Cool idea even if in my canon FemShep playthrough everyone survived, in my MaleShep one I'm planning to get Jacob killed in the vents as tech specialist (dude, you volunteered) and the Cerberus crew being turned into DNA soup. I also have loyal Tali being exiled - that was weird, she was happy! And Legion commented on her being exiled during the confrontation scene... that was surprising. I'm keeping Samara un-loyal, just in case I need someone killed during the bubble scene... I haven't decided if there will be other deaths.

Warning: I'm doing this because I want to have two different playthroughs to import, so Jacob/Tali/Kelly Chambers fans relax, I'm just metagaming.

Right, my Massive Science Project has reached a point where I believe I can come up with everything you needed to know about Jack and her role in the final mission.

With no armor upgrade: Jack DIES!

With no shield upgrade, squadmates will die in the following order (unless you take them to fight the Oculus):
Kasumi -> Legion -> Tali -> Thane -> Garrus -> Zaeed -> Grunt -> Jack (Seems like that would take some dedication.)

With no weapon upgrade, squadmates will die in the following order:
Thane -> Garrus -> Zaeed -> Grunt -> Jack

With Jack as your Fireteam Leader:
Tech DIES no matter what

When Jack is the Biotic Specialist:
Unloyal -> Squadmates die in a particular order as detailed in this suicide mission guide

When using the incorrect Biotic Specialist (anyone not loyals Morinth or Samara), the squadmates die in the following order:
Thane -> Jack

With Jack as your Distraction Team Leader:Jack DIES

With a weak Hold the Line score (see suicide mission guide for details):
Unloyals die before Loyals
Mordin -> Tali -> Kasumi -> Jack

Your four weakest defenders:
Jack, Kasumi, Mordin, Tali

Hear Jack disagree with keeping the base:
1) Thane -> Samara -> Tali -> Jacob -> Jack
1a) Bring her with squadmates who agree with keeping the base (Garrus, Grunt, Legion, Mordin, Zaeed)
2) Choose the BOTTOM LEFT ("You think it can help?") option

Catch Jack falling down the platforms:
1) Jack's icon must be on the RIGHT
2) If you need to reload, make sure Jack's icon remains on the RIGHT

To have Jack pull Shepard up onto the Normandy, the order in which squadmates catch Shepard:
(a whole list of squadmates) -> Jack -> Thane
The squadmate who pulls Shepard up will come from the final fight. If one dies, the other one then pulls Shepard up. If they both die, then it's a squadmate who survived the defense.

I find the design decision weird that the armor upgrade only affects Jack. Why did they make the armor upgrade only affect whether or not Jack lives and no one else? She is the only squadmate who has a ship upgrade dedicated to protecting her. It's kind of a double edged sword. If you don't get that upgrade she's garaunteed to die. But if you do get that upgrade then she's almost garaunteed to be safe since she's near the bottom of the lists for dieing from not having other ship upgrades. Although I don't think she should even be on those other lists since you absolutely have to get the heavy armor upgrade to save her.

And I don't understand how she's so low on the list of being able to hold the line and defend positions. Sure she's a bit reckless, and probably more fragile than most, but c'mon, she tore through Purgatory like a hot knife through butter. And she is second in line to be taken away from the seeker swarms, just under Thane. How does that make sense? The decision for who gets taken away by the seeker swarm should be random. Do the seeker swarms like the color green or  lots of tattoos or something?

I hated that. She should have got some tricked out Cerberus armor, stripped down and repainted to be a big FU.

If you're this butthurt over some anti-Tali fan stuff in this thread, then you must never leave the Tali fan thread because these forums are filled with anti-Tali fan comments. Deal with it.

I suppose the reason for the lack of sufficient armor for most of the squadmates is that each character model is unique as opposed to Shepard and all the other NPCs you come across who can be switched out of any armor. The developers would have had to create a unique armor set for each squadmate. I wish they had, but they went for the easier stylistic choice.

So many fans have complained about it, though, I bet all the squadmates in ME3 will have armor. But I'm only going to be $1. An imaginary $1.

So you came into the Jack thread and expected everyone to like Tali? If you want to go to a thread where everyone likes Tali then stay in the Tali thread. Your expectations that everyone will like your favorite character in a thread that isn't about her is a little... naive. If people were talking bad about her in the Tali thread then I would understand why you would get upset... but not if it is in a thread that doesn't involve her. As stated above... don't troll the Jack thread because we don't troll the Tali one.
