I've been following that, actually. It's interesting to see some different viewpoints on Jack and Miranda.

I don't mind Miranda but there is definitely some hate there among others. So, for a few reasons, Jack is leading by a large margin.

I think you'll find among most Tali fans (and I did post the poll in the thread...) they'd have gone for Jack had Tali not been an option. As stated by privateerkev, part of that reason is because Tali & Jack are both not the traditional love interest, and part of it is because they are both aligned against Cerberus. And other reasons.

Bioware did't help her case when they put her sex scene in the engine room with no dialog and Chud said she was simple <_< oh ya and they put her in one of the worse outfits ever. Oh hai Jack fans!

Part of the reason I suspect is that to most people, Jack is easier to sympathize with. Miranda makes it hard to like her sometimes, at least for me. Granted, this may be simply poor writing but nevertheless it's still there.

I've noticed many Talifan's favoring of Jack over Miranda as well. I've always put this down to both character's anti-Cerberus stance. This may also be because, to me, Miranda's romance requires a certain kind of person for it to feel right. Tali and Jack can appeal to different people for different reasons. It doesn't seem so with Miranda.

Some statements have been made by a few others in the past here, that would allude to this.  Not you specifically, but Tali fans.

There have been a few statements. Yea, it's a little annoying when things are assumed about me by people over the internet whom I have never met. It only happens a few times in this thread, though, so it's not a pressing issue persay.

Like I said before, you can't be a Talifan without sympathy for the underdog. Quarians are basically the "gypsies" of the ME universe. Crapped on by almost everyone. Jack is also the underdog. Easy for one group to sympathize with the other character. Just my take on it.

That and there does seem to be a distaste among many talifans for Miranda doin it in Tali's workspace. So liking Jack might be in part an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing.

Well, I am not a representative from the Tali fans, I post where I please. I have already joined in several discussions on this thread, so I am no stranger here. I like to think of opinions as opinions, so I rarely work into a debate regarding Tali outside of a relevant thread or discussion.

As I already stated; I really like Jack.

Jack being tortured is  like her getting killed over and over again over several years. Think about how that may be like. It's surprising how sane she is after all of that abuse.

She was toruted and drugged when she was young, she was broke in many ways, she has the right to be the way she is.
