Eh? What's going on? I thought that the Renegade Pounce closes off the Paragon romance option completely?

Neh, just reload and you're good to go.

Sounds like a bug/exploit, not something that makes sense in continuity and canon, like the reload trick with Morinth and Dominate.

No, Jack is obviously the agressive one in that scene.  (Pounce=Tali) (Thrust=Jack)

Ok, I understand, we want originality :P When I think of thrust I think of...well, starfish.

Goat_Shepard wrote...No boom? You can actually do that?

Sure.  Just don't assign her to anything, or bring her to the final boss with you.

I mean this.

If you're taking about the romance, then yes, you have to do the loyalty mission, I believe, in order for the romance to proceed.  However, you don't have to do the loyalty mission in order for her to survive the suicide mission.

Not a bug/exploit.  It has no effect if it's not included in the save file.  I was being a bit facetious.  You just save before the renegade thrust, do the thrust(pick the bottom option), then reload.  Then you pick the top or middle option, and you're good to go.

I just meant that, from a roleplaying perspective, there's a reason that, through gameplay mechanics, the Renegade Thrust closes off the Paragon romance arc.

lol ok, ok. I thought you could go to Pragia and somehow leave without a boom, that'd be almost as idiotic as not doing the mission altogether. Seriously, it's 20 minutes long, and epic. Both my brothers did the IFF mission with nearly all the loyalty missions just sitting there. "What're you doing? Do the bloody missions!". Apparently it's impossible to talk to Kelly and/or your entire crew if you're new to Bioware games.

@LG
Too true.

@york
Oh, yeah, as well as it should. Since the paragon romance arc is the complete opposite.

Look at her arm.  They still can't quite make character models without them being a little blocky in some areas.  I hope that ME3 is DX11 capable.

That doesn't really have anything to do with DX11. 3D artists always try to use as few polys as possible as long as it's not noticeable most of the time.

Look at the surfaces on objects/models in DX7 games, and compare that to the surfaces in DX9 games.

I think it does, perhaps axl could chime in here, because I may be wrong.   From what I understand, with tessellation, fully compliant DirectX 11 hardware can procedurally generate complex geometry out of relatively sparse data sets.  You get smoother curved surfaces and more detail.  There is also better performance because of DX11 being able to take advantage of Multi-Threading and DirectCompute.

Where is that screenshot taken from? It's been posted here before but I keep forgetting to ask where it's from.

That's one of mine! Laf...but anyway, it's from Thane's recruitment mission. The janitor part. The camera cuts to one of your party members for a few seconds. Also have another great one there...

From what I understand, you can apply "gradient" lighting (Gourand/Phong) to the texture to make it look like the surface is smooth, but in reality it's still low-poly. I'd be surprised if DX11 will tesselate geometry in real-time, but I haven't exactly been keeping in touch with the news on that front... that'll be pretty crazy if it will :huh:

Lot of Samara love in here. Looks like Jack is definitely commenting on something. Samara's just staring into my soul.

Having said that, Jack looks half-asian.

Jack's always struck me as being of Irish descent. In-game, at least. In that CGI trailer, she could easily pass for some sort of Latina/Hispanic type.

Wow... I stand corrected then. It would seem that real-time tesselation would be even more computation-intensive than just rendering a high-poly model, but what do I know...

Could be a lot of things, really. York mentioned half white/light arab which sounds right, but I'm gunna go with mixed asian/indian/European for the Holy Trinity.

Dunno who that is, but maybe it's the angle or the camera or something...but those eyes look really vacant/dull. Not appealing, lol.

Looking at the picture more, I'm going to venture Lebanese. After living in Sydney so long, it might be colouring my guess, though!

Well, tis a low-quality photo, and naturally lacks the color and overall pazazz of Jack's honey-eyes :P

But the size and shape are what I see resemblance between.

You talkin about FttL Jack? Damn, you're right. In-game her skin looks pretty caucasian, though.

Makin me look up irish and lebanese women :P this is kinda fun.

Yeah, the CGI one definitely has a Mediterranean flavour to it. In-game, she's got that rather pasty complexion. She also has slight freckling, and a rather big face/head (common amongst the Irish), lol.
