Fireworks in Shepard's quarters! And not the ones everyone is used to!

Somehow I don't think even Shepard would get used to those fireworks that easily... as soon as Jack really lets herself get into, erm, the moment... well, need I say more?

I think inappropriate use of munitions would probably be easier to deal with ;)

Reminds me of the Animated Object army scene with Wizard Mickey in the original Fantasia.

How do we know humans >>>>krogan>everything else?  I always thought it was asari>everything else.  Does it
say somewhere that human biotics were more powerful than the other species?

He needs to clarify what the scale is supposed to mean.

By natural biotic talent, power capacity, all of that, Asari should be greater than the other species.  They have natural biotic abilities, and they have 1000+ years to hone their biotic abilities.

Non-Asari have biotic abilities because of industrial accidents involving element zero.  Engines blowing apart, or people at scrapyards becoming contaminated with eezo, things like that.  Notice that Quarians have no biotic abilities because of their suits, Volus as well.  Those species would have to be injected with eezo to manifest biotic abilities.  I think that Krogan can have biotic abilities because of these industrial accidents, or because they were supplied with surgical processes that enable biotics when they were the soldiers of Council's army.

For non-Asari, developing biotic abilities is a matter of amplification, though Asari can use amps, too.

One of the other references to human biotic power compared to other species is comments made about Kaidan's L2 implants. Both Wrex and Garrus mention he has considerable biotic output due to the L2 configuration. He then talks about the L3 implants being safer. Neither of them are impressed. I think I read somewhere that Turians don't produce biotics stronger than an L3. I thought it was a Codex entry, but I'd have to check.

Still don't know where a krogan's biotic strength lies. Or a drell's for that matter. I've always been somewhat irritated that they just threw that ability into Thane's repertoire with no mention of it at all.

It's more like an educated guess. Other than asari you see more human biotics than any other races. Krogan are the third most common biotics it seems. And there are much more human biotics than krogan biotics. And krogan are more about brute strength, and you never hear about krogans being powerful biotics. There's no krogan adepts, there are just krogans with some biotics. And you rarely see any biotics of any other races.

I assumed that Thane has biotic abilities because of his Hanar benefactors. The Hanar seem to be generous when it comes to making sure their go-to guys are outfitted with very fancy stuff. They likely paid for whatever operations were necessary to give him biotic abilities, to keep him competitive. They gave him those ocular implants, for example.

I don't know about that... when the game talks about Wrex in ME1 it talks about Krogan battlemasters being a dying breed... something the Galaxy is very happy about.  They seem to be treated as on par with Asari commandos.

Doesn't biotics come from element zero exposure while the mother is pregnant?  Where does it say surgeries?

I find Jack's abilities in Hardcore/Insanity useful until I get Samara. I wish Jack had an assault rifle instead of a heavy pistol(same for Tali.)

Maybe in terms of overall combat ability, but not in terms of biotic strength.

Yeah, the shotgun is pretty useless when squadmates use'm. But if you get heavy warp ammo for Jack, it can do some pretty decent damage.

The AI likes to make squad mates w/shotguns act too aggressively. If theyare told to take cover though, there's no real problem (for me at least). I think the squad mate that needed the assault rifle the most was Jacob. Partly because that's what he used in Galaxy. Also, Thane needs to be given a pistol instead of a submachine gun. And actual assassin abilities - not biotics.

If this were the case, I assume surgery has 1) an extremely high casualty rate 2) an extremely high price tag.

If we go by the timeline and human biotic advancement, that would mean Miranda could have also had such surgery since her official ME2 website age is 35, too old to align with when humanity discovered the benefits of biotics.

Hate those ages on the website. Hate the timeline. Hates its alls, my preciousssss!

Anyway, not entirely sure biotics can be done through surgery alone. Enhanced, such as what they probably did with Jack. But from a normal nervous system to a biotic one? Don't know how I feel about that. Need more data!

I wonder if Jack is as powerful as she is because the surguries included other amps that were networked throughout her body... probably not... it is probably just drugs. Ignore me... I'm talking to myself.

If you switch the squadmate's shotgun with whatever their secondary weapon happens to be, you'll get a dramatic increase in their survivability. When they programmed the AI for the shotgun, the advancement priority should have been survival > advancement as opposed to advancement > everything else in the whole universe.

I've been participating in so many different character threads, I can't even remember where I mentioned the idea of Mordin's and Thane's abilities having been switched. Especially in light of the information that Mordin was supposed to be a biotic at one point in development.

Maybe each squadmate should have the potential to train in two different weapons and it's up to the player to determine what that weapon is. To some degree. Be ridiculous if Jack was running around with a sniper rifle or Tali with an assault rifle.

Well, she mentions breaking down her mental barriers. We know the scientists were trying to figure out what stimuli increased biotic potential. Her surgeries were definitely for something. Think york mentioned once adding additional eezo to the eezo nodules throughout her neurological system.

I think originaly the squadmates had access to more weapons... and definitely more abilities.

Link... skip to 4:39 and look at the powers on the power wheel for Jacob and Miranda.

I think it's a mix of implants and actual procedures that naturally increases biotic power. Like the intense pain allowing for more biotic power.

I find the shotgun to be useful, just not as much as the assault rifle. The onlysquadmates  I let use a shotgun is Tali and Grunt because they're the only ones who can kick ass with one(especially with the eviscerator.)

Hard to imagine Mordin and Thane's abilities being switched. Mordin's abilities are very...tailored for the fact that he's a doctor. It is an interesting idea, though - of a biotic Mordin who was once not the zany professor he is in the final version. At one point in development, Tali used sniper rifles. So that one could work.

Jack? It's hard to disassociate her from the shotgun and pistol. Sniper rifle seems far too precise and surgical for her, yea. Submachinegun, I think, would be the best other weapon for her. Because it's not as precise as the assault rifle or sniper rifle, and has a fast rate of fire. Would be perfect.

I could also see her going to town with the flamethrower.

Jack with a SMG would make her look like the punk thugs in APB.  Give her a bandana to wear over her face and it would complete the look (not that I think Jack's face should be obscured from vision).  Also, it would be plain awesome to see Jack with an SMG in each hand.

I'm using a crappy computer at the moment, so I can't see the video. I hate the fact that every squadmate can only use three abilities each instead of say, five.

I like Jack's pull biotic move the most. Warp ammo is also great.
