That's great! Mind if I use that in my signature?

I've obviously hit a nerve with this, so I'm sorry - it's not what I meant to do and I hope you understand that, but if what you're wanting here is a fight, I'm not giving you one. I'm out.
I would elaborate and give a better explanation, but it would probably just be deleted. I was too harsh, and you're right, it was uncalled for.
I'm having to apologize a little too often around here. Maybe I can direct that to being more positive in the future.

Can we see your notes? Want to compare notes?
I don't have a problem with that, but I'm going to have to demur until next weekend, Other than the occasional mobile phone post I'm unlikely to have access to both my notes and an internet computer for the next week or so. Business travel pays well, but can suck to.
Oh and don't expect any fancy phrasing. I may read psychology books for fun, (i need something to do while travelling) but i'm strictly a blue collar writer at heart.

Would you want your jugs bouncing around in a fight? Ok so maybe a belt bra isn't exactly the best example of support for mammary glands, but sometimes something is better than nothing.
My preference would be for the "top" she wore in the CGI trailer thing. It shows off the tattoos just fine and doesn't look absurd in comparison to the "I'm edgy right up until my nipples get involved" belt bra.
In that case, nothing would definitely have been better.

Did you decide to do anything with the idea for a picture that Mondo tossed at you?

Sleepy Jack? Yes, I already have something in mind for that.
IIRC, Mondo's idea was about an out-of-place-looking Jack sitting alone at the table in the Normandy's cafeteria, late at night, with a cup of something to drink.

The ship's night cycle, simulating night. Relatively speaking, it's night.

Since I love logic so, in my short fiction scenes I adopted the naval standards used on submarines for use on spacecraft; if you're in a vessel that can remain underwater for months at a time if need be, night and day have to be simulated through working and sleeping in cycles based on duty rosters. Downtime is rotated, and bunkrooms can be blanketed off (basically) to give a little restful darkness (though not on all ships, mind you). The Normandy has some bunk room space and the "sleep coffins" in the passageway to gunnery control... so time in a "real" bed is probably rotated or designated based on ranking, but it also makes sense to "dim lighting" in sections not seeing active duty within them, so the ship could well have a simulated night cycle for the crew deck, considering that only gunnery control or the madical bay could conceivably need round-the-clock manning.
It might even run on more than a 24-hour cycle - some naval vessels run on 28-hour rotation, though I'm yet to go over the standard 24 for clarity of reading. As for night... I can see the Normandy having a period where the galley is empty, the lights are down to emergency-only while the sleep-coffins are full, and the crew deck is finally a place where a troubled, antisocial woman might be able to sit in comfort and not be harassed or stared at by the other crew... miserable Cerberus lapdogs that they are... and wonder if that guy upstairs is just stringing her a line of bullsh*t like everyone else...
So that's why I at least think the Normandy has a night

Also, the crew is 24, you can learn this from EDI i think as soon as you take over the Normandy. there are at best 16 hot-bunks, so Mondo's theory makes a lot of sense. The specialists all have their own areas, many of them have some form of sleeping area of their own.
So it's likely that there is at least an Alpha and Beta shift, with the main crew being on the Alpha shift when Shepard is up and the Beta shift being a skeleton watch when Shepard is down.

And having a skeleton crew awake while others sleep is a good idea, better than noting!

I remember that the first ME novel explains the simulated night/day cycles used on ships and space stations... as far as I remember, humans still use earth 24 hours systems while aliens have a different one.

The aliens use a 20 hour day, where each hour is 100 minutes, each minute is 100 seconds and each second is half of a Terran second. It averages out to be about 16% longer than a regular Terran day.
Why our xeno pals use the decimal system is beyond me considering that most have the rule of 3 about them, however I remember reading something about how a GSD is an average of the 3 primary council species standard days.
To make this post Jack related, I believe Jack secretly enjoys the mornings.

I know the Normandy isn't a flag-vessel, but I recall hearing that 'day' on fleet flagships was generally 'the admiral is up'.

I dunno about all that, but (strangely enough), I remember walking around the ship and counting the number of crew standing around the ship (not including useable team members, but counting Chakwas and Joker), and I believe it was 24, matching the number of beds.
-edit. Since I needed an excuse to open ME2 for the first time in ages...
Engineer Daniels
Engineer Donnelly
2 members in the crew quarters
5 standing/sitting on the crew deck (by the tables)
Mess Sergeant Gardner
Dr. Chakwas
Kelly
6 members standing around the galaxy map
8 using consoles in the CIC
Joker
Seems it's 27.
-edit again. Jacob, Mordin, Samara, Garrus, Grunt and Tali don't have their own beds. Legion probably stands, perpetually, and maybe Grunt recuperates in his pod.
So, 33 bodies for 24 bunks. I guess there are two shifts.
