TO ALL JAKC FANS ON THE THREAD:
Speaking of art, I might, and let me repeat that, I might decide to do a "serious" fan art of Jack - not one of my silly parody comics, I mean something "artistic". Actually, I had decided to put all my "artistic art" on hold until I'm done with some other project *nods to Mondo*, but apparently I can't even follow my own rules ;-) and, btw, there are not enough Jack fan arts on the net imo.

Soooo... what are your suggestions? I might end up drawing something without following your advices or, probably, I won't draw anything at all, so don't get your hopes high ;-)

Well my (quickfic-wise) canon Shep, Daniel, isn't ruthless at all. In some ways, he's actually less together than Jack is. He's not faced what happened to him at all; he's tried to shove it under the carpet and forget about it, but like Teltin, even if you try to forget things, they don't forget you. He has nightmares, flashbacks, bouts of depression, and shares it with no-one; he refuses to talk it over with family or friends, as explained by his mother, Hannah... and it's slowly killing him in a sense; if he wasn't constantly playing the hero, he'd probably be in the bottom of a bottle in a bar. It's a foe he can't fight; the giant killer worm-monster called PTSD. He's one step away from the edge in a quiet way - just like Jack being one step away as loudly as possible.

Jack on the other hand, sure, she's not exactly the most stable person in the galaxy, but she has coping mechanisms that Shepard hasn't got. I saw them fitting because he could help her, and she could help him, and in doing so both learn how to function as close to "normal" as is possible for them. There'll be a lot of rasied voices, fights, all-out breakups as they ride roughshod over each other's boundaries to try and repair each other's damages, but they can do something for one another that only they are really in a position to do: find the path back from the brink - not just for themselves, but for each other.

To me, it's exceptionally romantic, and also it means Jack can provide for this particular Shepard in a way no other love interest could - she's been there, too. While Miranda is recommending Shepard sees a therapist, or while Tali is smothering him in the hope she can make him forget, Jack just understands because she has similar anxieties and fears; nightmares that won't go away. So she can be there for his, he can be there for hers, and together, they might just defeat them completely.

Recipe for an indestructable couple if they make it, eh?

The consensus just seems to be that Epantrias rules and the rest of us are... well, the rest of us.

I did one of Jack recently, if you wanna look.  It's not Epantrian, but it's not complete sh!t, imo.

Naw, g'head.  We all like Jack-oriented art here, don't get me wrong.  

Just don't follow Epantrias in the art dept, or Mondo in the fanfic, or no one will ever see it.

I think thats the problem I have with it.Shepard seems so " I have trauma too!" to me, I guess I don't like trying to get them to have something in common like that.

My Shepard... "Batarians slaver killed my family so I took out Torfan." It isn't connected to Jack at all.... she is just another powerful biotic. That is what they have in common.

I wish Shepard's background would have more meaning in the game, other than the player saying "this is my Shepard's background". Perhaps having NPCs treat you a little differently, and maybe have a mission that is unique to that background. A real mission, unlike the little side quests in ME1.

Don't give them any ideas... they already nickel and dime us constantly.  Let them put it in ME3.
