If you take Miranda's side in the fight between her and Jack, the renegade option to re-obtain Jack's loyalty is, iirc, "You're cute when your mad." I don't have enough renegade points to choose that option because I'm such a nice guy, but I'm dieing to hear what Shepard says when you choose that option and what Jack's response is. Anyone know?

Jack - I got nothing to say. Why don't you go talk to Miranda.

Shepard - What's the matter? Can't take it? Maybe you're losing your edge.

Jack - I've turned people inside out for a hell of a lot less. What are you doing?

Shepard - You're tough when you're pissed. Besides, how would you react if I kissed your ass?

Jack - I'd call you a p*ssy and trash your ship when you turned your back. *smiles* Alright, I'll let it slide. Once! You're lucky you already helped me.

Shepard - I should go!

Jack - Then get the hell out of here.

Nice.  I feel my life is more complete now.  If only I knew what the Paragon reaction was, as I will never, EVER side with Miranda in that argument.  That's about as likely as me spontaneously becoming Karl Malone.

Oh, and fun fact, according to the Dragon Age wikia, Courtenay Taylor does the voice set for the "cocky" female Dwarf Wardens.  So loading up a Jack into DA:O?  Technically possible.  She'll just be very stubby with no magic powers.

If you choose the paragon option Shepard says he was just giving Miranda lip service, and Jack says, "Alright well just don't do it again. You're lucky you already helped me." Or something like that.

But with the renegade option I love how Shepard does the whole reverse psychology thing like with that one Krogan scout on Mordin's loyalty mission. "I thought you were a badass."

Hmm, well fret not Little Paw.  It sounds as though you may be entering a stage of pre-adolescent pubescence.  All of us here in the Jack thread are understanding of this though.  Relationships can be a little tricky whenever your starting out this early.  The whole boy meets girl thing is a little awkward at first.  Good luck and keep plugging away at it, you'll get there eventually.:)

So I've been thinking about things that could happen in ME3. One thing I thought would be interesting is if Shepard were to get abducted by the collectors (there's got to be some left) or reapers, and I was thinking about how your squad would react, especially your LI. If Miranda was your LI I picture her being very sad but able to hold it together and bottle it up. Same with Tali because you saw it with her father. Jack on the other hand, I don't think she would handle it well at all. She's not very good at handling her emotions. I think she would be devastated and really pissed off at the same time. She would probably think part of it is her fault because of her pecimistic logic.

What do you guys think?

I'm not sure Jack would become depressed.  I think she would try to do something about the situation.  I don't know how to say it without making Shepard seem intrinsically more valuable from a romance standpoint than Murtock, just by virtue of Shepard being Shepard, but I think that Jack, after having met Shepard, would have finally had enough of running from her problems.  She'd do something about the situation.

She might think it's partly her fault, but I agree with york that she'd do something - if "doing something" means hauling out a buttload of BFGs and going out to kick some quad.  I'm pretty sure the rest of the squad would be right there beside her too.  All of which would lead to some very bad times for whoever was stupid enough to grab Shepard.

Someone (forgot who, sorry) said something in this thread a while ago that I think fits this scenario (paraphrased of course): "Mess with anyone Jack cares about and get ready for a righteous buttkicking."

Well if that one time with the turian space station over that thing with the outlaw colony was any indication... :D We'll see how many more moons Jack would "vandalize" for Shepard.

I definitely think she would overreact to the situation given her personality.  It all depends on how much time went on between ME2 and 3 too.  Given a long intermission between action and working with Shepard she might learn a modicum of patience and pragmatism and then again maybe not.  I do see her and Grunt grabbing the guns and to hell with waiting for the Calvary.

That's a good point. But in the conversation about Murtock, if you choose the renegade option where Shepard says, "How many batarians did you kill that time?", she says it wasn't their fault, it was Murtock's fault. So I'm assuming that means she didn't go back and kill those batarians for revenge. Maybe she was so saddened by the situation that she couldn't even muster up the will to get revenge on those batarians. Or maybe she truely believed it wasn't their fault, and that it was her's or Murtock's fault. Her logic is a little screwed up after all. But if Shepard was just suddenly abducted, not from a situation where he risked his life to save Jack, her reaction may be different from the Murtock situation, and she may want to get some serious payback on whoever took Shepard.

I finally had the misfortune of stumbling across some rule 34 involving Jack. And on this site of all places. Ah well, my innocent mind was nice while it lasted. :?

I was wondering how that played out. I didn't have the heart to side with Miranda at any point there. Thanks.

Also, a very belated woo on reaching 200 pages. (I must recap at some point) Huzzah!

Personally, I think the Murtock line is yet another of her (I think it was royce who first used the term; sorry if my memory's faulty) verbal deflections.  As in, "He was crazy enough to 'love' me and that got him killed," or "He should have saved his own skin instead of going back for me, so it was his fault."  It's her way of denying that his death hurt her or that she needed to do something to avenge him.

But once you get past that conversation and reach the end of the Paragon LI path, I think it's certainly possible that Shepard would work to convince her that it wasn't Murtock's fault, that it's the sort of sacrifice people make for the ones they love.  It would be a tough sell, certainly, but I can see Shepard trying.
