If Shepard has to break Jack out of prison again, and, during the mission, we get a series of non-dialogue conversations back-and-forth where Jack and Shepard harass each other as they go, a la Shepard & Liara in the SB DLC, that would be awesome.  :o  If she has some extra lines, or different lines, if she was romanced, that would be even better.

That would TOTALLY BADASS! I loved that part in Lotsaletters (that DLC does really have a ridiculous acronym) and Liara is not even my favourite character! If I ever see that kind of back-and-forth among Jack and Shepard (or Wrex and Shepard) I'll overdose on awesome and die with a smile on my face.

What could make that even worse?  The fact that Shepard would obviously have no reaction to it.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

He'd
give one of those dead-eyed stares into the distance, as the camera
points directly at his face, and some mournful piano notes ring out.

Followed by the thud thud thud of our collective heads against our desks...

Oh... please no!
Thud!

Every once in a while, 4chan gets its hand on a template and goes nuts by turning the resultant pictures in to a new internet meme.  Here's the one for Jack:

Cute?

My God! If Jack had proportions like that, I would never romance anyone ever again.

The pictures are all done in the super-deformed "chibi"-style.  They're not meant to be taken seriously

^ I dunno whether to chuckle or be genuinely scared.

Joking aside -

Overall it was a damn shame there wasn't enough back and forth between squaddies for the main game, let alone the dlc - even though Liara and Shepard did pass some nice barbs between each other.

Personally though, I'd much rather see Jack break Shep outta prison. Has a nice little payback ring to it, and if Shep has any complaints then there's plenty of opportunity for awesome convo under gunfire.

Shep: Breaking me out like this is a bad idea Jack! If I die here I'm haunting you!

Jack: Like when you broke me outta Purgatory with 3 YMIR mechs on my ass the second I woke up? I ain't letting you rot in your cell waiting to die!

... Or maybe something less corny sounding than the above.

It's bad enough I owe Cerberus my life but not even being able to break out of a prison on my own?

It's all incidental knowledge, I swear. :(

You know what would be nice?  The squadmates actually acknowledging the Reaper threat, instead of being all passive about it.

Yeah, that was disappointing, especially in light of the work done in Dragon Age (which I just played again, recently, out of boredom). The characters and their interactions are very strong.

Speaking of dialogue, I think Jack's voice actress did some stuff for Fallout New Vegas... Pretty certain she just sent me on a quest, heh. Is she popular?

It seems like Courtenay Taylor's voice is in every vidya game, nowadays.  It's nice to see that she's keeping busy.

Courtenay is indeed talented and although I can't say that Jack would have or would not have the same impact with someone else doing the voice work, I just couldn't imagine her now with anyone else's voice.

I remember Jack mentioning something along those lines during Horizon. At least something bigger than Cerberus anyway.

Oi.

One downside to liking an unpopular character is having to trudge through ~10 months-worth of misunderstandings, misconceptions and prejudices in order to speak on a higher level about her.

I can't remember exactly myself but Axl had the gist of it.

I just got the appearance pack (mainly for Garrus so I don't have to look at his stupid damaged armor anymore), and...ugh, is there any way to get rid of that visor they put on Jack? I love the new outfit, but the visor is terrible. It ruins what is one of the most attractive looking models in the game, and BioWare did an excellent job translating Jack's emotion through her eyes.

No, I don't know of a text mod that does this. One person was working on it, but seems to have aborted the attempt months ago. Need to hunt down one of the people who've done some text mods in the game to see if they can work it out, but I don't really know any of those people.

Anyway, it's a big reason why I rarely use the outfit, even though I think it's awesome. When I do use it, I'm constantly trading it back and forth with one of her other outfits so that I know she's visorless when we have conversations.

Yeah, I guess I'll just stick with it during missions and switch her back to her regular one when I want to talk to her on the Normandy. It's a shame, because the rest of the outfit is great.

What's the problem with removing the visor anyway? Just remove the visor from the actual 3d mesh!

Mondo, after the derptastic Virmire survivor reunion on Horizon, with Kaidan/Ashley getting angry at Shepard for being dead, would you trust the writers to write a believable, angry reaction for Jack, when Shepard comes to break her out of prison?  If it were done well, it would be heartbreaking, but, after Horizon...

A quick and dirty way would to use an alpha channel for the visor texture, to make it transparent.

Yes, possibly. I mean, whoever is writing it (if it happens) might well be able to handle it. I think that what would really be needed on the part of the writer involved would be personal experience of some kind of betrayal, because on one hand Jack's head is going to be screaming just like all the others, but on the other it'll be yelling he came for me. If someone you love, really love, turns their back on you, that's what you'd have to tap into writing that scene - that kind of confliction. That's all it'd take... the ability to be in Jack's shoes. And it helps if you've been there.

And I think it'd help even more if you let her hit Shepard, too Image IPB

In general I have faith in writers until they play thier cards; you can't know for sure how bad something established might get mangled. The Virmire survivor's situation may well be salvaged sooner or later, perhaps with enough weight to sweep the whole Horizon encounter under the rug, or even give it more depth (due to what is not said and done in that scene). We'll just have to wait and see.

And if it is really bad, rail on it in here Image IPB

I'm playing through "Fallout:  New Vegas", and, to avoid spoilers, a particular female companion (squadmate) is very much similar to Jack.  Foul attitude, vicious sense of humor, loves to shoot things.  I even checked to see if her voice-actress is Courtenay Taylor, but nope.

Good game, by the way, but very buggy.

EDIT: Just found that Courtenay Taylor voices another female character in "New Vegas".  She uses her "Jack" voice for the character.  The character has a shaved head and brown eyes, too

Yeah, it was a fun game. Definitely a real RPG. Bugged to hell, unfortunately (at least on the PC). The party members were really forgettable though, which in turn reminded me how good Bioware is in that department.

Jack's voice actress did at least 2-3 voices that I noticed, all varying slightly.

She has a distinctive sort of voice.

I recently saw a movie, and the female cop in it seemed strangely familiar. Sure enough, it was Courtenay.

Small part and a weird flick tho...

Forgettable?  Maybe.  Though, the one companion I was talking about, who reminds me of Jack, has a significant (genetic) tie to one of the previous Fallout games.  That alone makes her very interesting.  It's also nice that the companions aren't useless this time.  I gave that woman a cowboy repeater and she was popping people's heads off from across the Mojave Desert.
