She may be tough and badass but I guess all females want to feel pretty.
That's kind of my point. She seems to favor androgyny for her physical appearance, but she wears makeup.

I'm sorry I know there's a sensitive side deep down with her and everything, but in my oppinion Jack would kill shepard a thousand times over before she would wear that dress.
Oh, you're talking about the dress, not about my question. I wasn't clear.

Some women may consider wearing makeup would be like wearing armor. Putting on the war paint before they're ready to face the world, so to speak.
That makes me wonder where Jack learned to apply makeup in the first place, and why the habit stuck.

When you say she seems to favor androgyny, are you saying it is physiological, or psychological, or both?yorkj86 wrote...

Physically, in terms of aesthetics. Her clothes don't push her in any particular direction.
You trying to lead me across a minefield, JD? I may have led myself there, without you

Yeah I agree. I see almost no androgyny in her appearance. Showing off the "twins" definitely doesn't make her look less female. Plus she wears make up. Her pants, boots, and hair are the only things not typical of females. But her hair doesn't make her look butchy at all imo.

By that measure, there's the makeup. You make a move on her based solely on how pretty she is and you get the fling scene and a "F**K OFF!" for your trouble. It's just a way to see who she's dealing with by how they deal with her. She's controlling her environment the best way she can.

She shows off her myriad tattoos, but ask her about them and you get "They're none of your business. They're nobody's business."
Well that's only a few certain tattoos that she says are nobody's business.
As for her make up. I think she wears it for herself, to make herself feel better. I don't think she wears it to attract men, which is obvious since she pushes those away who try to get to close to her.

Splendid. Here is your 1000 internetz and gift certificate for a free trip to the salad bar at Sizzler.
Seriously though, had I internetz and certificates to give out, they'd be yours. Extra kudos for hiding your signature on the right side of her stomach.

I can't see her in a dress either. It's one of the reasons I think the picture's so funny.trucoolbrees wrote...
