Name three bands, groups or artists, you
could see Jack listening too if she showed up in your apartment, room,
house, wherever. What I'm after is an angle that isn't all business to
the character, in a form I can relate too, moreover other peoples
opinions on that side of her personality.

Culture Club, Bananarama, and Kaga Goo Goo. :wizard:

Jack and my record collection... hmmm...

Skinny Puppy (any album would do)
The Supersuckers (Sacrilicious Sounds specifically)
The Aloof (Sinking is about right I think)

The Aloof would be something she would maybe find relaxing, like the thrum of the drive core. The Supersuckers are just ballsy, crude, fun hick-rock perfect for getting ****faced to and then having a punch-up. And the Puppy simply because the range of soundscapes they produce is something I'd like to think she'd find interesting; swinging from smoke-belching industrial hate to sinuous enveloping introspection to lilting electronic erotica - you can destroy to it, weep to it, or **** someone senseless to it... perrrrrrfect ^_^

She might express an interest in my Aphex Twin too, though I imagine my Miles Davis will get laughed to scorn.

I see Jack as into old school punk. So, the Ramones, Clash, and she'd never admit it but, Joni Mitchell.:wizard:

I had that conversation with BlackMetal in the Samara thread about Varg, "Until the Light Takes Us", and those Satanists who burned down those ancient Scandinavian churches.  Didn't see it?

Nothing wrong with Joni - I've got a copy of Hejira here that gets played at least once a week B)

Huh?  No I don't recall that.  I do remember something about you and BalckMetal sharing your same taste in music.

Varg Vikernes sounds like a pretty bad individual according to Wikipedia anyway.

Very, very interesting guy.  Most crazies are.  Varg is iconic to most metalheads.

Okay this is a semi serious, but hopefully slightly original question to anyone who cares about the character.

-Judas Priest
Jack does seem like the type who would love Judas Priest.

-Voltaire
I'm sure she'll appreciate some of his songs.

-Motörhead
Who doesn't love Lemy?

If you go by cutscene power, Jack should be able to slaughter just about everything and everyone; she destroys a series of heavy mechs, a small army of mercs and causes critical damage to a space platform just making for the exit sign. Thane can take down small groups in close combat using guns elegantly and mixed melee abilities. Legion can blow heads off at range (yet a right hook can deactivate him). Samara can levitate herself and others... oh, and furniture too. Zaeed can shoot well even when pissed off and beat up unarmed batarians. Garrus can hold off an army of mercs for several days at a choke point. Kasumi does impossible acrobatics and deactivates high tech. Tali cries. Miranda slings asari about, executes traitors and takes her top off. Grunt beats Shep up, beats Uvenk up, headbutts windows and in one questionable medium at least one-shot a thresher-maw. Jacob can shoot light mechs up and show them the "good stuff." Mordin has a mean right hook and has no qualms about shooting pupils in the face.

I laughed.  I'm man enough to admit it.

Haha yeah so did I. That was a nice one Mondo.

If we're going by cutscene powers, then Jack would win a handicap match of her vs. everyone else. Minus Shepard of course, because c'mon, it's Shepard. Shepard wipes his ass with Chuck Norris. Ok maybe she couldn't take them all on at once, but she would crush anyone in a one on one.

The arguement about a possible X-factor is unrealistic I think. It's like in that Deadliest Warriors show on Spike TV. Whenever one team is getting destroyed in all the tests, they try to make up this crap like, "Oh yeah well my warrior would loopdy loop around and do a spinny kick and while the guy is stunned they would train a tiger to maul the guy's face off." And everyone is like, "yeaaah.... no." And as a surprise to no one, the warrior losing in all the tests gets destroyed in the simulations.

Interesting thanks guys :)

I would peg Jack as a distillers girl, but then i'm biased, which is why I asked! :D.

Supersuckers is a definite good choice too, cheers anyway, interesting thoughts.

Now that you mention it, Voltaire does have a few rather interesting space-themed songs. I think Jack might be quite partial to tracks like "Cantina" and "The Sexy Data Tango".

Accept her for who she is! Even if she listens to garbage! And try to turn her onto something better!

After having encountered that now-infamous "Miracles" video, I would have to say that as far as music goes, nobody poses a greater threat to all that is good and decent than the Insane Clown Posse (or whoever their future equivalents are). Anyone caught listening to that would be drawn and quartered, and then delivered to the Reapers.

Pretty much, yeah.

I'm trying to use in-game stuff while compensating for some of the x-factors, like the T-Bone Defense.  Yeah, my proposition is a cheap-shot wing-and-a-prayer, but sometimes that's all you need.  I'm not saying T-Bone would have the presence of mind to go straight for the hearing aid, but on the off-chance she does, Jack is at best incapacitated and at worst dead.

And just as a rule, I don't trust cutscenes.

Well, in that case...I think you were more than a little dismissive of Miranda! She's arguably the best all-around, versatile party member. She would easily trump Jack in a pseudo-deathmatch. Run from cover to cover, warp, warp, warp...feeling stylish? Slam for the fatality!

Sadly, just basing this off of in-game mechanics alone puts Jack, and every other shotgun/pistol wielder, at a serious disadvantage.

-edit. In respect to music...

How could Jack not listen to Pretty Hate Machine?

Something like Morinth's domination, but even more subversive. Basically, mentally enslaving a human nerd, and any of his fellows in close proximity, by the prospect of letting them get into your Quarian pants. Incidentally, those who haven't gotten into another human's pants before are far more susceptible.

I'm pretty sure Jack would call me a **** upon a glimpse of my music collection. I might get points for Pink Floyd if Jack heard that while high on red sand.

Apparently you can summon them by saying that name three times in front of a mirror in the dark.

I double-dog dare you to try it!
