I agree about Miranda. I find her to be the type of girl who goes out with the captain of the football team just because he's the captain of the football team. And I think most of the audience that her character is aimed to attract, expect little to no more than that.
Very likely true, which, if you think about it, is a disservice to Miranda. Her character has an enormous potential to move past that stereotype, given the glimpses we saw during her loyalty mission, and her interactions with Lanteia, Jacob and Niket. The brief look on her face when she told Jacob that she 'keeps her promises' showed enormous class on her part, I thought, and a genuine desire to do the right thing by those who have dealt with her fairly. She's a very capable woman and no one's toy, but she was painted with curt brushstrokes and she deserves better treatment.
I too find Tali's romance kinda creepy. She's been like a little sister to Shepard throughout both ME games, and to romance her would feel a bit incestuous. That's just my opinion though.
That was the word I had been thinking of, and couldn't articulate: incestuous. Tali is a great character, she has a very interesting story arc, and if I didn't like her so much, I might have enjoyed the idea of a relationship with her more, if you follow me. As it was, it simply made me uncomfortable trying it more than once.
I also agree with why you think so many females like Jack, but I also think it has something to do with their stronger maternal feelings. Mondo has said this several times. Their inner parent yells at them to help this extremely troubled young girl.
I'll have to take their word for that. I wonder how the paternal sides of things shape up in this context? I wonder what the dads think?
EDIT: unneeded words.
