This thread has been a little slow lately.  I have had to look around for sponsors to help keep it alive.  Our other sponsor "Supershine Toothpaste", dropped us.  Perhaps I will be able to get them back.  In the meantime, I was able to contract a generic suppository manufacturer to sponsor the thread.

Hang in there guys, I'm doing the best I can.

And now a word from our latest sponsor:

Ok then, the sunset she's earned :P

Besides, even if she doesn't go looking for it, I think someone else will just give it to her eventually...

That made my day :D sounds like a '50s black and white hardboiled movie voiceover! BTW never, never ever think about poledancing Thane while you're driving. I can tell you that from experience. Ahhh sometimes imagination is a double edged weapon.

...

Going back to the Jack topic, I've been reading the Asciension novel, I'm roughly at the middle...

SPOILER
I've just read about Gillian's reaction to the second dose of the "Cerberus elixir", she basically had a seizure!

/SPOILER

Damn, those Cerberus guys are really into nasty business! I also read that at the beginning, human governments used to portray biotic children as "a dangerous threat" so that their parents were scared and happily gave them up to government scientists. That could have been Jack's fate too: maybe her parents were scared by those Image IPB Disingenuous Assertion Image IPB and gave her to Cerberus operatives disguised as government agents.

Lol . Thane's flashbacks creep me out. It's like he's reading off some corny fanfic. I could imagine squadmates messing with Thane to try and get him to go into flashbacks. Someone sneaks up behind him and shouts "Dance crazy!" and then goes into uncontrollable flashbacks about his son :P. Like those fainting goats. You scare the **** out of them and they become temporarily paralyzed and fall over.

What type of Shepard do you usually romance Jack with? For me it's a paragade.

Well all of my male Shepards are paragon. I only have one renegade character who just so happens to be a biotic b*tch. Whenever I play an evil or renegade-type character, they're almost always female. It probably has to do with my fascination of badass chicks.

Any Shepard I make could end up with Jack... it's down to mood I think. I don't buy into that whole bad-guys-suit-bad-girls thing, or the opposites-attract thing all the time. I think if a particular Shep would be more drawn to her, then it happens; maybe he wants to help her, maybe he's just physically attracted to her, maybe she intrigues him, maybe their personal outlooks match, or maybe he just doesn't know why he keeps getting drawn back into the guts of the ship to have evasive and confrontational discourse with a dangerous felon (love doesn't always make sense, after all).

The odd thing is, only my nice-guy Sheps continually choose Tali, and only one Shep to date went after Miranda. On the distaff-Shep side, I've been more inclined to stay faithful (out of six female Sheps, only three have moved on to new romances). With my guys, one chose Miranda, two chose Tali, and three chose Jack (which became four when my staying-faithful Shep gave in and took one conversation too many with our basement-gal, and I haven't the stony heart to turn my back on her after that).

I would romance Jack with any of my Sheps.  Renegade, Paragon, Spacer, etc.. whatever.   I didn't really care for any of MaleShep's LI's in ME2 until I started becoming interested in the Jack character.  I did hold the opinion that Jack doesn't need to be getting involved in a romantic relationship right now, but instead she needs some love and help with dealing with her issues from people that she can trust to help her with those issues.  In real life, I would say that a person with that much emotional baggage needs to slow down and work through those issues before getting involved romantically. The game isn't this complex though, so I romanced her.

Tali is my Shep's buddy, and that is about it.  Miranda is....well Miranda is Miranda.  Although I do have a lot of different Sheps, and have romanced them all.

I have three FemSheps, but have not romanced anyone yet at this time.  I will eventually get around to that though.  I want to experience all of it and get my money's worth out of the game.

My Paragon bar is full.  The Renegade points come from taking Renegade decisions, where taking the Paragon option could potentially make my Shepard a hypocrite (derp genophage was wrong, but let's rewrite the Heretics).  Also, I want to make sure Sama-sama returns to help my Shepard in ME3, as she said she would.

EDIT:  I'm writing a quickfic where Mess Sergeant Gardner talks with Jack about the rumors he's heard about her and the Commander.   Mess Sergeant Gardner is a vastly under-utilized character.

Yeah, I think I only ever had one Shep who entirely Paragon'd his way through everything, and he seemed frightfully naive and dull... so I went back and played a few things through differently. Never made a pure Renegade as it just seems like being a douchebag for no good reason.

It'll be interesting to see how Gardner and Jack get along... I await with excitement ^_^

For Jack, I would like my Shepard to have a mischievous edge. Not to the point of being a jackass, but I think a little mischievousness or a tinge of "renegade" can work nicely to form bonds and connections. Not full on renegade but not full on paragon either.

That's just my opinion though.

I can't do a pure Paragon.  It's too goody two shoes for me.  I can do a Paragon with about a 2/3 split with Renegade though.

I can't hardly play pure renegade either.  My bad Shepards are ruthless, but they are not chaotic.

Bioware announced that Leliana DLC for Dragon Age where you play as Leliana and go through her past life before the events of the game itself... can you imagine that, but for Jack? I would fall out of my chair with excitement if they did the same thing for Jack, but... it would probably be too depressing for most non-Jack fans.

I mean... if they took it right up to ME2, the DLC would have to end with you getting captured and sent to Purgatory. Well, unless you got to play as Jack tearing up the place up to the point of meeting Shepard. But playing through her past with the cult, and her final raid with Murtock... that would be interesting, to say the least.

I'd play that. Would certainly be interesting. Though it's hard to imagine playing as Jack and still being able to be given moral choices.

Interesting, I've always liked the idea of opposites attracting.

My paragon Shepard's choose almost all paragon options, but I don't think the genophage was a bad idea, but I hang on to the cure data just incase. My paragon Shepard's aren't afraid to wip out a renegade dialogue option if the need arises though. And all my male Shep's romance Jack. I have no desire to romance anyone else as male Shep. If I want to see their romance related dialogue and scenes, then I just youtube it.

My renegade adept femShep is an ****, but there are some renegade choices that I just cannot choose. She romances Thane because she's a badass, and whats more badass than having the galaxy's deadliest assassin as your boyfriend?

And I have a vangaurd femShep who is a blonde-haired blue-eyed goody two-shoes. I like the irony of that character, because vangaurds are supposed to be these feared and aggressive warriors, but she's an ultra paragon and looks like a super model. I have two version of her. One that romances Garrus and one that stays faithful to Kaiden.

If theer were character-only DLC for ME2, it'd basically be MOTHERSHIP ZETA for ME2 wouldn't it? I kinda don't see how Jack could be given moral choices as there are concrete events that brought her to Purgatory and to Shepard. Shepard's the only one in flux, everyone else is fixed. Honestly, I don't see how they could do it with Leliana, either.

But then again, unlike my FALLOUT 3 example, the combat in ME2 is actually.. y'know... Good. If it were just combat with no choices, it'd STILL be worth the seven bucks. So, like york, I am sold.

This is just ass-talk, though. If anyone's getting a DLC, it's gonna be Miranda. And you know this.

But going back to which kind of Shep suits Jack, I think every kind but renegade fits, really.

Wow. The fact that they would even do that makes me very excited about a potentional Jack DLC. I would explode with excitement if they announced DLC for ME2 where you play as Jack before she meets Shepard. There are so many questions I have about her past. While playing it my mind would burst from finding out so much about her past.

I think it would be silly if their were moral choices for a play-as-Jack DLC. It wouldn't make sense. All of her decisions have already been made. I would love just finding out so much about her past. And hopefully her real-time combat abilities would match her cutscene powers since you'll be controlling her.

I don't think it's impossible; it just wouldn't be the same moral scale of "good or bad" as with Shepard.  More like "Neutral Evil vs. Chaotic Neutral."  Instead of "Will Shepard shoot the enemy before he has a chance to draw a weapon, or will he sneak off a shot before the guy can respond?" , it would be "Will Jack leave the person alone who has done nothing at all to her, or will she shoot him just for the evulz?"

God, if they actually had us play through the Murtock event... I don't think I could take it.
