Wikis aren't a reliable source for information. Not enough control, and they can be manipulated to match one's own opinion, rather than unbiased facts. Try turning in a paper using a wiki as a source.
As far as the official site being inconsistent, I am not surprised. We have inconsitencies between lore, codex, and what is spoken of in the game, not to mention the wiki.
I wonder if the ME wiki
still says Legion is a stronger defender than Garrus even though I proved otherwise with testing. I think whenever someone changes it to be right, someone keeps changing it back because the incomplete Game Informer guide didn't know there was a difference.
I dislike discussions about what is or is not canon. The rage that would develop when I would get into an argument with a Star Wars fan when they'd base their argument on what was written in the books I never read. The levels of acceptable canon on what trumps what. Movie > Book > Game > Comics or somesuch.
I remember when fans pointed out to George R. R. Martin the inconsistencies in his
Song of Ice and Fire series and his reply was an honest "Whoops." And that's just with one writer working on the lore. Imagine the dozens who work on ME's lore.
