Just finished writing up a fic. Super short, but I plan on adding to it, before the week is over.

Nighttime. Or at least, it had been, in standard Earth hours. It had been one of those nights -- one of those few nights -- where Jack had kept to herself, down at the bottom of Engineering. As far as she knew, Shepard'd been sleep, as were most of the crew; keeping dock at the Citadel for repairs and supplies.
The day they'd gone to see the Citadel was almost over. With everyone getting an early night? Shouldn't be hard to go about her own business. Without someone involving themselves in her ****. She already had Shepard for that.

In no sooner than 4 minutes, Jack arrived at the CIC, intent on leaving the Normandy. She was right; not one soul breathed, in path she was headed, save for Joker, who, as usual, could be seen at the head of the ship.
"May I ask your destination, Ms. Jack?" EDI called out, damn near taking Jack -- who was halfway down the bridge, to the airlock -- by surprise. "None of your goddamn business." Jack had said, coldly. "And if you, or creak tell anyone I'm gone, I'll ****ing kill you both."
"Ms. Jack, to be killed, I would need to b--"
"Yeah, you're better off not explaining that, mom." Joker cut in quickly, pretending that he never even saw Jack coming. The act continued until she exited the Normandy, upon which he immedieately said, while watching buttons, "Did she just call me creak? Did I just hear that?"
"You are correct, Jeff." EDI would answer.
"Thought I did." Joker said, still watching the buttons.

That's interesting, Jack hating herself for letting herself become "soft" around Shepard. I'd like to see more of that in fanfics. Also, it's interesting that you think Jack would be almost addicted to the dark, criminal elements of the galaxy.

Well, considering that she's been in that part of the galaxy for most of her life, I'd believe she'd be more used to it than to what Shepard usually does, on his time.
I mean, the fighting, she could get behind. She knows that all too well. It's the downtime she's not familiar with.

And you delivered. I imagine Jack is dancing and sees Tali and says "**** it" at first but then she sees his hand on her hip and remembers about how nobody was there to help her and thinks "aww ****, no way I'm gunna let this slide".

It's an interesting thought, Sundown... I've mentioned in passing in a couple of my fics that Jack has problems that manifest particularly when she gets comfortable with the dynamic of her romance with Shepard, but I've never done more than give it lip service. I've said before that there'd be more turbulence in that relationship, and I think you've saved me a job and caught it really well there 
I think I'll have to do a blazing row one of these days... but so far I'm making a list: I want to do something with Jack and Tali discussing Shepard; Tali's feelings for him, Jack being attracted to him, and Shepard seeming to return her interest... something to give them a bit more common ground (though the moniker of 'Fishbowl' is staying for keeps now
). I want to do something with Jack and Grunt; perhaps something with a little humour, like a sparring session that gets increasingly OTT. I've got this very slender idea for Kasumi playing an extremely unwanted 'big sis' for Jack when she makes a fledgling attempt to make a pass at Shepard... and I have this image in my head of Garrus and Thane having this increasingly dull conversation about firearms while Jack sits behind them and makes sarcastic comments. Plus I'd like to revisit that conversation between Jack and Zaeed about mercs.
I'd like to do something with all the crew and Jack eventually, particularly revisiting Miri and Jack... I mean, I had Jack name her daughter after her

I'm not sure I follow. Tali snapped when Jack disrespected Shepard and then fumed at the whole Cerberus thing (she would, too). If someone then pins you against the wall, pretty much threatens your life, and then all a sudden positions their thigh in between your legs, licks your facemask, and pretends like you two were just getting to know each other, I'm pretty sure Tali wouldn't just shrug it off and go back to work like Miranda who would probably stare blankly in fear like I would.

Really? Cuz I find Shepard's more hilarious cuz...well...he's Shepard...savior of the Citadel...a living legend...can't dance. I saw a Thane-swap and he just looks ridiculous

You know I've never been to a club where that happened... though usually I was drunk way faster than anyone else (so I wouldn't remember). I think people brought me because I was fun while I was wasted.
