There's another version of this picture, but Jack looks even more super pissed-off in this one than in the other.

I think our theory of Shepard's crew breaking him/her out of prison is the best one.

So, who do you guys think Jack resembles the most, a deeply disturbed serial killer like Jeffrey Dahmner, or a thrill killer, like "The Night Stalker" Richard Ramirez?

Judging from her "I still get warm feelings during a fight" quote I'd assume she'd be the lust/thrill type of killer.

(I imagine some would find this a creepy topic...)

Considerably less creepy than discussing what Tali's sweat would smell/taste like.

I am indifferent to the Talimancers, but the internet will never let them live that down.   Ever.

Anyway, I think Jack is more of the thrill-kill type, if we believe what she tells us.

Does this mean it really happened?

Yes, a diagram was created, too.  They were very scrupulous about it.

Creepy?  Meh, creepy is when you kiss your grandmother, and she sticks her tongue in your mouth, or whenever you take your underwear off, it crawls under the bed.  Now that's creepy.

I don't think that's quite it.  It's more probably like "This is in my comfort zone, I'm damn good at it, and it gets the adrenalin going."

Ah, Smudboy. Master of the pyramid argument. Once again, he seems really reasoned for a few seconds, and then shoots himself in the foot when he says most women make no goddamn sense. And I stop watching. Maybe if he got out of his room and stopped making these damn videos he might come off as less supercilious and faux-intellectual. Or as yet another Yahtzee-wannabe.

Maybe it's what passes for a sense of humour to him, but to me, it comes over about as welcome as a smear test.

I wondered if that would bring you out of the shadows Mondo.:D  I try to bring you out myself sometimes, but since you probably realize that I'm just playing with you, you ignore me.:P

Hey, spout some sexist crap and I'll come spar with you, Johnny. Thing is, I'll know you're just messing with me for a bit of butting-heads action, and I'll stay in the shadows with my chocolate! Omnomnom! :D

As for what kind of killer Jack is... it strikes me that everyone she kills she has a reason for murdering; some monsters kill simply because they can, some for the power they feel over their victims, others still because the act of killing fulfils some other urge (sexual, being an obvious "for instance" there). Jack only seems to kill in reaction to an outside force acting upon her, and through the lingering after-effects of her tortuous past. If I had to compare her to any multiple murderer, I'd be forced to say Aileen Wuornos. Only Jack has something Wournos lost; she still hopes.

Actually, I was going to mention Aileen Wournos, instead of Dahmer, but there was a little more shock value with Dahmer.;)

Jack really doesn't favor any of them.  She's more like a criminal, who has killed people either in committing her crimes, or self defense, most likely.  I don't think that she really has the urge, or compulsion, to kill.  Yes, fighting and killing makes her feel good, but it's artifically conditioned, and not a product of being of unsound mind.

Eh.  Smudboy being a smug, pretentious douchebag doesn't make him any less correct.

Most of the arguments he lists in that video we've already discussed here.  We've already accepted that there are elements of Jack's character that don't make sense, but we're willing to look the other way, because we like her character.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if Jack & Miranda's argument, and Tali & Legion's argument, were left in because the characters really just needed more screen-time for development.  Mordin & Grunt, who do have dialogue for a fight, come early in the game.  Grunt is a pretty easy character to understand, and we talk a lot with Mordin anyway, even apart from his loyalty mission.  Tali & Legion enter the game especially late.  As for Miranda & Shepard, the developers may have felt as if Jack needed a little more screen-time.

I watched his plot analysis videos 6 months ago, or however long ago that was.  Boy, they say times flies by faster the older you get, and it's true.  I recall that I thought that he did have some valid points there.

About drawing comparisons of Jack and other killers, I suppose the word "outlaw", would probably better describe her.  Not an evil, or sick deranged psychopath, just someone who doesn't follow the rules, is misguided, and has been a very bad girl.

As far as the confrontations between the squadmates goes, if it developed the characters, I don't think it developed them very much.  It did add to the experience, I think.  I would like to see more interaction between the squaddies in ME3.

Saying most women do not make sense is my bone of contention, not elements of Jack's character being inconsistant in various ways. It undermines any credibility he might have had when commenting on women (be they real or imaginary). So in my book, it makes him much less correct... but hey, if he wants to paint himself as a basement-dweller, who am I to argue with the stereotype he already fits.

See? Not nice to be pigeonholed, is it?

In a way I'm glad that Bioware cut the argument with Mordin and Grunt. It'd be like beating a dead horse in the same way we all expect conflict from Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion.

We know Mordin expressed remorse over his involvement with the genophage - any butting of heads was between him and Shepard. Grunt - being a week old and all - had yet to be emotionally invested in any Krogan issues in the same way Wrex is.

There were plenty of missed opportunities with the cast of Mass Effect, and I think no one knows that better than the ME staff at Bioware.

Speaking of staff... I had this weird thought about there being no comment about Jack's face model. What if she's based on someone that works at BioWare, or a relative of someone that works there (wife/girlfriend/sister/whatever) - might explain why everything is so vague.

She might even be based on a random person known to the creatives responsible for her crafting - like a waitress in that cafe just down the street from the offices...
