Pretty much the whole game will be Shepard running around fighting **** Zombies with Jack at his side and then if you get killed you can have emotional conversations with her while you wait for your respawn timer.
You can use that, Bioware. No charge.
I agree with everything you have said about Jack...because plain and simple, she is awesome.
However, these statements are a sad thing to see, the objective should be to improve and have more of both genre's. You do not necessarily have to give up one to improve the other. How about we get the improved shooter qualities, without having to give up anything RPG wise or even improving them. I really don't think you'd want all the RPG element stripped from it(as the dialogue options are a part of that).
They make a new shooters every month. IMHO I think its the most played out genre in video games. Point and shoot, forget about story or anything else for that matter...the thing I liked about ME2 and more so ME1..was that it was a unique experience. There are very few games that are made this way...Fallout 3, Oblivion, Tov, Fable 2 are the only ones I can think of on the 360. You have real time combat(no dice rolling or waiting for turns to attack), with all the depth of an RPG.
I really hope they make ME3 more of a RPG. More dialogue, More options!!!

Heh. Don't mind that post. That was just me tweaking ZennEx... I mean, tweaking those blank walls of black that were being posted a while back.
In truth, I think ME2 did a good job of removing a lot of the unnecessary cruft that most RPGs build up, but I'll concede that maybe some of those things could have been replaced by something maybe a little simpler, instead of removed altogether. We'll see how the Hammerhead does as far as replacing the Mako (soon, I hope; I'm looking forward to new missions to bring Jack along to for her to get snarky in), and I suppose I wouldn't mind have a few more options for equipment. Not the unholy mess that was the hundreds of weapons, armors, and mods from ME1, but maybe 2x-3x what's in ME2 wouldn't be too bad.
Truth be told, I'm really more of an adventure gamer than an RPG player. I've gotten into RPGs mostly because adventure games are pretty much dead, and RPGs currently have the best storylines out there (WESTERN RPGs, that is, don't get me started on those JRPGs...). But I've gotten into the habit of RPGs now, and I appreciate them as what they are.
And Jack is the type of character I've always had a weakness for. Like the first RPG love story I played through, Jaheira in BG2: a bit rough around the edges, but with hidden emotions just waiting to be discovered.

Yeah, I haven't seen it on YouTube, but it's pretty amusing. Telling Shepard to be cautious, as powerful biotics like Jack can... lose control of their abilities during the act.

That's one of the reasons I like Jack, and think she should definitely be back for ME3: most of the other characters really don't have much more to develop. I mean, I enjoy the character of Tali (and yeah, it's pretty much a 100% lock she'll be back for 3), but really, where else is there to go with the character? You know pretty much all there is to know about her personality. There might be interesting new events of the past to find out about the other squadmates too, but as far as their personality goes, we've probably seen all the growth there is to seen.
The one reason I worry that BioWare might limit Jack's appearances in ME3, or eliminate them altogether, is that they've got to take Jack's entire character in two, maybe even three directions. I suppose the version where you never talked to her (or were a FemShep) and the one where you gave her the ol' Renegade screw are close enough, but those choices and the choice to romance her as a Paragon lead to two, probably radically different characters. And the more screen time those two characters have, the more sets of two lines might have to be recorded in order to deal with those two divergent realities. (Been watching too much Lost recently.
If I had my druthers, every single character from ME1 and ME2 would be back, and ME3 would take up as many discs as it needed. But reality is, BioWare can only put so much space in there.
I'm not really somebody who's big on these "fan threads." I've said before that I'm almost a big a fan of Tali's romance path as I am of Jack's. But Tali's got enough support as it is, I'm sure you can see. And when fan support can do something as big as get romances for Garrus and Tali, it's obvious that the devs are paying attention.
So I feel like I gotta be a booster for Jack, because she's the one character that 1) I really enjoy in this game and want to see more of in ME3 and 2) doesn't have the highest fan support and therefore is iffy about coming back.
P.S. Odd. Another one of those black bars. I happened to stroll by the Thane fan-thread and saw one too, but nobody over there even acknowledged it. It's like somebody's pathetically trying to get somebody to pay attention to these featureless black bars, but nobody's giving a damn.

In all likelihood it will simply be "Did you romance her paragon-wise or not?", as going the renegade path and not bothering at all lead to basically the same outcome. If you took the former route, then it's a matter of merely adding the requisite 3-4 "romance" scenes which might reveal a little more of her "changed" personality. Everything else can remain the same.

Yeah, maybe. I don't think any of us would enjoy them turning Jack into a lovey-dovey, "Oh, I wuv my widdle Shepard teddy bear, but not enough to use his first name" Chickified girl just because she got a little weepy with him one night. Part of the charm of Jack is that she isn't afraid to speak her mind, and that bluntness can be pretty hilarious sometimes. And I'm sure BioWare probably understands that too.
So, yeah, you might be right, and I might just be letting my pessimistic nature shine through like a dull, brown ray. I imagine that if Paragon Jack did come back, she'd probably be a lot like she was before: still crude, mean-spirited, and blunt as ever. But once she gets Shepard alone...

We've all seen how volatile Jack can be when all she wants is revenge... can you imagine how she'd treat something that threatens the *one* thing in the entire universe she actually gives a **** about?

Ya that's what I think. The renegade sex scene will probably lead her to not talking to you very much, so that won't create a lot of work for BioWare with that path. If you romanced her in ME2 then there should be significant differences in dialogue than if you just talked to her a few times or didn't talk to her at all. So it's just two paths that BioWare really has to work on with Jack. I don't think BioWare would dig themselves a hole they cannot fill. I have faith in BioWare.

I thought it was Jack is a great change of pace from you usual stock NPC females. I giggled like a school girl when Shepard 1st talks to her paragon style, and she insults him right off the bat. It was refreshing.
Lol I thought the same thing. When she called me a **** I was totally caught off gaurd. No other squadmate flat out insults you. I was like "wow finally a squadmate with some balls, and she's a chick." I thought it was very refreshing and funny.

I'm the kind of BioWare gamer who plays through over and over again with different characters just to ferret out as many dialogue options as humanly possible. But I did break down and fire up a "canon" Shepard just to hear Ashley's reponse when she found out I dumped her for Jack.
Now I know most people would go for a liara/Jack confrontation, but the dream fight isn't between Ali and an Ali clone. It's between Ali and Tyson.

I said it like 3 times before but I think I'll say it again, which is that Jack needed like 10 more conversations at least for me to develop interest in her. There was something that was just about to begin there but then it was cut short. Seriously, there needs to be more than one "romance" conversation before people do the deed.
I didn't need more conversations to become interested in Jack. But I agree that there should be more conversations for every character, even when not pursueing them as a LI.

Yeah, I've said before: I miss the old days when there wasn't full voice acting, so BioWare could write as much dialogue as they wanted, and let relationships play out as long as they had to. The romances in BG2 had, like, TWENTY different conversations, and really took their time to play out, with multiple branches the conversations could take. But now that there's more than just text to write, we're lucky if we get four or five, and they usually don't deviate much from one path.
Not BioWare's fault, and I can see their side of it: the romances are, in the end, just a small portion of the game experience, and to devote a lot more space to them would detract from the actual plot. But still, part of the reason to be a big booster for Jack in ME3: to at least get a few more convos out of her.

I much prefer less dialogue but having characters actually speak the lines. I hate how in DA:O my character never speaks, I can't stand it. I don't get remotely as attached to the characters as I do in Mass Effect because my character feels like a lifeless robot.
