That first picture we see actually looks like the tattoos that adorn Jack's arms. Funny, I always noticed the large omega symbol, but not the skull in the middle of it. I wonder if the initial impetus to Jack covering her body with tattoos was a desire to cover up the medical markings. Probably. But then you'd wonder why she just wouldn't walk around covered up. Dual shame and pride over what she lived through, I think.

Also I just noticed that on an unfinished CGI model of Jack, the word "HUMAN" is tattoo'd across the top of that skull tattoo. I wonder why. It doesn't appear on Jack's finished model, just this one.

The tattoos going down the length of her arms are spinal columns with various sized ribs, whole and fractured. I think that depending on where the rib is located and its condition indicates a specific time in her life that something important happened. Kind of like a timeline of her life.

Oh yeah . It looked like something that would go along her spine, and the top thing would go on the back of her skull. I guess seeing it flattened out threw me off.

The "human" tattoo I can see being an artifact of running with less reputable humans or with the cult. The whole Terra Firma, earth-first kind of mentality that I imagine a lot of those people having. I'm glad it didn't make it to the final cut, because I really don't want to see someone like Jack spouting a tattoo that personifies one of Cerberus's mantras. Nice irony, but one I'm glad wasn't given to Jack.

hey jack fans. normally im on the tali thread but the guys there are being jerks so i thought id look at some more threads. jack is pretty cool. her romance is so emotional which is why i like it. i got butterflies when shep hugged her and she cried

Makes sense. The whole "adding contradictions to add complexity of character" thing is a bit tired.

Good talking point, though. Jack's feelings on aliens, that is.

-edit. On one hand, she's more than a little distrustful, so I could see that translating into her opinion of other species. By that same token, though, she's suffered a lot at the hands of other humans, and I could see her perhaps having a little bit of an affinity for them.

Hmm, Jack's tattoos...

The numbers that are scattered about interest me. Especially the strange circles and line with the 099 on her forearms. Since they're with her first 'medical' layer of tattoos they're obviously related to the experiments she went through on Teltin, but why would those numbers be so special that she would tattoo them on her body?

Could the row of circles that trail on either side of her spinal and arm scars be the places where she was injected or somesuch? Enhancements to her bones, some form of implants, etc. etc.

Maybe those circles show where some type of machine used little spikes to pucture the skin and peel it off/hold it back so the scientists could add whatever enhancements they wanted too (might explain the surgical scars). That seems really over the top though... must be my exhaustion, it's late where I live and for some reason I have morbid thoughts when I'm tired. Too bed with me!

EDIT: ^That pic above me makes me cringe. That scar looks painful...

ok i guess u must be the boss of that thread even tho im pretty much free to express my opinion in that thread about tali and in here with jack so get off my nuts, i even was getting called dumb last night and tonight before i started talking about what i did. any way jack fans. i like jacks gold ear piece

Yeah same here. I really like that tattoo. It's very different from most of her tattoos. It doesn't follow a similar pattern to the rest, and it's color is different from the rest of her tattoos.

Yeah, and it wouldn't make sense for Jack to be so prohuman like Cerberus. There is no reason, and in fact she probably isn't a huge fan of humans herself considering it was a prohuman group that did all those terrible things to her as a kid.

Well thanks for your support . I don't know what's going on in the Tali thread and I prefer to keep it that way. But anway, I feel comfortable in saying we're not jerks. We're only not nice to trolls.

I've never noticed that tree tattoo before. Did it make it to the final in-game model? You said there were differences between the two sets, is that one of them?

Yeah it's on Jack's final in-game model.

Even the colour on some of the tattoos are a little different. Some near her chest are a mid-turquoise colour. The red star/cross tattoo on her abdomen is also red in the in-game model.



Probably more to do with aesthetics, and the heavily contrasted lighting in the game. Every normal map a character model has is cranked all the way up so every little teeny tiny detail pops. Problem with doing just that with the Unreal engine is it makes the shadows that much darker.



In short, having all the tattoos on Jack in the same dark tone will blend together too much and we'll even miss the scars hidden underneath.



The Blur CGI model used for the FFTL mini-site is a different matter altogether.

Good question, that was one of the reasons I uploaded it.  It's hard to tell with that angle.  The scar doesn't seem to go all the way around her neck, but I can't tell for sure.  So that gives me the impression that it was a cut/gash of some sorts.  With that said though, the scarring that we can see, also looks like something similar to what a collar could do.

Well if you look at the entire back of her neck it's clear that it was from surgery. Most likely an implant on her neck or the base of her skull done during her time at Teltin.
