Jack/the author may have been referring to the "emotionless-ness" of her eyes, then, and/or the way Jack thinks Samara studies everyone quietly and menacingly with her big eyes.

Yeah, I guess her eyes are a little hard to read at times, though I think that's got more to do with them being like headlamps; they're huge, you feel them just looking into you. Samara knows, man! She knows when you're telling lies just by looking at you! Ok, being silly, but you get the idea... she can read you with them, but reading her from them is a little more difficult.

Our gal speaks volumes with her peepers. Bless her little boots :D

She's around 700 years old.   She's a Super-Cop and she's a parent.  Considering all of that, she can probably tell if someone's lying just by listening to them speak, or by looking in to their eyes.  That's not to mention the fact that criminals start sweating around her, because she's a Justicar.

OMG!

Jack has no model, right? If she does I may HNGG to death.

@York
That's why Samara is one of my favorites. She has an aura about her that I truly believe she's 700 years old. Great work on Bioware's part.

I didn't know Tali was so powerful she required a counter-alliance to combat her. You have a command structure and everything :D

We did... but the crazies stopped being so crazy... so we stopped being active.  To be fair... it was aimed more at the hardcore fans that had a tendency to shove her in peoples faces... which gets on peoples nerves (as I'm sure everyone has heard).  Now it isn't active except for a funny picture here and there... not really a need for it since the forums have slowed down and the crazies tend to stay in the Tali thread.

Agreed. They did ok on a lot of the LIs facial expressions (except Tali naturally), but Jack is so well done. Kelly's faces are also my favorite but mostly in a lol kinda way :P

Oh, how could I resist? :D

Miri, Jack and Liara have the most expresive faces in the game series, what ever the order is, is personal prefence.

And just to quote you again, I do think that Miri is capable of some very nuanced expressions (though her smiles really don't work very often). I also think some particular lighting in some areas really flatters her model. Like this one... the ice is really in danger of cracking here ^_^

Some of the lighting is horrible to everyone in the game, like Kenn's shop on Omega.

Or this Miranda picture in the OP of the Miranda thread.

Image IPB

She looks like she has a massive 5 o'clock shadow going on. :P

Don't kill me Miri fans ;_;

You do know that I am a Talimancer, right? And I'd like to point out that starting an anti-character group and shoving anti-character material in everyone's faces is just as crazy if not more crazy than shoving good things in people's faces.

But there's no way I'm derailing this thread talking about trolls.

Time for some lulz

Yea, I definitely got that vibe. They did that characterization well.

This gets me curious. What does Samara think of Jack and vice versa?

I was answering your question and yeah I can tell you are a talimancer.  Did I insult you?  No.... I answered your question.  I was simply trying to let you know that the group was not intended for regular talimancers.. and that it isn't really active anymore.  I've actually told some members of the group to settle down because they were taking it to far.

Taking it too far? You mean like some Talimancers do? We all have more in common than you think ;)

Would Samara read her like a book?  Cuz I sorta imagine it to be like Kelly; "Her tattoos are as colorful as her past, no doubt. Approaches sex casually, I wouldn't be surprised if she advanced on you." I forget the rest. Then Samara would add "if you harm her will, I'll be forced to kill you when this is all over" :D

Bloody hell I need to replay ME2 so badly.

I imagine Jack respects Samara as a person, but she probably doesn't have a lot of love for the Justicar concept, or law enforcement in general.

I imagine that Samara doesn't have a problem with Jack's past criminal dealings. I wish that we could have asked her about Jack, like we can about Jacob and Miranda.

Given her experience with dealing with the miscreants of society (so far as her code would judge, anyway), she may foresee some of Jack's intentions or mischief. I do, however, get the feeling that the relative solitude that Justicar business may entail could result in a disconnect from being able to tell "human" emotion beyond deviancy to the law.

I believe that Samara to talks to Jack on Illium if you click on Jack's "talkbox" near where all of the merchants are. I have not done so yet, however.

Really? That seems doubtful. Considering her entire code is aligned against such actions. Doing away with crime is basically Samara's livelihood right now.

True, Blur did do a good job with Jack, especially in comparison to the other characters. Because of that diffuse toned light they used and they gave some of the models way too much detail insofar as visible pores, it made them look very artificial; like overdetailed SFX appliances that have been dusted too heavily. Jack worked very well, but Shepard and Mordin looked terrible texture-wise. Glorious animation, but look like early model Terminators... rubber skin, we spotted them real easy.

Facial mocap. All de way. That is the Blur way.

Miranda looked quite good in Blur as well. It may be the lighting, but Miranda seemed less pale in the Blur version (which I like).

It's not her concern, I don't believe.  If Jack was presently engaging in criminal activity while her and Samara were aboard the same ship, that might be different.  Even then though, she is under the 3rd oath to Shepard, which gives the mission proiority over everything else.

I don't think Samara is going to sift through the Normandy crew personnel files, and decide who to erradicate for any past criminal activities prior to recruitment, after the mission is completed.

Hey axl, love your art. I'ma just say that every time we're in the same room :P

@NICK
Not sure who personally attacked you, but starting a hate group is about as hostile as it gets.

I'm willing to ignore the entire charade, though, because I like cookies.

Man, you are so correct, even 700 years of seeing the human-similar expressions of asari wouldn't prepare her for just how wacky we humans are.

And I'm going to find that talkbox.

I don't think Samara is looking through past histories while under Shepards command. Only what she see's personally on missions or what not would count I think.

I believe it would be her concern. The fact that she's a Justicar would dictate so.

Agreed.

I;m not sure she'd actively hunt Jack if Jack wasn't doing anything criminal, but if Jack continued after the suicide mission, Samara would by virtue of her allegiance to her code, try to take her down if Jack is in the area.

No really doubt about that. I don't see a romanced Jack returning to crime of course, but the other possible "versions" of Jack depending on what Shepard does may very well take up her former criminal past again.

I've gotten the impression that Samara's handling of justice is for crimes that are very much in the present moment. As she meets Jack now, Jack has committed no crime that Samara has witnessed. No one has come to Samara demanding justice against Jack. As such, Samara has no quarrel with her. Samara's past is just as checkered as Jack's.

However, if Jack were to commit a crime now, and Samara were not bound by her oath to Shepard, I think Samara would definitely be compelled to action.

If Morinth had suddenly become repentent for all her past deeds and agreed to live a life of seclusion, would Samara have still killed her? I bet not.
