[Captain's Quarters]

Shepard stood absorbed in thought with a datapad in hand when he heard failoot steps briskly coming behind him. A pair of arms encircled him tightly before he could turn around.

"Hey Jack," he smiled as he put the datapad on the desk.

The biotic said nothing and simply tightened her grip.

"Jack?"

Still no response, but her arms began to constrict themselves further on his torso.

Shepard's voice took on a concerned tone, "Jack. What's wro-"

Before he could finish his sentence, he felt himself lifted a few inches off the ground before seeing the world upside down as he was flipped backwards in a german-suplex and bounced off the bed into the wall.

Jack, flipping back onto her feet from a bridge position, couldn't help but cackle to herself as she crooked a finger at Shepard.

"Ready for round 2?"

Shaking the cobwebs from his head, Shepard got up and flexed his neck, grinning ear to ear as he assumed a grappling stance.

----------------------------------------------------------

Short answer... I think Jack is most definitely a full-contact sport person. Rugby, Lacrosse, wrestling.. So on a scale of 1-10 she'd be a 10 for spartan-esque agressiveness.

LOL. Damn.

I'd assume she'd be most interested in MMA, then, seeing as she was conditioned to fight, like that.

Oh, I assumed that biotics would be prohibited, as a rule. As for football, American football, humans don't play that much anymore, because krogan have canonically replaced humans on the professional teams. Having biotics, and/or being cybernetically enhanced would be the only way a human could stand up to a team of krogan football players.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. And now that I realize it, I'd pay to see someone making a fic about the squad taking the sport back.

Even though that'd account for like, what, 4 people? Not counting Miranda.

Y'know what? Seeing as I can only get low res pictures from gameplay, I'm gonna see if I can't draw a few pictures. I need to work on my skills, anyway.

With that being said, does anyone still have those pictures of Jack's tattoos? Or a link, perhaps?

Thanks. Much appreciated.

I'm gonna kick things off by drawing just her face, though. I'm better at those.

Just to clarify - you know, this whole Jack & Miranda vibe I have going - I really don't expect them to get on well, but I don't really believe that they never could. I mean, working together over an extended period, and with both of them finding their points of view being sufficiently altered over time... no, they won't ever be BFFs or anything like that, but I can see a place coming into vision where they might still snipe at each other and throw their weight around and cuss and hurl abuse, but it goes no further; they both understand where the other is coming from, and while it's fun to make faces and snide comments now and then, they've grown to see they're not exactly who each thought the other was to start with. Plus, a Jack being romanced... even more of a perspective change.

Enough for maybe, in my totally bizarro universe, for this to be said -

Miranda:
Mom, who was that on the link?

Mom: Someone who's gonna end up with my foot in her ass again if she keeps it up.

Miranda: If Aunty Miranda makes you so mad, why did you name me after her?

Mom: Because, little lady, the first thing you did when you came out was start b*tching at everyone in the room. Waaaaaaaaaaaa. You have my nose, your daddy's eyes, and her lungs. Never thought you were gonna shut up...

Mother takes daughter in her arms and kisses the top of her head.

Mom: And because you're f*cking perfect.

Miranda: Mom! Stop cursing!

;)

Aw, that's cute, Mondo. Pity, she didn't inherit her mother's eyes, too! I wondered why you chose that name for their child.

I like how Jack's daughter automatically knows it's Miranda, after she gets her answer.

Odd, tangenital sideways thought about this girl: say our young Miranda grows up, sails on through high school... is any boy going to have the balls to ask her to the proverbial prom? I mean, ordinary parents must be mildly intimidating to teenage lads, but a girl who has a galactic saviour who exterminates ancient space-gods and a woman who is rumoured on the extranet to have been a member of a couple of dozen criminal organisations, has more tattoos than a cell block, and can potentially kill by just looking at you funny? It'd be like shark-diving with a dead seal tied to your back and blood bags strapped on as flotation devices- the slightest wrong move, the most momentary lapse of concentration, and your life expectancy is gonna plummet, and the entire time you're in the water your heart is going to be beating so fast you might just die anyway :D

Poor little Miri Shepard is never going to go to the ball ;)

Sure she can.  Anything can happen in the world of make believe.  Just write it and make it so.^_^

Jack:  Well Sasha, has anyone asked you to the prom.

Sasha:  Not yet mom.  Miranda was making fun of me because she has a date to the prom.

Jack:  Who?!

Sasha:  Miranda.

Jack:  You'll get a date to the prom, Sasha.  F*ck Miranda, that b*tch is probably a worse tramp than the Miranda that I killed after I helped save the galaxy.  If she makes fun of you again, smear the walls with that skank.

Sasha:  Umm..ok mom.

Next Day:

Sasha:  I got a date mom.  Logan asked me to the prom.

Jack:  See, I told you would get a date.  Good for you honey.

;)

So I'm finished with drawing Jack. Good news is, it actually looks similar to her. Bad news is, it's not finished, and probably never will be.

I was never good at drawing backgrounds.

That, and I don't have my damn printer. So I can't get the picture up.

It'd take a guy with at least as much confidence as Shepard needed to possess to venture in to the bowels of the ship and talk to Jack.  As you said, it'd take a pretty confident guy to be able to endure the curious chemistry between Shepard and Jack.

I'd think some more about Jack's nature as a parent, but that's just getting too deep in to wish-fulfillment territory for my tastes

Ok, I know in the past that I said I didn't want Jack and children mentioned in the same sentence.

But as long as Mondo's writing...

Isn't there a mod where you can swap Shepard for any member of your crew?

Swap Shep with Jack, romance Miranda, record/screencap, video edit, and BAM

The abridged version of the B word. [/inside joke]

Hell, if a person is going to go through the trouble of using a mod just for that purpose, then why not just visit a porn site?

Jack speaking with Shepard's voice while Miranda strips for her is nowhere near as horrifying as the ME-related porn I've seen posted on 4chan.  I think that's a satisfying explanation, yes?

EDIT: Speaking of 4chan, some guy with unverifiable sources claims that PC owners did Miranda's loyalty mission far more often than Xbox360 owners did.  Xbox360 owners did Grunt's loyalty mission far more than PC owners did.  Discuss.

If you're talking about ME related porn, then yes.  I wasn't, though.  If something like that turns you on, then why waste your time on a damn video game, when the web has content of real people doing just about anything imaginable known to man.

Actually, they're verifiable.  And those stats are straight from the Hudson's mouth, via the interview he did at IGN along with some stats that BW's sharing.  They're currently setting the forum aflame.

So statistically, Jack might be alive in more 360 games than Miranda... Hmm...

Ah, I misused the word.  I meant that he wasn't providing sources, which made me doubt the veracity of what he was saying.

My amateur analysis of that information is that Xbox360 owners like the shooting elements of the game more, and prefer characters who don't need complicated motivation for why they shoot things.

How did you reason that Jack might be alive in more 360 games than Miranda?  Does it have to do with Grunt and the suicide mission?
