Funny.

I'm just stating personal preference.

I understand your like of Jack, but that's like saying I understand people's like of murder.

Is there any place to find theories about Jack's parents? That is something I just really want to know. Someone gave their child to Cerberus so they could realize her full biotic potential and the Illusive Man wanted lots of progress updates on her. It makes me think her parents or father at least is someone high ranking in Cerberus or a substantial benefactor. The lengths the facility went to to experiment on her were behind the Illusive Man's back so obviously he wouldn't have approved. She was supposed to be kept "safe". I saw a lot of theories about Illusive Man being Miranda's father or Jack and Miranda being sisters but nothing about what powerful figure might be Jack's father....did I miss it or am I the only one who wonders about it?

If (as some are theorizing currently) there is an upcoming DLC involving Thane, we might get something similar for all the love interests. This is one of the questions about Jack I really want to see answered... though if she wasn't kidnapped, bought or sold as a slave, or the product of another oh-so-loving Glassmother, and she was willingly surrendered to the project... jeez, I really do not want to see that touching scene of a family reunited... unpack the crime scene tape and try and paint over the bloodspatters across the ceiling afterwards...

I'll also say here that if they pull some kind of magic-bullet-dodge over Keprel's Syndrome, and if Jack's 'neural degeneration' raises it's final, ugly and terminal head, I take all my thanks back, Bioware, and you'll officially suck in perpetuity... just sayin'...

Yeah, I started a thread a couple of weeks ago (that died ignominiously) that stated that I thought Jack and Miranda were sisters.  Miranda says a bunch of stuff during her loyalty mission that sounds like foreshadowing, but... For what?  TIM can't be her father, because Miranda and TIM have been in the same room without fired shots.  And that line "I'm just the first one he kept" keeps ringing in my ears.  But we could easily confirm or deny this if they gave us Jack's age or told us when she escaped.  We know neither.  There are so many unknowns circling the two of them that some of them are going to overlap.

I wonder what is Jack's oldest memory. I wonder if she can even remember anything before the Teltin facility. There is so much to Jack that we don't know about.

That would be pretty crazy if Jack and Miranda were sisters. We don't know where Jack came from and we don't even know her last name let alone her parents. Also Miranda's father was trying to make a daughter with above average everything, including biotic abilities. Maybe Miranda's father was offered a ton of money from Cerberus to give them a girl with exceptional biotic abilities. And from there they took her to the Teltin facility and did all these experiments to greater improve her biotics. That would be some crazy ****; finding out that Miranda and Jack are sisters (well sort of since they would both have been created artificially). Imagine the reactions from both of them...

Anyone wonder if she even has a name? And I don't mean 'Jack' or 'Subject Zero'. I mean, did she have a name Pre-Facility? And If so, what was it?

You know... it is telling that the only duo to get their own highlighted conflict besides Tali and Legion are these two.  Makes me wonder if they aren't planting seeds for something like that.

Well during her loyalty mission when you're looking at those video logs, one of the scientists refer to her as Jack and not subject zero. So I'm assuming her original name is indeed Jack.

Jack was awesome. I only wish we got to see more of her brutality instead of just hearing about it all the time.

So being as BioWare went through great (and in one case, game-breaking) pains to ensure that Miranda is unkillable going into Mass Effect 3, then Jack gets in by default.

YAY!  WE WON!  WE CAN ALL GO HOME!

Jack and Miranda sisters? Hmmm... would be interesting.

Anyway love to see we are getting trolls again, just keeps bumping the thread. Too bad they are not the same quality as the earlier ones.

Heh, I posted about this on the Easter Egg thread, but I thought I would outsmart the game on this one.  There's that one ad for a biotic amp on the Citadel that somehow knows who you're macking on and makes reference to them.  I thought, "Oooh, maybe this will tell me for sure that her name is Jack, or what it might have been."

And then the ad says, "...when you're out for a night on the town with ERROR: CITIZEN ID NOT FOUND..."

Well, played, BioWare.  Well played.

I miss them too, which is weird.  These new ones just kind of vanish like farts in the wind.  I remember the glory days when the trolls rode their idiocy to the bitter end like Slim Pickens on the bomb at the end of Dr. Strangelove.  They just don't make them like they used to.

It was just someone from the Tali thread. The only way they can communicate is through pictures and fanfics, which doesn't make for a very effective troll.

One of the advertisements cylinders in the Citadel.  I think it's the one on the same level as the bar, but I'm not sure; it's either that one or the one on the C-Sec level, because the third one only plays "Elcor Hamlet" ads.

It's an ad for a biotic amp called Sophist with an asari; just keep activating it until you hear it.

The name is interesting in itself... it's a cover-all from old English folklaw; much like Hans in German folktales, Jack is the prototypical English folk hero who uses his brains and guile to outsmart foes beyond his ability to simply walk over (in at least three cases giants), while almost always being a small, lazy tearaway. We say you 'don't know Jack' most likely because of this old everyman of the English language, the 'Jack of All Trades'. Jack is the common man. Faceless. Anonymous. Anyone. And we called the monkey Jack, too.

Or maybe once upon a time this little girl was called Jackie, Jacqueline, Jaxine...

That's a very interesting point. I was just thinking about this the other day. "Jack" is almost like another version of "John Doe."

There is obviously still a story to tell about Jack, all the more reason to bring her back in ME3.

Well from videos and interviews I've watched, Jack seems to be a dev favorite. The lead concept artist said Jack is his proudest creation. And Casey Hudson himsefl said Jack is the most interesting character. So it seems like there's a very good chance she will return in ME3.

Oh, and the fact that Oriana looks like one of those Conan O'Brien "If They Mated" pictures of Jack and Miranda?  That's a factor behind my reasoning, too.

That'd be a brilliant twist (if the two were siblings). The possibility hadn't occured to me, oddly enough.
