[Lady of the Waters]

I've never very much liked the whole support thread thing to be honest... I mean sure it's great to have threads for characters you like but I feel as if it is dividing the community. It's like each support thread is it's own seperate clan. The members of the Tali clan (Tali-ban) keep peace with the Miranda clan (Miridians) but neither one dares to roam into the others thread lest all hell break loose. The Ash clan and Kaidan (Kaidanites) clan have long held a pact, but there is still a subtle rivalry among them. Then there is the Liara, Garrus, Samara, Thane and Jack clan... and perhaps even hints of the start of a Shiala clan. The last thing either wants is war.



I dislike that I basically have to "belong" to one of these clans or else I really have no sway on the forums... I have to belong somewhere or else people will not be interested in an in-depth discussion. Is it not possible for a person to like all or none of the squadmembers? It is dividing way the forum way too much IMO and is taking up the campaign quests and storylines forum which I would have thought would be reserved for actual questions about the story...

Or.... you could do what I do, and just come and go in any thread that you like. Me: I frequent the Jack, Tali, and Kasumi threads. Just don't say you think that another character is better then the one that thread is about. Most ,if not all, people will let you come and go in peace as long as you don't diss their character.

We're not krogan. I think you are exaggerating.

I have no idea who belongs to which fan threads except the frequenters of this thread and the Samara thread. Never have I read someone's post and thought, "Omg he doesn't post in one of the character threads often, he has no credibility." I don't know where you're getting the idea of a "war" starting between two character threads. It's silly and sensationalistic to believe this. The fan threads are just (supposed to be) a place to discuss people's favorite characters, although, unlike this thread, most of them are simply chat rooms.

We have no problems with anyone posting in here as long as they are not trolls. We don't care if people come in here and say something like, "Yeah Jack is ok, but my favorite character is [other character]." We are not bloodthirsty zealots like those you'll find in most character threads.

Alright, time for me to stop lurking in the shadows...actually, I was trying to read the entire topic but gave up at page 150, a lot of good content I must say.



Jack is definitely my favourite LI in the ME universe. Period. Hands down the most emotional moments came from being with Jack. The sensuality of the final romantic moment before the omega 4 relay gripped my heart and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm glad that I'm redoing my main MaleShep to be single to ME2 just for Jack.



I, for once, didn't do a lot of research into ME2 before its release as I wanted the full impact, but I did see the Subject Zero promotion video, and I actually enjoyed it and wanted to have her on the team right away. Finding out she was an LI was a bonus that I wasn't expecting and I screwed up on my trial playthrough, took the quick result and had Miranda for the romantic conclusion.



I know I've missed many of the in-depth and riveting conversations, but I hope that I'll be able to contribute to the Jackolyte community.

Safest and best way to go IMO is to have no ME1 LI. I didn't really like either Ashley or Liara as love interests so that was easy for me. The reason I think it's safe is because Bioware said there will be consequences for cheating. As to what they are - I imagine them to be at the very least choosing one or the other, but it could be worse. As to why it's best, I like to think it's optimal for the ME2 love interest to think that Shep doesn't have anyone else. They may look at Ashley, KAidan and Liara go "You left them - are you going to do the same to me?"

Just my opinion though.

Nah, Ashley's alright.  I'd like to see how she would interact with Jack.  I wonder if it would be in any way similar to Miranda's interactions with Jack.

Ashley doesn't like Cerberus so there are some points there. They are also both...not sure how to call it. They like a good fight - Ashley as a soldier and Jack in general. They could bond that way. At most I could see them dislike each other I guess, but nothing to the point of Miranda and Jack.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking will happen. The simple path to take on BioWare's part would be to have some charm/intimidate option that requires a ton of paragon/renegade points to gain access to, that allows you to maintain your ME2 relationship. It would be nice if BioWare made the confrontation a little more interesting and complex than just having some charm/intimidate option make everything all better.

Well my original main shep was near pure renegade and I prefer a more renegon playthrough now, particulatily about the rachni and keeping grunt and legion.  I may reromance Ash for Bane Shepard(new main) and have that much anticipated collision in ME3, but I"m not sure at this point.

Oh, and I'm a 360 player, have been tempted to pick up the Collectors edition for pc though...I've been thinking of a music video project based on Jack and I need a capture device to send the video from my 360 to my laptop for compilation.  Got the idea from a very well and beautifully done Tali video.

The only MaleShep I have through from ME1 is Draco my pure Renegade, he even has Morinth on his team.  As well as Grunt and Legion, just couldn't hand them over to Cerberus.  He did get the paragon romance with Jack though, had to see the eyes up close for myself.

Just got caught up and read all 3 of your stories. You did a good job with them, I agree with everyone here that they kept getting better (not to say they started bad, but you seemed to get more comfortable with it). Looking forward to the next one

Oh yeah, he's the crazy jerk Shepard, Soldier class, Ruthless Colonist, always cut off the council, punches reporters, overall insane, but he's good to use.

I'm trying to play as a FemShep for the first time, a Spacer War Hero Adept and I'm having a real hard time a) connecting with her and surviving.  Tried to pull off my Insanity run with her, got smoked almost every mission.  I'm no good at relying on special powers, I'm a shoot'em up guy.

Back to Jack and my other project, I was trying to find a good mellow song to have playing during her romance scene with Shepard.  I already have Monster and Hero to play during her intro and when you're breaking down her walls, but haven't come up with anything for those intimate moments yet.

Wow, you decided on the complete opposite of shoot'em up classes then.

The key to an Adept's survival is the careful use of Singularity. A well placed Singularity will provide you ample time to unleash SMG death. Also, I find you need a completely different set of squadmates for backup, because biotic abilities are designed to compliment each other. Warp Ammo is probably the best bonus power you can have with that class as well, because of the increased damage against anything under a biotic effect.

I was just discussing the biotic powers of the various squadmates on the Samara thread. I decided Thane should have gotten warp ammo so that Jack's loyalty power could be something a little more devastating. I don't know if that should be Singularity or an entirely new biotic power.
