberus, but hardly advancing human interests...

Need a better idea as to what they could have been up to... will think on this more...

I haven't played ME1, so I don't know as much about Cerberus as most others. Which is interesting, because when I was finished playing through ME2 I found myself thinking that Cerberus really wasn't that bad. In fact, I didn't consider saving the Collector base all that "evil" (I did blow it up though). Then I came to these forums, and found that a lot of people think Cerberus is the worst group of people ever. So I found it interesting that, taken on their actions in ME2 alone, Cerberus doesn't seem that bad. (Overall; obviously the things they did to Jack are beyond messed up.)

My guess is the plan for Jack was similar to the experiments with all sorts of monsters they made in ME1. Something to put in a cage and use as a shock troop if necessary. If they did actually go rogue, then they probably wanted to get it right with Jack, and then show TIM so he'd ok creating more super-biotics. Then again, maybe we're just overthinking it. Cerberus' motivations don't seem to make much more sense than those of the Reapers. How was humanity advanced by dropping a squad of marines right on top of a Threser Maw?

If you get the chance to ever play ME1, it's worth it.  In the first game, Cerberus ends up looking pretty much like the terrorist group that Jacob at one point describes it as being. It's especially interesting if you play the game from the viewpoint of Shepard being a lone survivor from a fight on the planet Akuze where he ends up being the only marine to survive an attack by several thresher maws. You learn later on that the thresher maw attack was orchestrated by Cerberus scientists to test their capabilities.

By the end of ME1, Cerberus basically comes across as nothing more than a bunch of crazy terrorists who "fight for humanity" by apparently causing numerous human deaths.

Well that Tombs guy said they wanted to see what would happen when they had thresher maw acid in their veins. Probably to see if it would have any beneficial effects. It seems like Cerberus is trying to make an army of whatever they can gather. Rachni, Thorian creepers, part human part thresher maw things, and a super biotic.

I know, it's terrible. But when ME1 first came out, it was 360 only, which I didn't have. Took half a year for it to come out on PC, and by that time I had forgotten about it. I'd go and buy it now, but I feel like I'd have trouble going *back* in the series, both story- and gameplay-wise. I've heard people have trouble going back to ME1 after playing ME2 because the systems are so different.

And why would they lock the best thread anywhere on the entire internet? I don't know. Maybe once we get into the thousands of pages, but that'll be like 3 years.

Yeah. We actually stay on topic so there should be no reason for them to lock this thread. The Tali fan thread has been locked like 4 times for offtopicness, and the Miranda and Garrus fan thread were warned for offtopicness like 2 weeks ago.

If they did lock our thread I would be pissed. But then we could move to the Jack thread I created a super long time ago and then we'll actually have an interesting OP. *Stares at AverageGatsby*
