Defending Jack again on 4chan. It's the neverending task.

Well, york, your first problem is that you're going to 4chan. Trying to defend a work of art in that place is like passing out tolerance pamphlets in Alabama.

It keeps my knowledge of Jack's character sharp, and it lets me hone my selective vision skills.

Were you on /v/? Cuz I was just busy talking about Jack on a ME2 thread on /v/.  Still am, actually, just not actually about Jack... Just ME2 general.

Something tells me Mondo's Jack canon is going to be more satisfying than what BioWare comes up with. Call it a hunch.

Maybe, I just hope they sometimes lurk in our thread and check out Mondo's fantastic work (sign her up!) Mondo's is the first blog I've decided subscribing to, with her fanfics I'm able to hear Mark Meer and Courtenay Taloy say those lines.  Jack and Sheperd - Walking After You is still my favorite...probably cuz I romanced Ash in ME1 and I could picture that scene. :bandit:

For any recent posters who haven't read this one by Mondo, enjoy :wizard:

Oh yeah that one is my favorite.

Saying that is 'a lost cause' is an understatement. Argueing on 4chan is like trying to convince the earth to not have gravity.

I left once people started talking about /34/ of Samara.  I was surprised to see so many ME threads there, though.

Just saw the post you were talking about, and... gone. I'm outta there. It only goes downhill from there.

It's /v/, guys, really. Take a sip of water, and calm down.

I am calm.  The only people dumb enough to get angry about /v/ are the people too dumb to talk about /v/ and 4chan on a meta-level.  So, no one in this thread.

I think york is well aware of this.  Can't speak for stereo though.  I  have visited that place a few times, and I don't have the stomach for it myself.

Out of curiosity, what selective vision skills are you referring too?

4chan has taught my eyes to "filter" out certain words and/or blocks of text that I know are being posted by trolls.  For example, when ME2 first came out, the trolls on /v/ just wouldn't stop posting these horrid fanfics created for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of ME2 fans.  Most of these fanfics involved popular ME2 characters getting maimed and/or violated and/or killed in horrific ways.  The trolls never bothered to reformat the fanfics, though, so my eyes knew to just blur out familiar blocks of text with similar formatting.

Daily. There's good threads every so often. And I get a lot of information about new releases if I'm interested. I like spoilers, tbh.

Do those certain words get posted in the Bioware forum very often?

No   I frequent the smart threads, and these forums actually have mods.

The more I think about this, the more it strikes me as a wacky kind of genius.  "A place for a girl to stop and catch her breath."  One of 'em actally said it to Shepard and it applies to both.  By Christ, I can't wait.

Ok, ok, I'll get something to eat and a bar of Dairy Crunch and I'll get started... bloody public, I tell you... ;)

I don't want to be the one responsible for harrying an artist, but we were talking about 4Chan... I had to save the thread... I had to save us all...

I have no idea who or what 4Chan is and maybe I'm better not to know!

Some forum for anime geeks as far as I know. Never been there myself, just heard things off-hand.

I can't stand anime.  4chan's not only for anime.  There are non-anime boards on 4chan.  I got some of my ideas for the Mass Effect Magic cards from /tg/ (Traditional Games)  I think my card for Jack is a little OP.

I think I'd describe it is a sprawling set of forums for numerous facets of pop culture (gaming, cinema, music, comics, etc.) BUT it is also a home for trading pictures of vile diseases, mutilated corpses and nude pictures duped out of vulnerable girls... so it seems to represent both the best and worst of the internets, and it's filled with the usual slew of electronic s**t-ticks - the arrogant pseudo-intellectuals, the ranters, the fanbois and the rampant bigots.

Hence, in the words of the song, I stay away. :D
