I think she's a "nice enough person" from the beginning. She's just arrogant, and a bit of a smart ass. She gives Shepard more respect later on, but I don't think she is any nicer.
You can draw comparisons between any two people. Jack and Miranda have totally different characteristics.

Well Mondo.... I think they need to make a character in ME 3 that has too much ink and wears a wh*re suit. That would by my kind of girl.

I pretty much consider Cerberus Station Miranda and Normandy Miranda as two different people. There's some kind of disconnect between the writing of them, that's for certain. I'd attribute this either to different writers writing her, or that there was some expansive time between when the two were written.JohnnyDollar wrote...

Janda sounds like a Star Wars female's name. Incoming sequel to "The Force Unleashed" with a hot, tattooed, foul-tempered female protagonist.

That may be the case. She still makes some remarks throughout the game, that come across similar to that. Most of them aren't directed at Shepard, but others.

Yes, there's quite a divide. She's pretty cold when she's not talking to Shepard on the Normandy. There's some kind of writing problem here.

This is kind of how I interpret a Jack/Miranda fusion:yorkj86 wrote...
Not that Jack isn't already hot. She doesn't have to be combined with Miranda to be hot.

Miranda's model isn't ugly, but I would think that if Bioware was going for perfection, they would have gone with a little more attractive model than her. Probably just me.yorkj86 wrote...

Her outfit mostly. And all of those ass shots. Miranda apparently wears that outfit for no reason (because she never talks about it), yet there are NPCs saying she's whoring around in it.JohnnyDollar wrote...
You talking about the whole model, or just a particular feature?

I do wonder why she doesn't have a slightly more tailored suit of combat armour... something with plates in it at least. Then again, people toss the same argument at Jack without really grasping that covering her skin covers up one of her most defining and interesting features. Miranda's outfit is there for a bit of cheesecake, really, while Jack's halter is there to cover up those terrible, soul-destroying nipples. Neither has a real combat-viable outfit, but at least Jack has an artistic reason for being that way (however little practical sense it makes).
The dreaded halter, though... that can only exist for puritanical reasons.

She has that outfit on, to cater to certain players, I assume. This is what I don't understand, though. If you're going to have a girl in a video game, that you're planning on showing her figure off with certain camera angles, then have a centerfold type girl that's built like a brick sh*thouse. She's not.Collider wrote...

I personally think they messed up Miranda's appearance.
Yeah I think they tried to hard to make Miranda look like the real thing they even had to include the messed up tooth Job. Bioware should have stuck with the original blonde Miranda concept. Some people are not meant to be video game characters.
Jack on the other hand seems to be based of someones imagination at bioware since no face model can be found.

With Jack I can expect that she's going to wear something unusual - unusual is basically her character. She's over the top. Her tattooes effectively become her outfit and is less sexual than Miranda's even when she's technically showing more skin. So yea - she has a reason for why she's wearing the outfit. Show off the tats, as you said. Miranda, nothing. I think there was a lot of potential with Miranda, but it was squandered on trying to get in the ass shots and trying to make her sexy - the writing suffered as a result.Mondo47 wrote...

Miranda's character was made to appeal to tools and hormone brimming teenagers (which is most of the gaming community) so it is no surprise that Bioware would flaunt her around in that ridiculous outfit. Thats the only reason why I think she wears it anyway.
Jack is full of win

Miri looks good when the lighting works in her favor, ...Which is almost never so for quite a bit of the game she looks like she lost a fight with a frying-pan.Collider wrote...
