This is why I prefer subtitles in movies. Original intent is lost in the translation and the voice inflection.

So I was watching this Mass Effect Fox News parody again because I felt like it and it's hilarious. And then it made me wonder if Fox News said anything about ME2. So I did some googling and found this video review by Fox News' "video game section", and at around 1 minute they show a clip of Shepard and pals fighting a Preatorian on Horzion, and Jack is in the party and you hear her yell, "I'll kill you all!", and right after she says that you see this box fly at the Preatorian and it seems to ragdoll the Preatorian. The only time I can remember when objects flew around like that is when you fight Wassea (the asari merc right after you encounter Niftu Cal) and she chucks those containers of some toxic substance at you. And it happened right after Jack said that line which she says when she uses an ability. So this begs the question, did Jack have an ability that hurled objects in the environment at enemies? And why the **** did they get rid of it?! That would have been awesome!

Jack definitely should have had something like that in-game, outside of cut-scenes, but the physics engine was probably inadequate to deal with that. Just look at the funky behavior of the grenade powers. Also, creative (and hilarious!) manipulation of the environment would have made exploitation easy.  None of her abilities really reminded me that she's most powerful human biotic in the galaxy.   The wording of Warp Ammo makes it seem like a precise power, and precise isn't Jack's style.

It may have been shockwave, but it happened so fast, it was hard for me to tell.  I know shockwave will cause crates and such to fly.

I don't think like in that video. The box appeared to be intentionally targeting the Preatorian.

As for the physics engine not being able to handle such an ability. They could have just made any object cause a flat amount of damage instead of relying on the physics engine to determine the damage dealt. Now I'll be forever irritated by what could have been. Such an ability would have been awesome. They need an ability like that in ME3.

As one who plays my games on pc, I hope that the developers will have ME3 taking advantage of DX11.  They can release it compatible with both DX9 & 11, as has been the case for several games released already.  The game "Dirt2" came free with my GPU, and it is DX9 & 11.  Although I don't have any interest in racing games, I played it a little and was rather impressed with the DX11 graphics.  ME3's target date is late next year right?  I don't see why they can't have the game DX11 ready, and I think they should have it DX11 ready.

Edit:  formatting

I did another Italian/English comparision and I've discovered that the translation is ok BUT for some weird reasons, a part of Jack and Miranda's catfight is TOTALLY DIFFERENT!

Original:
"The cheerleader won't admit that what Cerberus did to me was wrong"

Italian:
"She's pround of the sh*t that Cerberus is doing. Proud!"

WTF? And it gets worse later:

Original
"You have no idea what Cerberus put me through, maybe it's time that I show you"

Italian
"I'm following Shepard's orders, not yours. I'll smear the walls with you, everyone will be grateful for this"

WHAT THE H- IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS??? I'm sure they MEANT to alter the translation because in the other parts of the game it is very accurate. Why did they do that??

It's not just this game.... I've seen tv and movies in Italy and watched them in the U.S. as well and let me tell you... it always sounds different and awful.

Yeah, a little out of character for me isn't it?  I thought I would be a little unorthadox this time.

Gee I am glad you mentioned that.  I never would have thought of that Jackal.

Yeah frequenters of fan threads are pretty active. Around this time I'm pretty active since I usually have nothing better to do. Well I do but I'm procrastinating big time (homework).

Okay, this is one thing I've been wondering. Among Jack fans, who was your Shepard's LI in ME1? Did you "cheat"?

I virmired my LI. Does it qualify? ;-)

Talking about doing parody comics, I may consider doing a WHOLE parody comic series about ME2 once my current series about Mask of the Betrayer is done. But it won't happen soon, maybe next year... or should I draw them now?
Since I had Jack and Miri in my team most of the times, expect to see a lot of interaction between the two.

In ME1, I liked Ashley more. Liara was too irritating; she reminded me of myself too much I think. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie] As for cheating, yes in almost every playthrough. I couldn't get through a playthrough without finishing a romance (all the ME1 LIs stuck me as really needing the stress relief!), so I had to work (?!) on having one sexless Shep for ME2. Poor guy almost got the consort as a consolation prize. *shudders*

Much like Epantiras, I also Virmired my ME1 LI for my MainShep who, in this case, was Ashley. Needless to say, I preferred Liara.

But I do have a MiniShep where I cheat on Ashley with Miranda. Just to see what happens. That way, if one or both of them walk off in a huff because I was "unfaithful," then they're Ashley and Miranda, and quite frankly I don't care.

On my first ME2 playthrough I intended to stay faithful to Ashley. But after the encounter with her on Horizon, that plan flew out the window.

@Epantiras & royce

Just out of curiosity, how come you chose not to save your LI on Virmire? I always figured if someone romanced Ashley or Kaiden, it was pretty much a death sentence for the other since almost everyone would choose their LI over someone else.

Well for my playthrough I picked Ashley, no specific reason really. Liara or Ashley both don't really interest me but I say it's still worth keeping them alive for the inevitable confrontation in ME3 with your other LI (if she's alive anyway).

I wonder what they can come up with for Jack. With Tali I have this idea of Ashley freaking out about finding that out since Tali is alien and was also part of the crew with Ashley before. But then again this is all but nothing then my speculation.

I got ninja romanced by Ashley just from trying to be nice. I like her romance, just wish the mechanics weren't so sensitive. Apparently you need to be a jerk or something to her to stop the romance from happening.

I honestly wouldn't know what to expect from a Jack & Liara/Ashley confrontation. What do you guys think?

Jack and Ashley would leave Jack and a blood stain on the wall.

Jack and Liara would leave Jack and a blood stain on the wall, with Jack commenting on how Liara's barriers needed practice.

Or at least, these are the outcomes that would amuse me. I doubt this would ever happen, of course. More likely, I'd expect them to get into an arguement were Shep needs to step in and decide which he'll stay with, maybe with some trivial consequence at the resolution that's the equivilent of not gaining a squadmate's loyalty for the suicide mission.

I would love to see a Sheperd shaped blood stain on the wall if he tried his "Why can't I have you both?" again however. ^_^

Well, Jackal, there are a few reasons personally. Not the least of which is that, if you opt to romance Jack, it makes for the better story. Someone died to save you? Well son of a gun, me too.

Also, I have to find some RP justification for that boneheaded forced decision on Virmire, because you're right, the choice comes down to "Which one do you like more?" if not the more crass "Which one are you boning?" with no bearing on the mission whatsoever. I figure I send Ashley with the Salarians, as she has more ground-fighting experience than Kaidan does. Kaidan accompanies the bomb because he has the tech skills. Being that the bomb is the priority, logic follows that I must save Kaidan to make sure the bomb goes off.

But the most purely selfish reason? I created my MainShep after I played ME2 and romanced Jack. I don't want to risk Jack walking off because I dumped a girl because she had bad things to say to me. I dump Ashley when things get rough, she might get to thinking that I'll do the same thing to her. You know she'd think that. And the thing of it is? She'd be right to think it.

I don't have a "canon" ME2 save yet.  I'm waiting for all of this DLC to come out that's supposed to link ME2 and ME3.  All of current save-games are disposable because, when I buy a game, I intend to get my money's worth.

I Virmire'd Kaiden.  I couldn't risk him getting a migraine at an inopportune moment and jeopardizing the security of the bomb.  Ashley can at least aim a weapon.

I cheated on Liara because, like most people, I didn't know about the "secret" conversation option (how completely idiotic to hide a major turning point in a character's development - it makes me think the writers did want to drive the player away from the ME1 love-interests).  I thought she had become cold, distant and heartless.  This was before the Redemption comics.  I thought things were finished between them..  Then, I saw the  Youtube video of her telling Shepard why did she did what she did, and I had an "Oh, ****, what have I done" moment, which is apparently common.

From the comics, if they're a proper indicator, Liara's biotics are looking pretty OP.

Having not read the comics, I wouldn't know. But I would have guessed it would be a lot more balanced, or even leaning in Liara's favour. I was just having an anti-Liara moment.

Jack is supposed to be the most powerful biotic, no? Or was that the most powerful human biotic.
