Yeah, the discussion in the latest couple pages has been pretty decent, it's just the initial OP and a few following posts that make me want to smash my head through a wall. Rape is a sensitive subject within my family, so I really can't describe my irritation with the few idiots that were trying to make jokes out of it. Decided not to reply to them though, as there's no point in getting into a fight over "teh interwebz."

Anyway, this is why I like the Jack thread, every topic is discussed in a civil and thoughtful manner. No chat rooms here.

  The civility here is actually pretty funny concidering Jack's character. Ya know, all the murdering and stuff.

Well the topic in that thread has somewhat switched to the development of Jack's character without romancing her. And this guy is (stupidly) arguing that Jack has no depth unless you romance her, but every other character does. And I'm just blown away by the idiocy of that view. Hello?! Have you never done her loyalty mission? That mission adds a huge amount of depth to Jack's character. Some writer from a video game website wrote a whole article about how much depth Jack's loyalty mission adds to her character.

Seriously. With her past she's like the spasific in terms of depth. And she got a crapload of dialogue if you take her on missions.

Can't believe that people can be so ignorant on the subject of rape. Regardless of the fact that Jack is a fictional character, rape is a sensitive topic and shouldn't be discussed in the manner the OP did. ROAR!

Ugh, glad I got that out, at least when the topic was discussed here, it was sensible and polite.

Edit: was talking about the first bit on that thread, couldn't read much past it.  Sorry if anyone misinterpreted it.

I agree, the subject in question was discussed in a distasteful matter, and is rather insulting of rape victims. But this forum is in no shortage of stupid topics, so in that light while I am annoyed I am not surprised.

What makes you say that SpiderFan?  It feels like a contradiction to you?

I go to a lot of character theads and the people here are usally the most civil. It's funny that the most uncivilized squadmate has the most civil fans.

I can sort of see where that person is coming from, but for the most part he seems way too nitpicky. Sure Jack doesn't get as much development unromanced, but its still a hell of alot more compared to other characters. She went from a complete 'keep the hell away from me' atittude to actually saying "I like you" (to FemShep at least, before giving the girl's club line and cutting off further dialogue-- but my point still stands! It's Progress!).
