Miranda's actually 35 according to the ME2 website. Just a couple years older than Shep, and several more than Jacob.

Just from personal observation, many people that demand she be given some hair usually either provide no argument whatsoever for changing an established look, or, offer something flimsy along the lines of "she's ugly bald", "she looks like a man", blah, blah, blah. It isn't much of a stretch to assume this stems from nothing more than superficiality or a juvenile/simplistic mind.

Meanwhile, many that would prefer her to keep the shaved look don't necessarily desire it solely from an aesthetic point of view, but rather from a preference to maintain the character they've come to know and like "as is." Radical changes to anything you might have become accustomed to aren't always easy to accept.

Given this difference in reasoning, I think hypocrisy isn't much of an issue.

Yeah... I remember hearing this one once and thinking "Of course she acts like a child, you silly b*tch - she never had a childhood!" Sometimes I just want to shake her to see if she rattles, I swear...

And indeed - the 300 mark shattered. We can all pat ourselves on the back, hoist a glass of the good stuff (not the 'good stuff' Jacob seems to like, mind you) and toast our thread for staying in the realm of the smart set for 94% of the time at least

Question: There is a trailer where Shepard is saying that Jack is dangerous and violent, and "Exactly what I'm looking for." Does anyone know if he actually says that in the game?

Feels good to hit 300, I have to say.  I've been surprised lately at how the thread's page count has been growing by leaps and bounds per day, but it's good surprise. 

Some other quick things:

1) I'm taking a wait and see approach to the proposed ME movie.  I did LOL when I saw the announcement though, for whatever that's worth.  Initially liked Trek XI, but the more I think about it the more it offends my Trekkie soul.  <_<  Yeah, Trekkie.  Sue me. 

2) Jack's name:  I have some ideas regarding this, but I'll save those for the pertinent point in my ongoing fanfic.  Speaking of which, I finally finished Day 4.  The draft is currently undergoing my mandatory overnight cooldown so I can tear it apart and (hopefully) fix it on the re-read.  I also have an idea for a post-ME3 fic for our favorite odd couple, but I won't even put the prologue up because it's a bit of a spoiler (no, I have no inside info on ME3 whatsoever).

3) The old discussion about how Shep and Jack would end up got me to thinking about a soundtrack for whenever (or if ever, if you prefer) that came to pass.  Incidentally, I agree with the folks who envisioned something along the lines of the ending from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," so I thought this would fit:

Life & Death

The pertinent part for the scene is around 00:58 into the piece (it's an instrumental).  And yes, before anyone takes my head off for it, it's from an anime soundtrack.  Anyone who's biased against the form, please ignore the track's origins and listen to it as something that sets the scene.  Anyone who can't, well there's not much I can do about it, is there?  I actually have a pretty good idea what the scene looks like, but lack the skills, tools, and the money (not to mention the intellectual property rights) to render it any place but in my head.

Anyway, here's to 300 pages of the thread, and may there be hundreds more.

Well Miranda probably called her a child because Jack is so young, but she wasn't saying Jack is literally a child.

I wonder what Jack would be like in a chop shop of her own. Mashing ship parts together to get a nice little custom-made pirate vessel going with plenty of stylish graffiti.

That brings up a question - what would Jack's career choice be if put in a more ordinary lifestyle? Tattoo artist? Mechanic? Band member? Plumber? (She's got the pants right)

I think Jack would be a great elevator technician.

Off the top of my head, construction. I mean she can be on the wrecking ball crew, rather she can BE the wrecking ball!

- an instructor at a boot camp for biotics

- a cook

- a stunt double

I like the idea of her being a cook. Really anything artsy, and being a chef is definitely an art.

I like Jack - the only thing is, she is supposed to be an ultrapowerful biotic yet she is, in reality one of the weaker characters. She ought to be like level four on all biotic abilities.  Same with Thane - if those folks are the best at what they do they should be maxed out on some of the stats.
