To say that he's helping her is to say just the right thing, be it with the romance, or without.

Which also means that Shepard can help Jack, even if he does the renegade fling with her.  Right?  I am not trying to rationalize the action.  I am merely pointing out what I see as the game giving the player an illusion, but nothing tangible in regards to it afffecting her mental state, or changing any of her characteristics.

You stated that Shepard only tangibly, demonstrably helps Jack during her loyalty mission.

I'm playing TF2, and getting angry at the central air-conditioning for working in every room except for the room I have my computer in.

Central air not working on one room, but working in the rest?  That is strange.  How is the air pressure coming through the vents in the other rooms?  Normal?  That doesn't seem to make sense unless their is a problem with the air ducts.  Assuming the whole place is being cooled by the same a/c unit.

I'm sorry, I've been busy conducting science. What are we talking about again? Jack in ME3? Likely the same no matter what except for romantic dialogue if you did romance her. But if the developers wanted to surprise me and make me happy, we'd get either a Renegade Jack or a Renagon Jack. Renegade Jack if you didn't get her loyalty or lost it. Renagon if you were nice to her. But for each different version of a character they create, you probably nearly double the amount of dialogue that needs to be recorded.

I'd redo the whole Paragon/Renegade system where you could never actually see if you were more of one than the other, the only evidence would be how the game changes around you. People act differently. Missions unfold differently. Stuff like that. Maybe too intricate to develop.

Check to see if there's an assassin in the vents blocking the airflow.

The air pressure is just fine in the other rooms.  The whole place is being cooled by the same A/C unit.  I've checked it, and it's fine.  I think that it may have to do with the vents.  The only time the air works in my computer room is when the guys come to check out what's going on.  It figures, of course.  Unfortunately, the apartment has been recently categorized a landmark, so if it's something that would require tearing up the walls to fix, then i'm SOL.

Nope, just a debate, and before that, we discussed how Jack would react to being told by Shepard that he loves her.  Also, we discussed if it would be him who tells her first, or the other way around.

EDIT: I'm enjoying the **** out of writing this quickfic that takes place immediately after the events of Mondo's "Walking After You".

I wouldn't call it a fic or quickfic or anything... maybe a snapshot... but anyway, I've been writing how the squad would actually handle the Overlord situation. Then I came up with the idea that the person who demands to use the Hammerhead the most, and actually handles it fairly well, is Jack. Turns out, joyriding still has the appeal it used to.

Ok, let's go back on topic. I've recently seen a (very depressing) vid on youtube with all the companions deaths of a disastrous ME2 suicide mission (ending with Shepard's death as well). I've noticed that Jack gets blasted by an exploding console just like Pressly and any other Expendable Ensigh of Star Wars. But my question is... WHAT THE F- WAS SHE DOING THERE? If you look closely, you can see she's on the main bridge, around the table with the holographic Normandy/Galaxy Map. I thought she rarely wend out of her hiding hole down the stairs.

Well one thing ME2 has taught me is that whenever you're in a ship and **** is going down, stay away from the consoles.

And I can't think of one good reason as to why she would be there. She doesn't strike me as the person who should be monitoring or altering any systems. Like someone said, there's gotta be a trope for it.

I don't believe the developers are going to create 3 Jacks, or 2 or 3 versions of the other LI's for ME3.
a) Paragon romanced Jack
B) Renegade pounce Jack
c) Non romanced Jack

I think that Jack will have some "alternate" dialogue lines in ME3 depending on her relationship with Shepard. If I remember correctly, Kaidan and Garrus do have different lines in ME1 depending on how much paragon/renegade Shepard has been during their dialogues, so I guess that we'll see something similar in ME3 too.

A loyal (or romanced) Jack could be a little less pessimistic or less cruel, I think we can expect some kind of small character developement but, overall, Jack will always be the same. Liara and Tali became "more badass" in ME2, but they're still the same deep down.

And "fixing people with magical wand penis"? It's overrated :-P

Jack. One of my favorite squadmates, but much like Jacob, I barely use her(I play on Hardcore/Insanity.) For being the most human biotic in the galaxy, there's no reason why Miranda should be more useful than her, and have better biotic powers. Good thing that Jack's better with holding the barrier during the suicide mission than Miranda.

I wish that I could be able to be friends with Jack, and know her more without having to be in a romance with her(this goes for all potential romanceable characters.)

Much like Dragon Age - the only way to survive the ending and enjoy a romantic future without selling your dignity and ethics for survival, is via a 'magic wand' (which just results in selling the souls of humanity to Baby Cthulhu... some choice).

That sh*t really is lowest common romantic denominator. And it's a fallacy. And yes, I'm still sore about it!

I would be very surprised if Jack acted any differently depending on whether or not she was romanced, outside of romantic dialog.  I just don't see Jack, or any of the LI's for that matter, acting more pessimistic or more cruel if Shepard didn't romance them.  That could mean that Tali, Jack, and Miranda would be more pessimistic to FemShep, and/or MaleShep if he didn't romance them.  Or it could mean that Garrus, Thane, and Jacob would be more pessimistic towards MaleShep, and/ore FemShep if she didn't romance them.

So you're statement that  "A loyal (or romanced) Jack could be a little less pessimistic or less
cruel", gives credence to you're above quote I think.:police:

Or in the case of FemShep: A loyal( or romanced) Thane could be a little less pessimistic or less cruel, gives credence to the below statement.
"fixing people with a magical (*insert a female organ here*:D)"

You don't believe that right?  Because it is overrated.

But you're statements appear to contradict one another.;)

No. That game pissed on its chips when it killed my dog. I'm taking my ball home and I'm not playing anymore. And unless I come back from the dead in DA2 and go looking for my bard, I'm not coming back either. BioWare can take it's epic fantasy and stick it <_<

I'm funny when I sulk, aren't I? :D

You're statement "A loyal (or romanced) Jack could be a little less pessimistic or less
cruel" implies that a romance could alter Jack.

Regardless of what you mean, that is what it implies.

So my previous statesments about you're statements is not invalid. :police:

You're earlier statement about "alternate lines" with Jack, was referring to paragon/renegade and you're example of Kaiden and Garrus.
