Her real voice isn't that much different from her Jack voice.

On a different note, I was walking through the Citadel yesterday to look for the person associated with the forged ID side mission. And the asari that you talk to for it is so obviously Courtenay Taylor. I was just walking by and I heard her talk and I instantly knew it was Courtenay Taylor. The asari had that unmistakable rasp and the quick noticable breath between sentences. It was weird talking to her, especially because Jack was with me, and I just found it weird that two characters standing right next to me share the same VA. But that asari was a ****. I guess it's understandable though considering the situation she was in.

I have these questions:

1) What description were you given about Jack's character?
2) What was your reaction when you found out you were voicing a badass chick that's covered in tattoos and has a shaved head?
3) Were you able to find Jack's voice quickly or did you have to experiment with a few different types of dialects and enunciations before it sounded right?
4) Jack has quite a few emotional scenes. Was it difficult to nail that perfect tone for those scenes?
5) Were you able to hear the lines of other characters while you were recording lines?
6) Have you seen a lot of footage of Jack with your voice attached?
7) How do you feel about the about the end result of the character Jack? Is there anything you would change about her?
8) Did you do voice work for other characters in the game?
9) How were you chosen as Jack's VA?
10) And last but not least, cake or pie?

And axl99's picture.  Are these everything we want to send to Ms. Taylor?

Looks good :D. You should post the email here that you send her, just so we can see it.

Just want to wait a little while longer to see if anyone has anything else to add.

That list is actually very good. Add some pleasantries and we could have a very presentable interview/e-mail.

I guess it got left behind in the blitz of pages on Jack's sexuality. I would have been interested in asking Courtenay if she can see any of herself in Jack, and if there's anything of Jack in her.

I included that.

So far, I've included a formal salutation and introduction, describing the mutual interest of the Jackolytes in the character, and how we would be appreciative if she could answer any of the questions, as it would enhance our understanding of Jack.  I also stated that if she can't answer some due to obligations to Bioware, that's perfectly fine.  Then, I've included axl99's picture.

How's all of that?

Sounds fine.  I like your thought of going through her agent.  You said this was done with Liara's VA as well?  What procedure was used then?

I don't know.  I can ask the other Liarafans.  But I need to know if we should send the e-mail through Ms. Taylor's agent, or just send it directly to Ms. Taylor.   The first is cautious, but formal.  The second might be a little too informal, even if it isn't an actual interview.

My opinion would be to try and go through her agent first.  Perhaps this would also increase the chance of her actually taking the time to read and respond to it also.  I don't know though.  If it were me, I would probably try the formal route first.  Hasen't royce done some game reviews before?  Perhaps he has contacted VA's before.

Edit:  Better yet, why not ask one of the Bioware employees/staff?

Image IPB  That last question is dumb. It's obvious she's a pie person. Everyone prefers pie. Even if they say cake. It's jsut a cover-up. Pie rules.  Image IPB

The person who contacted Alli Hillis says that they did it through her Facebook page.  I don't see a Facebook page for Ms. Taylor.  Maybe we should just go through an agent to be safe.

EDIT:  i did find her Facebook page, but there's no option to send her a message.   Plus, now I feel like a stalker

It wouldn't hurt to try to go through her agent first.  There is no rush to do this afterall right?

Courtenay mentioned she was hitting E3 on twitter yesterday, so I asked if she was going to try out the ME2 demo. Nothing back yet.

Well it's a bit deep. That's what I meant with my earlier post about trying to not ask questions that are too deep, and general enough that she could go into something deep like that if she wanted to.

Idk I just thought specifically asking her a question like that might seem a bit awkward too. But go ahead and include it if you want.

Sounds good, but I don't know about the whole "enhancing our understanding of Jack" thing. I don't want her to think we're some creepy Jack cult :P. Just something brief that says we're a group of Jack fans and we'd really like to ask you some questions about your experiences voicing Jack.

As for how to contact her. I really think contacting her through her email and not her agents is the best way to go. Her agent might just ignore it. And it's just an informal email asking her a few questions.

I sent an e-mail to her general manager about the best, most appropriate way to contact Courtenay, so I'll respond back when/if I receive a response.

That would be a trip if she sends you a message back saying "thanks for your concern, now f*ck off !":O

Wow, I guess Courtenay has really taken on the Jack persona.:P
