Though I have no idea how Jack would have done at the party itself.

Give her an all-black outfit, a black beret, some black glasses, an Audrey Hepburn-esque cigarette holder, and she can pass as an art critic and aficionado.

Done.

I can see Jack helping Shep and Kasumi break in and out of the vault, but I think she would have stuck out like a sore thumb at Hock's party. Still, it would have been fun letting her loose on all of Hock's priceless stuff. Except Lady Liberty. No one touches Lady Liberty.

Don't forget the cloves cigarettes.   I forgot them.

What would people prefer more (and yes, I know the optimum answer is going to be "both"): more conversations between Shepard and a squadmate or more random comments from the squadmates as you walk around?

Lady Liberty being specifically Earth history, I can see Jack not even seeing the significance. "What's with the giant green head?" "It's supposed to represent freedom." "By decapitation?"

More random comments as you walk around.

Having the other squadmates react accordingly with just one line would be better still, rather than them all being oblivious to the rest of the team like most of the game. I am still bitter about that though, so meh.

I think everyone is.  This is a proper RPG, not WoW.  NPCs should be more than just quest-dispensers.

Garrus needs another conversation.

But, overall, I would like to see banter between squad mates the most.

Asking a developer why they cut out the exchange between Jack and Zaeed (which was similar to the one between Tali and Garrus on the Citadel) is on my list of five questions I want to ask a developer.

Okay, that made me laugh harder than it should have. I can even hear Jack saying that.

As much as I like talking to squadmates, I'd prefer random conversations and squad banter.

Kasumi's DLC had such potential to be the balls out fun DLC for squadmates. I can almost hear Shepard berating Garrus for shattering all the statues instead of aiming for the enemy and him saying "Don't ruin my fun, Shepard." Grunt picking up some finger food and staring at it, wondering if that was some human's idea of a joke. Miranda actually needing to think fast as one of her contacts recognize her at the party.
Though I have no idea how Jack would have done at the party itself.

The guests all wondering who it is that Thane is going to assasinate.  Jacob trying to flirt with the women there and telling them they are priiiizes.  Samara going all Rambo on everyone there for being such awful criminals.

I'd prefer squadmates talking with eachother like in DA:O. And not generic **** that can apply to any squadmates, like it is now. But conversations specifically deisgned for certain squadmates like in DA:O. I think for ME3 it could be done on the same level as DA:O. In DA:O you can have a max of 9 characters, what's 3 more?

The infiltration of Hock's party:

*a trio in dark sunglasses, berets, and beatnik clothing stand before a painting*
Random partygoer: What do you think of the painting?
Joker: I like it. It is sad and beautiful, like my mother.
Jacob: I despise it. It is too short and says nothing to me, like my father.
Jack: I have no feelings about it. It was aloof and licked itself too much, like my cat, Mr. Trotsky.

... Joker's the getaway driver, that's why he's there.

Oh, and all apologies to Tim Schafer....

A cameo.  An e-mail, at the most.

Now that that's out of the way, to answer your question, we would really need to know the format of the game.

If it's a Landsmeet thing, like in DA:O, I don't know if Jack would actually contribute anything to the story.  In that scenario, it seems to me that any character hanging around with Shepard would need to contribute something to raising awareness about the Reapers, and finding a way to stop them.  If there's a deus ex machina thing, does it really matter who's on the squad?

If ME3 is all about a deus ex machina, like I said, does it really matter who's on the squad?  It could be everyone, crammed in to every possible space they can find aboard the Normandy, or it could be an entirely new squad, or it could just be Shepard and Joker, cruising around.  Of course, in this situation, I'd love to have Jack around.

If Jack is around, I'd love to see more of her backstory explored.  Her parents (if she has any, or if she was grown in a lab), her life as a young criminal, scavenging to stay alive, then her life as a professional criminal, maybe finding out more about Murtock.  It'd just be a matter of if the content can be fit in to the material Bioware can possibly fit on a game disc, while still wrapping up the plot of the whole series.

If Shepard romanced her, then we could see her feeling much more relaxed and casual around him.  And, of course, the Super Happy ending.

Well, her presence in a non-cameo capacity, for starters.

But other than that, I want some character development in the respect that I want to see what Shepard did for her, if anything at all.  It seems that Jack more than any other character (save for perhaps an exiled Tali) was left at the precipice of some kind of major revelation at the time ME2 ended.  She won't be the same person when we see her next.

The specifics are up to BioWare and I won't be upset if they're not what I expect, just something
