lol thanks Mondo I needed the laugh :D  Team Awesome is aptly named!  I love using Jack in my party even when it doesn't make sense given some of the encounters.  Combining her with Grunt (Also one of my favourites) I always feel like "Yeah...We bad!"

I had a Team Awesome for Dragon Age (which, oddly enough, included Zevran, who agreed we were ridiculously awesome). I had a Team Awesome for Mass Effect 1. I have yet to find Team Awesome for Mass Effect 2. It doesn't seem to exist for me. Closest I got was Samara/Thane as an Adept. Whenever I actually sit my butt down for an extended ME2 playthrough, the intention is to have Jack on the team for an entire playthrough. She's been my problem squadmate for a long time.

Well, if Jack and Shepard ever become separated, it is imperative that she makes her way to the Friendly Arm Inn...

That depends.....is Sarevok gonna ambush them in the middle of the night?  ....I think I just stumbled onto how they're gonna explain Shepard's new death in the beginning of ME 3!

In my quest to understand peoples' ME2decisions/morality in relation to their preferred LI(apparenlty I'm the only one who likes 'em all to a degree :P). I've come with a quick question..errr...more rather two.

Are the many paragons who romance Jack? Renegades? A mix? I think it's interesting to see what typeof character people pair up with Jack. For example, certain Shepards may not be able to getpast Jack's criminal past.

Finally, if you keep the Collector base, do you think Jack would be able to understand your reasoning afterwards? I could definitely see her Jack and Shep getting in a fight if Shepard kept the base. She of course wants you to blow it sky high, but I think that has more to do with her feelings about Cerberus and not her thoughts about the reapers.

Don't have an answer regarding the romance 'cause I haven't done it, but in regards to the Collector Base, my Shepard basically has one thing to say to all squadmates about keeping the base: the fight is against the Reapers and I'm taking every resource available, so get in line or step aside, but don't get in my way. It's basically taking no argument, just orders to get out if you don't like it.

Actually, my most paragon Shepard kept the base 'cause I roleplay her kinda crazy obsessed about the Reapers.

It's been said before (and recently) that Jack can be paired up with a broad variety of Shepards, but it's always best if roleplaying reasons are given for why that Shepard would be interested in her.  You can encourage her violent behavior, or you can white-knight it.  Maybe she was intentionally written that way.

As for my Shepard, I don't have a final, canon saves for ME3, yet, because there's still DLC coming(?).  One will be a Sole Survivor, and will romance Jack.

One would hope that, despite her hatred of Cerberus, Jack might understand Shepard's reasons for keeping the Collector base.  The decision might be easier for her to stomach, if it's made by Sole Survivor Shepard.  If even the guy who has just as much of a reason to despise Cerberus thinks it's a good idea to hand over the base, well, maybe...

Mondo kind of hit the nail square on it's head.  A person's play style largely dictates what squad member you take.  Every member has their strengths.  I used Kasumi for my last playthrough in LoSB and it worked pretty well for me.

Don't really agree. Regardless of playstyle, the game (even on the most difficult setting) simply isn't hard enough (this is the least intelligent AI ever) to necessitate ever switching up party members beyond those you like for aethestics, personality or whatever.

I always try to think whou would be best suited for the sort of mission we would be doing. Search and destroy, infiltrate and exfiltrate, rescue, etc. It was easier in ME1, ME2 requires a bit of metagaming as the mission descriptions simply aren't that descriptive. I don't like to call it metagaming though, I like to call it "filling in what should have been there in the first place"

The only crewmember who doesn't see much play for most of my Shepards is Kasumi, when you Q or E on her she insists on doing her shadow strike instead of Overload or Flashbang. I could bind those individually, or I could just bring Zaeed who knows what to do and when to do it. I only wish Shotgun squadmates like Jack would stop freaking standing on boxes all the time. I get it Jack, you're totally badass but badasses need cover too.

I play weaker classes so I need a tank. Unfortunately the way ME2 is set up the goons just run right through gunfire, while Jack can do nice spikes of damage, so can I usually and because of the shared cool-down on biotics we both have to take cover a lot or die. Jack doesn't understand that concept so you have to babysit her or just be ok with her occasional suicide runs. Hey, sometimes she comes out of them on top, unless it's a Krogan or husks and it's often Krogan and husks.

This could be intended... I remember back in the ME1 days when I was forced to bring a tech specialist with me in order to hack locked containers... I learned that in the hard way, going to Noveira with Liara and Ash AND LEAVE EVERY DAMNED LOOT LOCKED INSIDE A CRATE ON THAT PLANET. What a waste.

It is advised to have a team able to take down any kind of enemy defense, but as Adriano said, it's not that hard. In my first playthrough, I used a Sentinel Shepard and it basically allowed me to bring anyone I wanted since I already had all the powers I needed.

The way it works for me (taking the Team Awesome route) is that I take my time and aim my shots with the longest range weapons I have available, only switching to short range if something gets close enough. Grunt handles medium range, Jack handles close and offers crowd control if the sh*t hits the fan. If I take other squad members, things can get dicey here and there. I'm not the world's best gamer, and I don't feel I have to play on Insanity to validate my status as a gamer, so I go with what works for me. As I've learned how to handle the other character classes, I've found that even when I'm deprived of better ranged tools like assault and sniper rifles, my method works for me. Sometimes, the whole idea of roleplaying it (taking tech experts where I might need one, etc.) just falls by the wayside.

It's just what works for me... doesn't suit every single mission, mind you (I usually take someone with real ranged abilities for Legion's loyalty mission, for instance), but it works well enough for me not to change it. Much like Epants said, you couldn't do that back in the first game or you'd never be hacking locks Image IPB

Yup, I joined.  Will you submit your Jack-related pictures to that group?

Yes :)

I was surprised that there wasn't any Jack DA group yet, I would have created one myself if I didn't lack the time to "administrate" it.

Really?  Hmm...I've always assumed I was terrible at this game, now you've confirmed it!  :)

Laf, if only there was ever something worthwhile in any of those containers aside from junk to be turned into gel.

I remember not being able to open the safe with Wrex's armour in it a couple of times, so I can relate to the irritation there...

It's one of the reasons I <3 Tali to bits. She was the 'Lets you do s**t' character in ME1 with some awesome tech stuff to wreck Geth's days. Since my femshep is a vanguard, I'd handle wetworks and Garrus would Do What He Does Best. Apart from Callibratean and collar poppan' of course.

Maleshep on the other hand is a soldier, so Jack fits right in. Which is handy, since she's ended up his 'canon' love interest. (What can I say, I do <3 Tali.)

Someone post that comic of Wrex playing ME1, and complaining about Shepard being a "worthless human" because his Electronics skill isn't high enough to open locked containers.

Legion would be useful if he didn't have a copy/paste basic set of powers, and a useless bonus power.

Here's a question for you guys: If you weren't able to romance Jack, and can only be friends, who else would you romance in the game, or would you just stay single?

If we weren't able to romance Jack, and were just left with Tali, Miranda, Ash or Liara for a Male-Shep to romance? Liara. Her romance has developed a nice dynamic to it now, and the other three are (to me at least) pretty damn one-dimensional exercises in women throwing themselves at Shepard with minimal development. Or I'd stay single.

In my estimation, the female love interest bar was set by Jack pretty much.
