I'm not a fan of this whole melodramatic confrontation idea either. Ignoring Liara for a moment, I don't see there needs to be any reason for a confrontation of your new LI versus Kaidan/Ashley.

Of course we won't know till ME3, or maybe before...but I've pretty much held the belief that cheating doesn't really exist in the ME game.  You don't have a choice to break it off with the ME1 LI.  Unless you consider a post relay snuggle scene, and that LI's picture turned down on the table, a break up.  I just think that Bioware is simply giving the player the choice to go with another LI in ME2, and nothing more.  Like I said, nobody knows yet.

I'd think the only people who'd get a real kick out of the confrontations are those who attempted one during ME1. If the previous DLCs were any indication, none of the squaddies said a peep - so if there's any real "confrontation" to be had, then as Pacifen's stated it's really just between Liara and Shepard.

That's what I'm thinking. Or if the player romanced another LI in ME2, then there could be no romantic dialog/interaction between the two, and that would be the only difference.

What if a Shepard who romanced Liara in ME1 doesn't bring his ME2 LI to the SB missions?  What's Liara going to do, remotely mind-flay them through the hull of the Normandy while it's
docked in Nos Astra?

Liara's powers have grown exponentially the last two years.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

I don't think, in a lot of cases, it's about wanting to trigger a catfight per se (though don't get me wrong, I'm sure a few do), but rather it would be nice to see the ME1 squadmates interact in a meaningful way with the ME2 squadmates. Hell, the ME2 squadmates are kept in semi-segregation already so seeing them interact with each other is jarring sometimes (like the unique dialogue if you take Kasumi on Mordin's loyalty mission).

It'd be nice to break the rut that everyone in the universe exists on a one-on-one basis with Shepard. So when I say a confrontation would be nice? That's kinda what I mean. Not saying it's gonna happen. Just saying what I'd prefer.

Yeah, okay, in that context, I'm all for confrontation. But in regards to Jack, it will either be appreciation for Liara's newfound bloodlust for destruction or it will be a test on whose kungfu is greater.

The lightings a little odd here but I like this shot nonetheless.

I like that waterfall pic more than the usual screenshot people take for that scene.

The one that's always inserted with an exclamation of "dat ass"? Yeah, I'm not really fond of that one either.Image IPB

... Now I'm curious to know where that lighting is coming from... I'll just load up an old save and try to figure out where the light source is.... Could just be an arbitrary light just floating somewhere in the level though...

I think it is the latter. The sun is behind some clouds if I recall correctly.

Yeah, I'd be perfectly fine with Jack wearing those shades if she's going to light up the place with the Cain.

What nut gave Jack a Cain and a Revenant?

EDIT: I just noticed that Jack has "Barrier" instead of normal Shields.  Too bad it isn't as strong as Barrier proper.

Went ahead and gave Miranda the Blackstorm to great effect. Samara with the Firestorm was underwhelming, though.

That's about right.  Especially if it's the right time of the month.:D  Or wrong time, rather.

Kill a few, you're a serial killer. Kill a million, you're a mass murderer. Unless you win the war.

Something silly.

Factory District, The Citadel
.

Garrus, Jack and Shepard vault over a line of crates.  In the distance, within line-of-sight, Harkin stands at the control panel.  Watching Shepard's squad closely, he drops a pair of YMIR Heavy Mechs at the base of the incline leading up to the factory control room.  The Mechs deploy, swiveling their telescope-like heads as they acquire their targets.

Jack: "Shepard..."

Garrus: "Shepard..."

Shepard: "Jack."

Shepard pulls the M-920 Cain from its magnetic mount on the back of his suit.  He weighs it in his hands, as if to steady it.  Instead, he nudges Jack with his elbowHe gestures at her with a nod of his head.

Jack: "Shepard?"

Garrus: "Shepard?!"

Shepard: "Jack."

Jack takes the weapon and grins.  She exhales between pursed lips, feeling its weight.

Shepard: "The safety triggers every time you pull the trigger, for obvious reasons.  It's the red button, on the side.  Press it, then aim, brace yourself, and squeeze the trigger."

Jack chuckles with amusement, aiming the barrel of the weapon at the Mechs.  It beeps and shakes in her hands as it charges up a shot.  Garrus ducks.  Shepard follows suit, peeking over one of the crates.

Jack: "Hello, dead people!"

.....Y'know what I just realized?

Jack could probably use her biotics to 'ressurect' people. Like some sort of defib unit.

All biotics have to discharge themselves after using their powers, right?

Just thinking aloud, here.

Jack would zap Shepard every time they move from one fight to the next.

It's Labor Day weekend in the U.S..  Things might get slow, here.

I'm sorry, maybe hope and imagination are getting the better of me on a three day weekend where I have nothing better to do, but...

I've been watching the LotSB trailer a lot (because it's astounding) and, well... You know that voice that kicks in at about 0:38? The one talking about the Shadow Broker and how he's the most powerful thing Shepard's ever faced?

Now compare that voice to some of the little kid voices that Courtenay Taylor has on her VO reel on her website. I hate to bring hopes up in the chance I might be wrong, but there is too much rasp in the voice in the trailer for me to believe that's anyone but Taylor.

If this is the case, well, under penalty of kicking myself squarely in the ass in four days if I'm mistaken or my ears are failing me, we could have new Jack dialogue come Tuesday.
