Jack is supposed to be the most powerful biotic, no? Or was that the most powerful human biotic.

Jack is the most powerful human biotic.

Still more powerful than Liara I'd say. Remember, Liara's pretty young for an asari, and her mother wasn't anything special.

That seems to make sense. After all, if she was no better than any average Asari, why would TIM make a dossier for her?

She's as powerful as Samara based on their ability to hold the biotic shield. Question is: how powerful of a biotic is Samara? Especially in relation to other Asari. I had gotten the impression Samara's biotics were considerable, but wonder if there are Asari even more powerful.

Perhaps that's a question better suited for the Samara thread, so I'll ask there.

Jack's not necessarily as powerful as Samara. They're just both able to hold the shield. Jack could be stronger, or Samara could be stronger, or they could be roughly equal. I would imagine that Samara's Justicar training would amplify or hone her biotic skills. That in conjunction with the weaponry training that Justicars have piqued TIM's interest.

Justicars have to go through rigorous training, which is often lethal.  Very few Asari want to go through with it for that reason, not to mention the time it might take to complete and the sacrifices demanded.  Samara tells us there are only a handful of Justicars. Part of the training is biotics mastery. Given Samara's age, and that she has Justicar training, she is probably very powerful. Jack's biotics are more destructive, whereas Samara's biotics are more precise.

Yeah that's what I think. And one analogy I like to think of, is if biotics were track and field, I'd say Jack is a sprinter and Samara is an endurance runner. Jack can destroy stuff quickly, Samara may take longer but she can also go for longer. If the two were to fight, I think Jack's downfall would be that she'd get tired sooner.

But the most purely selfish reason? I created my MainShep after I played ME2 and romanced Jack. I don't want
to risk Jack walking off because I dumped a girl because she had bad things to say to me. I dump Ashley when things get rough, she might get to thinking that I'll do the same thing to her. You know she'd think that. And the thing of it is? She'd be right to think it.

Yeah I'm currently doing a LI-less playthrough of ME1, just incase the "consequences" in ME3 for cheating on your ME1 LI are significant.

I got ninja romanced by Ashley just from trying to be nice. I like her romance, just wish the mechanics weren't
so sensitive. Apparently you need to be a jerk or something to her to stop the romance from happening.

Haha yeah that happened to me. I hadn't talked to her since Eden Prime, but right after Virmire I talked to her once and suddenly I've romanced her. It was a good thing I had a save before I talked to her. But what was interesting was that the cutscene-like conversation you have with her when the Normandy is stuck on the Citadel, it was different than if you exhausted all dialogue with her. It was kinda strange actually. She was pretty much like, "Alright, I know I'm not an easy person to like, and we've hardly talked at all, but I want you to be happy so lets ****."

Lots of meta-gaming in here. It's very contrary to the RPG spirit! Nah, I don't blame you, I'll be doing the same.

@Epantiras & royce

Just out of curiosity, how come you chose not to save your LI on Virmire? I always figured if someone romanced Ashley or Kaiden, it was pretty much a death sentence for the other since almost everyone would choose their LI over someone else.

My canon Femshep told Liara she wasn't interested (because Liara is a creepy stalker with a teenager crush) so she started to romance Kaidan, who was quite boring even compared to Carth Onasi (kotor). When I had to choose between him and Ashley, I stared at the screen for minutes... Kaidan was my LI but Ashley was my favourite character (together with Wrex), I know people hate her because she's racist and religious and chews your ears off talking about her sisters, but I enjoyed her dialogues and I think she was more fleshed out as a character than the others. So... save my boring LI or save my favourite character? :innocent:

Well, I guess Kaidan's ghost (or rather his spectre)  will come back from the dead and haunt my Femshep.

I knew my statements would make Liara fans angry ;-)

To redeem myself, I bring a link to a nice Jack fan-art I've found on Deviantart renatoln.deviantart.com/art/the-all-powerful-******-166795949

My ideal playthrough (the one I do once I've figured everything out and made all my choices ahead of time) will always be sans-LI. Straight up military man. At least thats how he was in ME1.

I didn't really see her as creepy, but I did get the teenage crush vibe from her.  I always slighlty prefered Ashley myself.  The only thing that I didn't really care for with Ashley, was her always reciting those poems.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, there are a LOT of people out there creeped out by Liara's BLAAGH SHADOW BROKER SHADOW BROKER I LOVE YOU SHEPARD SHADOW BROKER SHADOW BROKER COFFEE CUP monologue in the second game. Although, now that everyone took a level in badass between the two games, Liara's probably as strong as an asari matriarch.

Not as powerful as Jack, however; Shepard's probably the only one that could (potentially) hold a candle to her.

P.S. I love your work on Deviantart!

JACK FTW and it's a female saying this! My favorite character from ME2 by a long shot, and my renegade male-shep's one and only, wouldn't have it any other way!

Hmm, I'll come out of my lurking hole for this topic.

It feels like I'm one of the few that likes all of the characters. It's rather ridiculous, as the most negative feeling I can muster against my least favorite (Zaeed) is pure indifference.

I only ever had one Shepard for ME1 (until recently); first playthrough he romanced Ashley, but after that it was always Liara. My preference has shifted between them frequently; I like them both for different reasons. I'll make a FemShep... one day... but she'll forever be a loner as none of the LI's interest me.

I felt bad 'cheating' on my first LI's in ME2, and I was afraid of whatever consequences Bioware would throw at me in the third game, so I stayed faithful. Recently I created a new single ManShep to carry over in order to romance Jack. However, the only way I could force myself to sit through a game I have played to death was naming him 'Malcolm' and making him act like Captain Mal from Firefly. Most interesting playthrough ever.

While we're on this subject, allow me to digress a little further and waste everyone's time with a wacky little theory I have.  There's a little advice I have for folks who want to cheat on Liara in ME2...

Don't.  If you value the life of the person you want to cheat on her with, do not, under any circumstances do the deed.  Come ME3, Liara will kill this person.  It will be scripted.  You will not be able to stop it.  She's spent the last two years with a taste for blood and no moral compass to tell her it's wrong.  She apparently has a whole graveyard of people whose final mistake was getting in the way of what she wants.  And little man, little Liara wants you.

So don't.

Now let's get back to Jack.

Liara want snoo-snoo?

(Not to be confused with Morinth's brand of snoo-snoo.)

We like to poke fun occasionally.   I'm a Liarafan, a Jackolyte and a Samaratan.   I can take having fun poked at those characters.
