Vern Schillinger... I think JK Simmons is too cute to play such an evil bastard - wanna pinch his cheeks
That show had some sensational actors in it though. As brutal as it was, I lapped it up.
He was impeccably cast as J. Jonah Jameson, too. They look the same, and Simmons gave him the voice I just knew he had, from reading the comics. I don't know what it is with comic book movies, but some of them have very smart casting choices. Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, Kelsey Grammer as Beast.

He did too good of a job in that role. Way too convincing. Now, anytime he pops up in a movie, I always think of what he did to Beecher.

When I heard Robert Downey, Jr was Tony Stark there was that slight pause to think about it, thinking it was both an odd choice and the most perfect choice imaginable.yorkj86 wrote...

I don't think I've ever been able to think of such a perfect choice for actors to an ME character. But a movie based on the Shepard trilogy is pretty unpopular anyway. Probably best that I can't picture it.

I like it Mondo. Jack shows she knows the fine art of getting under your skin and Tali shows she has a fire when pushed up against a wall. So to speak.
I'm actually kinda interested as to what some of the bigger Tali-fans think of it. I'm currently hashing out how to write her and I think I'm starting to get a handle on her. Angry-Tali isn't something you see often though...

I could do like I did with your Kasumi/Jack fic and post a link to the story in the Tali thread to gauge reactions. They're more reasonable than you'd think if you get the right crew on at the time.Mondo47 wrote...

I'd also like Azint & Phil to be on. The discussion is also almost always better later when the forums are slower.Pacifien wrote...

They're not going to crucify you. The worst they do is look at it, say it's completely out of character, then never speak of it again because it goes against their impression of the character. It's one of the things I've not liked about the Tali thread, their tendency to shut down discussions not to their immediate liking.Mondo47 wrote...
You guys make it sound like I'm being lined up to get shot. I mean, what did I do? It's the whole lesbian-Tali thing, isn't it? You remembered and now you all know... one of 'em is gonna be standing there with a clipboard asking "Crucifiction?"
No. Freedom. Huge mistake. Said I could go. Honest
They're not all like that, but when you get a handful of reasonable people in a sea of others, makes it difficult to focus the discussion.

So Mondo over in the Jack thread likes to write quickfics and has been going for interactions between Jack and other squadmates. She's curious to know what the opinion of Tali fans would be on her latest fic which is a Jack/Tali confrontation. She points out that it happens very early on when they join the ship. http://social.biowar...6323/blog/7042/

Very well done, captures a predatory Jack's nature very well... But I do think Jack wouldn't act out like that against anybody on the Normandy just because it wouldn't be a smart thing to do. Physically and openly assaulting any member of the crew, especially one of the core members, would bring down the wrath of Shepard and she knows it. She's powerful and ruthless, but I think she recognizes that aboard the ship, Shepard's got the juice and there would be consequences. Even prisoners respect a pecking order even if they don't respond to authority.
Edit: Missed the bit about this being soon after Jack comes aboard. Could play out, and the Commander's response to such an incident would definitely help Jack define some boundaries...
