When I saw it (up until about 45 seconds ago) I had one of those moments where you look at a word and it looks really weird to you. A word you've seen your entire life, and it just looks awkward. Happened with scheming, and happened to me yesterday with "friend"

And after much wailing, wearing raiments of sackcloth and ashes, and tearing of teeth and gnashing of hair- wait, that sounds wrong.  Well nevermind then.  Just wanted to tell any (still) interested folks that I finally got Day 4 done and published:

I can now finally come up for some air and get caught up with this runaway freight train of a thread.  Quick things:

1)  Enjoyed the new Mondofic immensely.  Course it means I can't have a scene with Jack trying to cook now.  Oh well.  

2) york and Pacifien: will read and leave comments on your blog entries once I give your stuff the read they deserve.

3) Motivationals and art (sorry to be lumping stuff into headings, kinda pressed for time): Very amusing.  I'll steal an idea from Pacifien and say that you folks can assume that I LOL'ed or at least chuckled at the appropriate junctures (I'm very shallow and easily amused, if it's not obvious already.).


EDIT: Oh york?  Your profile be private.  Canna read yuir blog.    (All right, I'll quit the crappy faux-Scottish accent already.)

I had been somewhat keen on the idea of Jack as lab product, particularly with a link to Miranda. However, now I think I would prefer if this wasn't the case. An abduction by slavers or an unfortunate sale by desperate parents might be more interesting in terms of future characterization. A former life or family to rediscover, while "cliché", would give the character some overall purpose and could be great. More so than some realization that she's a daughter of Cerberus...

-edit. I suppose the reconciliation and acceptance of being an engineered product might be worthwhile to explore, as well.

As profound as the existential crisis that would ensue would be for Jack if she found out she was a product of Cerberus in every sense of the word, I can't help but think it would be a bit much if she were somehow linked to Miranda because of it.  Also, we already have two genetically-engineered individuals.   Repeating this a third time might just be tiresome.
