If this is the case, well, under penalty of kicking myself squarely in the ass come Tuesday if I'm mistaken or my ears are failing me, we could have new Jack dialogue come Tuesday.

Christina Norman said that there players who cheated on Liara will have some "explaining to do." If so, then that would make for an easy avenue for Jack dialog. In the form of some kind of confrontation.

Part of me still wants to take the whole use of the term "cheating" to task... I mean, Shep was dead for two years. Say you die, and you somehow manage to come back a few years later, and you find your husband/wife has remarried in the interim, how in the name of Jeebus can you consider that cheating? Unless of course you're completely possessive and uncharitable and selfish. Shep's world has moved on without them... as hurtful as it might be, going with the flow is probably for the best.

That line had me in stitches... oh, so the Shadow Broker is a Reaper, eh? Villians... no sense of scale at all. Make out they're the most evil, heartless, unfeeling, merciless bastards ever born, and they still cry like babies when you empty a clip up their asses. Even Sovereign was a tantrum-thrower. Someday someone will write a villian I can get behind... :D

I'm sorry, maybe hope and imagination are getting the better of me on a three day weekend where I have nothing better to do, but...

Now compare that voice to some of the little kid voices that Courtenay Taylor has on her VO reel on her website. I hate to bring hopes up in the chance I might be wrong, but there is too much rasp in the voice in the trailer for me to believe that's anyone but Taylor.

If this is the case, well, under penalty of kicking myself squarely in the ass in four days if I'm mistaken or my ears are failing me, we could have new Jack dialogue come Tuesday.

... That voice bugged the crap out of me. It needs some sound filtering on it as to not be so grating on the ears. Double up the voice track, add a little reverb maybe?

I don't think it's cheating with Ashley or Kaidan, but it is with Liara in the sense that the game assumes the relationship is still going on - in the way that Shepard can't end it or even really talk about it. Either way though, Bioware calls it cheating.

I do wonder how Jack would react to Liara though. Could be very interesting.

I think the idea that Shepard can cheat on his ME1 LIs is silly.  At the most, there should be the understanding that people moved on after Shepard's death.  Maybe, maybe, there would be the internal, private hurt associated with Shepard choosing someone else, instead of resuming the relationship, but it should end there.

Bioware could show the characters actually doing things on their own, for the first time.  Shepard chose someone else in ME2?  You want the ME1 LI back for ME3?  Too bad, they moved on, too.  That might ruffle some feathers in the playerbase, but they can't have both living, breathing characters, and characters who wait around for Shepard to come back holding flowers and chocolates.  Otherwise, it just makes Shepard seem like he really is the center of the universe, and that everything was created for him.  This may be Shepard's story, but it's not his universe.

As for Liara, I don't think she wants Shepard to feel as if he owes her anything for what she did for him.

If Bioware calls it cheating, then they're wrong, as far as I'm concerned.  They should have at least given the player the ability to engage in more dialog with his/her ME1 LI, if they want to call it cheating.   As it stands now, all you get is a kiss from Liara.  The email from Kaiden/Ashley is universal I think, regardless of whether you romanced them or not.  I don't read emails anymore though, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.  Not to mention that Shepard has been dead for two years.

I don't get the planet scanning deal (denial). Unless they're just too proud of the concept to accept that it may not have been such a great idea to implement it that way.

They already admitted that it was imperfect, with the changes to scanning, in the most recent patch.

Scanning artificially inflates the lifespan of each playthrough.  It's not exaclty the most honest method.

True, they admitted that it's imperfect, but they said that the player enjoys it, or something to that effect.  It seems that the overwhelming majority of members on the forum, think it stinks.:D

While we're having the "cheating" debate, here's a Jack-question for you all: I've imported a few more ME1 Sheps, and since I can change the skillsets of Sheps during the Laz rebuild (from Soldier to Adept, for instance) I'm trying out some of the combat types I've never really explored fully (as in from beginning to end of the game, no switching about) before (I'm currently messing about with an Infiltrator and actually enjoying it)... I just couldn't get my head around Adept at all though, and that guy's already been deleted before I got his ass off Omega, but my question is this - is there a particular kind of military training you can imagine giving someone a combat mindset that would make them a kinda combat-kindred-spirit to Jack? I was thinking a Vanguard, since it's all about getting in close and hammering people flat, but does anyone have any other takes on this?

Hope that makes sense... I've just reread it and I'm not that sure about it :D

Can't quite parse what you're asking, Mondo. Like, what sort of combat experience/combat preferences does someone need in order to compliment Jack's style?

Vanguard definitely fits the bill, especially with that Charge they do now. Seemingly reckless from an observer standpoint, but powerful, effective, and a method to the madness.

Jack's style always struck me more as having faith that everyone on the job knows what the hell they're doing and what they're capable of doing, so let them loose upon the field and figure it out themselves. Not so much active teamwork as it is intuitive teamwork. Know what the objective is, figure it out yourself how you can get everyone to that objective. If you die along the way, you weren't supposed to be there in the first place.

If you're thinking of combat chemistry, Mondo, I'd imagine going for a Sentinel playthrough. They can lower defenses like nothing else, leaving them open for Jack's pull or shockwave, or at the very least let her pull a shotty snipe with that brand-spanking new Geth shotgun. Let her get the hit. Be accomodating.

I'm not biased towards Sentinels at all... No, ma'am...

EDIT:  You might want to use Energy Drain as your special power.  It is your bestest friend foreverest.  That and Warp can bring anything down to the red in no time.

Of course everyone's going to their favorite class is the one that is most attuned to Jack's personality

Vanguard's probably the closest.

She might find the Sentinel's toughness, resourcefulness, and broad knowledge of tech and biotics to be respectable.

Jack works real well with other biotic classes. I would say Adepts and Sentinals more so than Vanguards.

Her Subject Zero class evolves to either Primal Adept, or Primal Vanguard.  She's a hybrid between the two.

Well, in my boredom, I've decided to make another music video for ME2. This is probably going to be the last one I do until Sept. 7, though.

For those that were/are watcthing those vids, that was a heads up. And thanks for taking the time to watch whatever sh*tty quality data I threw up, there.

And, on a related note, I might go through ME 1 just to see what happens if I DID cheat on Liara with Jack. Anything to cure this boredom of mine.Image IPB

Nice man, maybe a little too long, but nice.Image IPB

BTW does anyone have a pic of Jack looking out the window at the Normandy on her recruit mission?

Regarding combat chemistry (story wise) I never pair Jack up with a biotic.

I feel biotics are her thing, they're an important aspect to her character and thus she should be the one to fill the role of biotic.

Personally I think her and a soldier Shepard are a perfect match, he's got all the guns and efficient military training and shes got the raw biotic power.

Here's a little higher quality one than Sundown's. (Right click -> Open image or whatever)

Sorry about the captions, I had them on for whatever reason when I recorded that one.

On my Sentinel, I used a save-file editor to respec Jack. Even though she's loyal, I find I get far more use out of her with Pull Field, max class ability, and 3/4 Shockwave. I feel guilty, for some reason, for not putting points in to Warp Ammo, but I love Warp explosions too much. Things don't have biotic effects on them for very long, for that reason.
