so what are ur guys thoughts on jack and shep in ME3

I think Jack and Shepard are going to partake in some ultraviolence together.

I seem to not think about it in any more detail than that. I'm a bit ambivalent in regards to returning squadmates. I'd like them to serve the story in ME3 rather than the other way around as it was in ME2.

A heads-up; The Ashley thread got locked for going on about the film. So let that be a warning, don't let this topic go for much longer. There already is a thread for that.

Lol no that is not the reason why it got locked. The reason it got locked is because they treated it like a chat room. We are discussing who could play the role of Jack in a ME movie, there is nothing offtopic about that. We actually stay on topic (95% of the time).

There's still much we don't know about Jack. Like how she learned to pilot a shuttle, how to read, how to memorize biotic implant schematics, whether she designed her own tattoos, or how she manages to keep the same hair style consistently since leaving a cult.

I hazard to guess that Jack was between 7 to 14 years old when she arrived at the Cerberus facility. I'd say previous to that she was either given up by her parents (probably spooked them with her Biotic abilities), or that she was a slave and was rescued by Cerberus who had found out she was Biotic, or that she was orphaned (probably due to a Batarian/Human conflict in the Terminus Systems) and again Cerberus found out about her Biotic abilities and took her in.

I don't suppose any BioWare peeps want to clarify how she got to that Cerberus base in the first place? Anyone?

But if I were to speculate, I'd say her training regimen at Teltin was about more than just how to use her biotics. A biotic warrior is useless if they can't navigate the technical environment of the galaxy at large. And I like to think she really has the heart of an artist and designed those tattoos herself. Also, I think she might spend as much time in the mirror working on her (lack of) hair and makeup as Miranda does on hers, but don't tell her that. Also, in spite of one of the holos at Teltin referring to her as Jack, I like to think of that as a mistake on the writer's part and that Jack gave herself her own name.

I think it's way too early for a overly biotic-powered kid to learn how to fly, unless Cerberus also planned for the test subjects to pilot fighter jets using their minds [or something] and had them doing flight sims.

As for Jack's name, I like to think she insisted on people calling her Jack to the point it eventually rubbed off on them.

I assume she was Jacklyn at some point and that she took on "Jack" as a nickname.

This is what I am thinking.  Kind of like how Pat is short for Patricia.  If not, it doesn't make much sense to me.  We might as well call her Charlie or Harold.

Or Jack was the only thing that came to mind when she was trying to remember a name. Any name.

Well, she apparently wasn't very good at it considering it took some mercenaries finding her adrift to save her. If she were about 12 or so, I don't think she was too young to learn to fly anyway. Traveling the galaxy is dictated by shuttle use. As far as we know, there's no law dictating the requirement of a learner's permit before you learn to fly. Stealing the shuttle was probably akin to the time I thought I could drive my mother's car when I was 12: I could do it, but the result wasn't pretty.

No. She can have hair if she wants. Pigtails might look a little wierd. There's concept are of her with brown hair in a ponytail that I really like.

Considering I don't know why it's a big deal to some people that Jack lacks hair in ME2, I suppose I would seem a hypocrite if I took issue with her having hair in ME3. I really don't care, but it'd probably be like seeing an old friend after a couple years and they've changed their look a bit. Period of adjustment as your brain reframes the image in your mind.

Some people can't reconcile femininity with a shaved head. Go figure.

Yep. Some men are scared of being bald while others simply flaunt the skinhead look.

Jack can have whatever hair style she wants for ME3. I like the subtle approach on how Tali's costume changed for ME2, so I'm sure there won't be too many problems revamping Jack's design for the next game.

I would like her to have hair, I don't really see why she wouldn't. But it should still be pretty short.

Three hundred pages.

Second biggest thread for an ME2 character behind the Miranda thread.

Second biggest overall thread without a warning from a mod to stop the flaming or to keep it on topic, behind the Kaidan thread.

That warm, toasty feeling you have at the bottom of your chest is called "pride." Video game heroines come and go, but Jack endures.

Oh, and if Megan Fox gets cast as Jack... I can't even come up with anything. It would be THAT bad.

Nothing. We speculated Jack being in her mid to late twenties.

I don't think she is near 30 at all. I think she's in her early twenties. Miranda refers to her as a child if you choose a certain dialogue option in her's and Jack's arguement. Although she could be refering to her attitude, but I think she was refering to both her age and maturity.
