Damn, where did you get that armor.

Just a random question does anyone know if any videos of Jack show up in LotSB. We have one of Jacob doing crunches, do we have one of Jack...threatening crew members?

There's a vid of Jack's path of destruction through the Purgatory station... shows off why she's really one hell of a biotic.

Is there only one SB video of Jack doing stuff?

I kept expecting to see a glimmer of Kasumi's tactical cloak field in the video of Jacob doing crunches.  That was a missed opportunity.

EDIT: One thing that kind of irritates me about Jack's romance arc is that, unlike with the other romances, it's directly stated that the whole thing develops after only a "few talks".  With the other characters, you can fill in the gaps with your imagination/fan-fiction, because the game doesn't take place in only the span of time the player needs to complete it.  I wish Shepard didn't say that line.

I think it depends on how you read that line, I think. I always read it as being more a case of Shepard making a point of how much time it'll take to try and get Jack to accept things differently. A "few talks" - considering the trauma involved - could even be months of conversation... it's a healing process that may well take years, and I always saw the line as Shepard saying he can't make things better overnight, but he's willing to try all the same if Jack has the patience for it.

I forgot to mention - be sure to take special note of Jack's facial expressions and her voice-acting during the romance "talks".  A lot of work seems to have been put in to making her very expressive.

*Puts on Nerd Hat*

Penance, a Marvel character, has a shaved head, has emo tendencies, and has his powers fueled by pain.  His costume even shares the orange of Jack's prison jumpsuit.  Just some similarities I noticed.

*puts glasses on ans starts sipping earl grey tea*

Actually, the character concept behind Jack and Penance has been used for many other fictional characters. Jack and all the other ME2 companions are heavily based on archetypes ("stereotypes" would not be the right word) that make them easily recognizable (the badass alien warrior, the assassin, the "mad" scientist, dat ass, the paladin and so on), yet each one has some particular features that make them unique.

Anyway... let's do an analysis:
female with shaved head: "unconventional" person
emo tendencies: unstable person
powers fueled by pain: unstable person
orange: that's the color of prisoners (in the USA), therefore it's an instant "that person must be dangerous"

From my point of view, the above mentioned features all fall in the same "unconventional, unstable, dangerous" person, which is a common thing among fictional characters ^_^

*stops sipping tea, I've never liked tea that much*

The "ME1&2 Survey" results are in.

Jack came in as Number 2 LI (after Liara)

What the butt?    How did she rank over Tali?

EDIT: I hope Bioware sees this and gives Jack Warp, at least, for ME3.  No one should have such universal trouble against defenses as Jack does.

So Jack is like a fine wine?  I'm okay with this.

jack is a strange person to support.

If in ME3, we see extreme character development, that Shepard has cracked her defenses and she is able to think of things other then survival then great.

If she reverts to a bad girl **** just for the hell of it, she will have lost all of her depth.

1. Why is she a strange character to support.

2. She's the way she is due to everything that had happened to her, all her crap isn't going to be dealt with because someone cares.

So no, I don't think she'll lose her depth because she isn't all cheerful and super happy.

1. Because on the surface at least, she seems to be a b**** who doesnt care about anyone or anything but her own survival.

2. I get the way she is. Which is why I can be understanding of it. But that doesnt mean she cant evolve, or that I cant help her.

I dig the Jack romance. I hated the Moragan romance. This is because Jacks problems were made, added on. Showing that there is still that child inside her wanting to grow up and evolve and move past what Cerberus did to her.

But if what you see is what you get with her, then she has no depth. Thats pretty much the definition of it.

But I think the final romance scene shows that there is something more.

No one's saying that Jack can't evolve as a character.  However, having her change significantly in ME2, or between ME2 and ME3, is unrealistic, and a detriment to her character.

Additionally, she can't change because of the romance arc, because not everyone romanced her.  At the most, most people got to hear her thank them for helping her, which is a lot, considering Jack.

So how does the Jack romance start? I'm about to go to Purgatory to get her......can you start it right after that? Or Post Horizon?

Apparently, I've discovered the new type of "character specific" missions we're going to see in Mass Effect 3 :P

After you've played through the game once, and after you've romanced a character once, if you decide to romance the same character again, his/her loyalty mission pretty much becomes a "love mission".
