Kasumi, speaking with Shepard about his interest in Jack:  "You're a brave man spending so much time with Jack.  I'm afraid to even go near that part of the ship.  I guess there's someone out there for everyone, even her."

Even though it felt kind of tacked on, I'm glad that Bioware did this with Kasumi having context-sensitive dialogue.  That was one of the things people asked for - wanting squadmates to voice their opinions on other squadmates.

EDIT: I am a little disappointed that we had to ask for this in an RPG setting.  This sort of thing is standard for RPGs.

Well your forgetting that they remade ME 2 to be more friendly with the short attentino span instant gratification console shooter crowd. The cut tonnes of RPG out of the game and streamlines what was left.

What york is talking about wasn't any more prevalent in ME1, was it?

I always thought that was a little too barbed... it's like "Way to throw the outcast freak a sympathy lay, Shepard... say, if you ever had any fantasies about Asian girls in school uniforms, I think I still have mine."

Though granted, what she says post-Paragon-Jackmance is a lot nicer - "I heard that you and Jack shared a... moment. She seemed genuinely touched. She's a complicated woman. I'm really happy she's found someone who can understand her."

One thing I liked was the way Kasumi pointed out Tali's interest in Shepard in statements not about her... if Shepard takes a trip to the engine room with Miranda Kasumi says something like "In the engine room? Right where Tali works?" That's perfect - it's like "Way to go Mr Sensitivity." :D

I remember when Kasumi was first released.  There were so many members that were freaking out.  They were worried that certain LI's may or may not return in ME3 because of statements made by Kasumi.  As if the devs were sending the players coded messages.

I wonder what behavior Kasumi observed in Jack after the paragon romance scene that made her draw the conclusion that Jack seemed touched.  Genuine happiness?  The liberal display of smiles?    A spring in her step?

Eh, if I was a crewmember, and saw Jack's mascara running from tears, I'd book it fast to the escape pods.

And, hi.  :)

Decision tree:

00 "Jack in tears"
01 IF currently violent goto 03
02 IF not currently violent THEN "Jack is touched"
03 Evacuate

Pleased to see you here Nuclear. Btw, I was playing devil's advocate on the Tali forum ;)

Anyways, I really like the fact that Kasumi commented on the romances. I hope this means they are moving towards the direction of banter.

Meanwhile, in the Normandy Mess Hall...

Several crew members are risking what Gardner is churning out for the evening. Kasumi is sitting with Mordin, trying to contain her amusement at the way he eats and continues to talk at the same pace. Miranda is walking back towards the tables when she collides with Jack, who is striding very purposefully across the room. Miranda's tray hits the floor, scattering food and spilling water. The entire room winces and holds its breath, preparing for a repeat performance of the battle with the Collectors they only barely survived hours earlier.

Miranda: (irritated) Oh well that's just -

Jack: Sorry. I'll get you another.

Miranda: I... I...

Jack: (beaming) No problem. Go sit down, I'll bring it over.

Miranda walks to her chair almost in a daze. The entire room has the same incredulous expression on its face. Jack walks over to Gardner, loads up another tray for Miranda, is about to go to the tables when she obviously remembers something and goes back.

Jack: (loudly) Oh, and do you have any ice? Shepard could use some... threw his shoulder out while we were f*cking and he won't stop b*tching about it... men, eh?

:kissing:

I hope so.  If even the 600-700 year old Paragon of Justice enjoys having someone to speak with, there's no reason the rest of them should be mute blobs.

Yay! Mondo quickfic! It's funny, because in my mind, I envisioned the whole scene playing out much like it took place in a high-school cafeteria.

Yea. It also struck me as funny when Shepard tells Thane to "get out and talk to people." Oh yea, Shepard? Is that even possible in this game? ;)

I've been thinking about the viability of banter DLC, but fair points have been raised over the plausibility and practicality of bringing back the voice actors, and the costs possibly involved.

It's a shame, too, seeing as all my favorite characters (excepting Wrex and maybe Liara and Kaidan) are ME2 squadmates.  Seriously, Bioware, you're putting Samara, Jack, Thane, Mordin, and Legion in this game, but you also cut down on the amount of dialogue?  I fail to see the sense in that.

Mondo's hit on something endemic on my attitude towards the Hair Topic That Won't Ever ****ing  Die. Namely that as long as they don't touch the face, I don't care. Tattoos I can take or leave. If she wants 'em gone, who am I to judge? Hair? Any of the above designs are fine by me.

But no eyepatches, no piercings, no Mike Tyson facial tattoos. Remember that we lost our collective sh-t over a visor that's completely everloving optional.

I don't want them to touch her hair, tattoos, and especially her face. I hate all the hairstyles in those concept pictures. If she were to grow out her hair, the only thing I would be ok with is some simple short hairdo. Nothing over-the-top and riduclous that you'd expect from some attention ****.

Jack's tattoos, her hair, and her face are all part of what makes her unique. To alter any of them would be a disservice to her character.

All I'll say is I have a headache that on a scale of one to ten is Kurt Cobain... if you guys are going to plow this thread into Smudboy territory b*tching about how losing the ability to carry twelve set of armour and thirty shotguns and not having 290 experience points to lay into really important skills like 'combat crocheting' and 'charming space-babes' has destroyed your RPG elements and how your huge epic storyline got sidelined into group therapy for a group of galactic layabouts, I will layeth the smack down. There are threads for that - this ain't one of 'em. This is a happy fan-thread - no fightin' :D

Play nice. I have a big, indiscriminate 50-kiloton sarcasm-stick :kissing:

Nah. I just didn't realize dialogue between characters, about other characters, had become non-standard for RPGs.
